  2. 250 euros for the update when the previous version does not reach the year and a half of existence. Ridiculous to put those prices.

  5. I prefer BFD from a kit perspective but SD3 from a usability perspective. If they put a way to import BFD3 kits and grooves into SD3 I'd be 100% SD3 and never look back.

  6. They really don't need to. More kits could be added to the existing AD2 engine, it has nothing to do with needing a different engine/version. My vintage guitars also still play and sound just as good as they used to. Billboard hits have been made with AD2. Sorry, I don't think we need something that "sounds better" getting quality sound out of the program is on the person sitting in the chair. If top 40 hits with mega studios and budgets can use AD for a drum sound, I think we know where the bar is. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0qnxHbvferhyRDdOD4Loom No, they are not my favorite kits (frankly Drum Core has that, and the samples they used are likely even older than AD2) , but this has more to do with the kits sampled than the actual sound. AD 2 is capable of playing back drum recordings/samples. Garbage in Garbage out. As long as they put a good sounding recording into the AD2 interface it is good enough. SD3 is just absurd. I don't need over 230 gigs of drum samples. I just Jamstix to run AD. If I didn't have that my argument against all the programs is we need something that isn't just statically using midi files. That is where the tech needs to head, not improved sound quality. Take off all the effects in the program and use your own. If you cant' get a usable sound out of that, the time to move to a different hobby/profession. My .02

  7. Here is a recent composition I just completed.....ok maybe not because I keep going back to my mixes over and over again. I'll be honest. This started out in CbB. I had an issue with my Kontakt tracks getting all mixed up when I unfroze them. I had to do some salvage work and save what I could as track exports which ended up in Studio One. That wasn't my original plan. The main mix was made in Cakewalk but I added a few more tracks and mastered in Studio One. I appreciate any comments. I will be back to listen to others work here. I had to break away for a bit and needed my ears. I'lllll be Bach.

  11. What is Le Parisien? Le Parisien is a sample library for Kontakt based on three accordions. It’s a faithful recreation of the sound and behaviour of the real instruments. Recorded with three mic positions and multiple round robin in a perfect studio environment. The library includes all the features you need to create beautiful and evocative accordion melodies and accompaniments easily. UI The animated interface shows you a 3D representation of each accordion. In the bottom bar you'll be able to navigate through the different panels. Accordions Rouge, Blanc and Noir. Each one of them sampled with all registers, giving different sound characteristics, and mechanical noises for more realistic results. Dynamics An accordion is a dynamic instrument that can be played with a lot of expression. You can use the mod-wheel to create realistic crescendos and give emotion to your tracks. Sequencer Accordionists can play accompaniments using the left hand while playing melodies with the right hand. The library includes an advanced sequencer with chord recognition. Get it now for only €39 until the end of the month. Reg. price: €59.00 Shop now

  23. Just to clarify for this thread, the problem RBH was having has been resolved. He has a broken DirectX installation that causes even the Microsoft DirectX diagnostic tools (DXDiag) to crash. The new version of Cakewalk uses Direct2D for some drawing optimizations for the arranger UI and this is what triggers the problem on his PC. Normal Win7 systems are unaffected by this problem.

  24. XLN insistence on the installation of these unnecessary 1’s and 0’s ( without me being given a choice upfront!) is just AAX backwards. I don’t apologize if this has already been said. I just have to relieve my self.

  30. Thanks for the reassurances about Melda VTS3 plug-ins working in Cakewalk. I asked because I have been exploring some possible issues I have had recently. In another forum (KVR) it was noted that the plug-ins use some OpenGL routines. Since my PC is an older model, it doesn't have the ability to use many newer OpenGL routines. I like the Melda plugins I have used so far and will be looking into updating my graphics abilities. Thanks also for the SuperLooper video!!!

  34. It appears when downloading Miroslav sound files you do NOT need to download the 5 Sound Updater files located in Miroslav's Download Resources (where the manuals are). It looks like the sounds in the normal download section have already been updated.

  35. Not sure about a switch to subs (as I just don't agree with the notion) But I think we can all generally agree the field has changed regarding the cost of plugins and the percieved value in them. At one point WAVES was built on a model that cost an absurd amount of money per plugin. Now, top shelf plugins are $10-30 year round across the specturm. Companies that charge $150+ for an effect (outside of something like Melodyne), no clue how they even stay in business.

  36. Right! Committing changes is a tough thing to learn. I've seen an interview with Eddie Kramer, where he mentioned this as a necessity of 70s' studio workflow. Got me thinking that revisiting and readjusting processing isn't always a great idea. I'm yet to start exporting stems for mixing, though.

  37. I downloaded it (462MB) and listened to it while avoiding housework. Active listening is always difficult with ambient music so I jotted some notes (again) The 1st part: Nice interplay of instruments, kind of playful. Might need more variation. 12 min I was ready for a change, and like I said before, this part with the soundscapes and sweeps interested me more. Nice menacing tone here. 15 min getting hypnotic 17 min back to the arps. Kind of abrupt. Maybe need more pad in the background 20 min Familiar aaaaahs and ooooohs Korg M1 I think. 23 min very nice bell melodic part. Vangelis like. This is my favorite part 26 min back to the bell arps like in the beginning. IDK doesn't work for me. Purely subjective. An enjoyable listen for my morning coffee Wookie. Will there be a side two of that vinyl album?

A company named "Mimic Audio" selling music packs: Old Town Road Bad Guy I Don't Care Sunflower Beautiful People Godzilla SEÑORITA Dance Monkey And their product pages have links to the original rack on sound services even. While I'm sure they have some legal cover or at least think they do, I'm not so sure.

  42. Great video as always @Chandler. And you are right, that video gave me enough info to get my mind going about what I could do with that thing! @User 905133 I always use Melda's VST3 in CbB.

  43. This is what I would try: 1. Create 2 folders on your D drive: D:\Cakewalk Projects D:\Cakewalk 2. In a new batch file (.bat) on your C drive place these 2 softlink lines: mklink /D "C:\Cakewalk Projects" "D:\Cakewalk Projects" mklink /D "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk" "D:\Cakewalk" 3. Run the batch file as an administrator on your C drive. After you’ve done that, then just install CbB as normal, since the folders for CbB exist as represented by the softlinks, they will be the target for the install but the data will be on your D drive.

  44. Personally what I would do is update all of your drivers (Use manufacturer's web sites rather than letting Windows 10) Audio Interface, network and Video - all of them. Then make sure you have installed all Windows 10 patches. Then update your Vdist runtimes (this is not done with Windows updates) https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

  48. Sometimes you don't know how much you like a song until you haven't heard it in a while, and this is one of them. I like the texture of your voice in this, and it makes this version uniquely yours. All that stands out is that it is hot and bright, almost brittle. Otherwise, this is very cool. Nice choice of songs.
