Mogwai Multi Gate is FREE at the moment - normally $9.99. No idea how long for - lots of other stuff on sale. I know nothing about their plugins. But free is one of my favourite four letter words beginning with F. I like the word fume as well. https://mogwaiaudiotools.com.au/product/mgate-multi/5 points

I think the response would have been different if you’d actually asked for help trying to solve your specific problems. This is actually a very helpful forum with many knowledgeable people. Even the developers stop by almost daily. Having said that, this is a forum for the Windows application Cakewalk by BandLab (formally SONAR), and not the web based BandLab DAW. It’s sad that you didn’t stay for a bit longer as I’m sure your problems would eventually have been solved. Still, if you would change your mind I'm sure that a lot of people here would help you out.3 points

I personally don't see what the problem is - according to the article, the telemetry is optional. Furthermore, it remains open source - anyone with relevant programming experience (including the original owners/maintainers of Audacity) can fork the latest release and disable the telemetry if they felt that strongly about it.2 points

Definitely agree that Pianoteq sounds better - if £58.56 is half price for TruePianos, I'd definitely recommend at least looking at Pianoteq Stage2 points

Epic Piano looks like something I could very well use often...for under $20 seems like a no-brainer. Anyone have any experience with the any other plug ins here? The price is right, but not sure anything else I actually "need." hahaha. Since when does that come into play?2 points

Currently obsolete. Tabs are leftovers from when the synth rack was part of the Browser. A while back they separated it from the Browser even tho it's still tied to it. Confusing for sure when collapsed. I would have preferred they left it as-was and made each tab draggable out to it's own floating window instead of just the synth rack.2 points

Different opinion here. It’s one of a very small group of modeled pianos with Pianoteq and Arturia’s V Piano, both being infinitely better as TruePianos are not being updated. But for a modeled piano it still deserves respect in my book.2 points

The difference is mainly tube (pentode/triode) vs transistor(fet/zener). The HG-2MS seems comparable to the VSM-4 given the tube layout. As for sound, the VSM-3 might be "more different" from the HG-2MS than the VSM-4. I was trying to decide if it was worth the effort to demo. ... update... And then Larry posts this ^^^. I'm pretty happy with the HG-2MS on acoustic/organic tracks.2 points

The ever increasing speed continues approximately 392 time faster than light travels in normal space without suffering the effects gravity wells. Synthesiser Instruments used. Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular x 2 using the new VM2500 modules emulating the ARP 2500 modular synth modules Polymode or Poly Moog emulation DCO 106, a Juno 6 emulation Softube's Model 84 Polyphonic Synth, another Juno 6 emulation FX used. Cakewalk stock plugins for most channels with Tape emulation on the Busses and N-Type Channel emulations, with the Quad Curve EQ and Stock Channel compressor, where need, on all channels and Busses Infected Mushrooms Wider Arturia's Eternity Delay, their Phaser Bi-Tron Boz Digitals David Bendeth +10dB Pro Channel Compressor on two tracks Finalising Span and Youlean's loudness meter on the master buss. Some of you may notice this was published four days ago. Warp 7 is now very nearly baked.1 point

Hi Everybody, This is a brand new track I just finished up for the album I'm currently working on called "The Westerly Sessions Vol. VII". As always, any comments or critiques are welcome, and thanks for listening? Here it is: https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=142394401 point

I'm starting to really like DaVinci Resolve. Resolve has what they call the Fusion page for doing intricate effects, but I'm not using that here, just doing some easy effects similar to how they're done in Vegas. I used clips from our trip to Paris a few years ago and some clips I downloaded from Pixabay. Also, some images from NASA and I made some jpg images in Photoshop. There's no theme or anything. I just put in effects that I thought looked good. Thanks for listening/comments.1 point

I’ve asked this before and I’m surprised we don’t have this feature. I would like to be able to repeat my last function. If I’m working on a midi track and change any note’s length, velocity or pitch, it would be great to highlight another note and hit the repeat button to change the next note’s value. If I nudge a take lane, sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to get the clip where it needs to be. Once I figure that out I can hit the repeat button and move other take lanes to that position. That would save a good deal of time. There is an endless list of procedures a repeat function can perform. Thanks, ‘Michael1 point

Me too - as far as saturation plugins (...and other types of plugins now that I think about it), I think I'm covered, or at least until my next bout of GAS ? I was wondering because my impression of Zo's Black Box review was that it was one of best sounding plugins at the time.1 point

It appears to be a separate account. After completing the support login, I can still access BA, this forum and BandLab website using my original ID and password created during the migration from Cakewalk.1 point

I was roaming the menu and clicked on the support link on the help menu. It appears there is a new account database for support. The login screen supports authentication via Google/Twitter and email. One of the screens mentioned that if I had sent them email in the past my account was already set up and I needed to request a new password. Otherwise, I needed to create a new account. Since I had sent email to support in the past I... requested a new password, got a link via email, followed the link, added a password and the support page opened.1 point

Doug I always kind of hesitate with the crits, because you have a definite "style" that just works; there's a "signature" to your productions. I will say that on the DT990's here the bass is just a bit loud to my ears (totally a "taste" thing). And the kick is a bit "undefined", I like a little "beater" (again "taste"), although during the solo I thought I heard a bit of beater. As always, a big fan, another good one! ?'s t1 point

Capriccio Italien - Pyotr Tchaikovsky - Igor Manasherov, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra I love this piece of music. The simple one note "ta ka ta ta" theme finds its way all over this piece of music in different speeds, octaves and instruments. And in the middle there is the part that the Moody Blues quoted in "Days of Future Passed". I haven't heard this version, each conductor puts his/her own stamp on it. I have one at home by Antal Dorati that I can't find on UTube, and since I'm not familiar with this conductor, I'll give it a go.1 point

Cakewalk'd. Audacity is often the first DAW that people start working with. In my second go-round, that was the case with me. I went as far as successfully compiling the ASIO build on my home Windows system. People who have easy, free access to music-making software and are therefore encouraged to go further with making music will spend money on a company's other products. Witness my own experience with the Meldaproduction FreeFXBundle. Years ago I downloaded the bundle and used MCompressor and MEqualizer to learn how to mix. At this point I own licenses for 56 of their plug-ins and continue to recommend them to people. The idea is that significant enough percentage of Audacity users will become MuseScore users to make the project worthwhile. As with Cakewalk, there may eventually be builds with greater integration with MuseScore and their other products. MuseScore for notation and MIDI, Audacity for audio. It's probable that Audacity will become a download option when someone buys MuseScore. My .02.1 point
