Please log all operations to Edit > History. Especially, Moved fader or knob (the changed value) in the console because this can be accidentally changed with mouse wheel and can't remember what you did how much... It would be nice if you can undo it with Ctrl + Z. or... Add option to disable the value change with mouse wheel in the console view.

I upgraded to Melodyne 5 yesterday (from Melodyne 4 Studio). The upgrade cost $149 AM and went flawlessly. (I don't use iLok). And yes, my Melodyne 4 was completely removed with the upgrade. Celemony says Melodyne 5 is backward-compatible and it does seem to be. I've had a chance to use it a bit. The sibilant handling is great and the dynamic fade capability (which was a long time coming, and one of Melodyne's big shortcomings)) is very welcome. Those were the two main reasons why I upgraded. The leveling macro looks good too and I can see it being useful. It will probably allow less reliance on a vocal follower. What I also like is the new algorithm that no longer relies on the average pitch of a note, but instead operates on the 'sweet spot' or the 'best pitched' section of the note. The theory is that certain parts of a note that are technically 'off pitch' do not need correction and are not perceived as a problem by the listener, but rather an essential part of the performance. So far, I give it a big thumbs up. However don't expect Celemony's slick video on chord manipulation (if you're using Editor or Studio) to go quite as smoothly as they portray. While it's a bit of a miracle what can be done with the polyphonic stuff, it's tricky to use. At least, I've found it to be. But then, I haven't used the polyphonic features all that much, even in Melodyne 4.

Not just pianos, bass, guitars, drums, but also cellos, mandolins, vocals, gypsy violins, celtic harps, saxophones, mandolins, harmonicas, synths, and a wide variety of percussion. It's a really big list and the combinations are endless. You can take all the "RealTracks" and combine them any way you want.

I posted this song on the old forum about 4 years ago. I decided to update it so I changed some lyrics, some instruments and the name of the song. The vocal track is much better although with my singing "much better" means it's way up there to mediocre now. Thanks for giving it a listen.

Today I tried the latest version of CbB using an older symphonic/ jazz project. Deleted all the plugins & remixed from scratch. An older collab made with mp3s , 16b files so its lo-fi. CbB worked great overall, but did have a few crashes, not sure why. Maybe cause the project is older. Be safe + Go Well...

I think EZBass will become something special down the road. I plan to use it for inspiration, less likely for final tracks (until I'm physically unable to play). What I heard in your test is a great example of a demo bass line that can either be a) be tweaked or b) a jumping off point for a real player. I'm thrilled with EZKeys for somewhat the same reason(s). EZKeys was used to start the latest BZJ song (of course Daryl did a great job of adding a live player feel to his parts).

@Starship Krupa Thanks Erik for your statement! But in general I think that like "Ripple Edit All" works in CbB today is nonsensical or even absurd, because the persistence on locked clips to be "unremovable" leads exactly to a LOGICAL MOVE of them !!!!!!!!!!!!! and may even overwrite other clips! 😡 Consider that adding a new part moves all (position) locked clips behind forwards and removing a part moves all locked clips behind backwards (from their logical position within the part). Isn't that crazy? It maybe even out of your screen area and you don't notice it at the moment! Does there exist any logical explanation why this could make sense? 🙃

Do not install. It changes your sound settings and also a lack of control as there really is no preference menu.

I'm following the advice from https://www.askwoody.com/, so I've changed the Windows Update advanced settings to defer security updates by about 10 days, and the half yearly feature updates by 180 days. That should save a lot of trouble, as any problematic updates can be fixed or withdrawn by Microsoft before my computer downloads them. So I guess I'll be getting the 20.04 update in November
