  11. MINI is the most comprehensive sample library ever done of ultra tiny object sounds. It contains over 5.000 samples of anything from buttons to rolling toys, wooden twigs to eating chips, boiling frying pans to human hoses, nail files to pocket watches, sand-drums to styro-foam, teeth clacks to water bubbles and so much more. The concept may seem strange at first, but these sounds have remarkable value in terms of composition and music. MINI is also great for User Interface Sound Design and has been used in countless applications. Whether you want 12 different button sounds with up to 10X Round Robin, Velocity and Round Robin based Mouse Clicks, Pixel Kits, Pencil and Eraser sounds, Small items being dropped and tossed. Its ALL there. This library is specially designed to provide a huge wealth of playable source material and inspiration for contemporary scoring, experimental, IDM, industrial and electronic music, as well as professional sound design. We captured an amazing array of different objects and soundsources in a wide range of environments, both exotic and mundane. Our goal was to not only further re-define what can qualify an instrument, but also just how playable we could possibly make each and every one of them. Mini is ready to go out of the box, yet deep and varied enough to provide limitless creative and production potential. MINI is the embryonic state of sound. 12. The problem with only posting songs you like is that many people have different tastes in music. The second problem is that some might end up judging another persons taste in music. I don't want it to be that, I want the association to be the game, not a statement of personal musical taste. I also don't want someone to think, "Ooh that's a very clever association, but I don't like that song so I better not post it," I've listened to and liked a lot of the music others have posted here, and there have been some that I didn't care for. The good part about it is that I've been exposed to some I suggest leaving songs you like to the "Listening To This Now" thread and just go with an association. If the association isn't obvious, please provide an explanation. Back to the game. Witch Hunt - Rush

  15. I have a bunch of feature requests for track handling. 1. Turn Folder tracks into Aux tracks so that FXs/ProChannel can be applied to the Folder output. When a Folder track is created, make sure a corresponding audio patch point is created. New audio tracks created in the Folder track are routed to the corresponding patch point automatically. Audio tracks moved in the Folder track should keep their current output assignment. 2. Introduce MIDI patch points and advanced MIDI routing. Sends from one MIDI track to other MIDI tracks should be possible, so that MIDI events of one track are put to the outputs of multiple MIDI tracks at the same time and there's no need to copy paste events from one track to another. 3. Make sure current MIDI effects have good modern UX/UI to cover the basics in real time: transpose (quick +/- octave buttons), delay (or time offset), velocity increase/decrease, humanise - this is gonna be used heavily for creating double tracks and layered sounds. 4. MIDI events on the MIDI track should take precedence over the events received via the patch point when there are duplicates, e.g. same note with the same timestamp or mod wheel with different values. I'm unsure whether the MIDI-related automation should be sent via the MIDI send at all, perhaps only clip-based automation. 5. Folder tracks should only affect the audio tracks in terms of routing, i.e. when audio tracks are created within the Folder, they get routed to the audio patch point of the Folder by default, but when MIDI tracks are created within the Folder, they are not routed to the MIDI patch point of the Folder. 6. Nested Folder tracks - this is self-descriptive enough I believe. I'm sure I haven't thought all of this through properly and would probably need to test it after the first iteration, but you get the idea, I hope, and should be able to develop this further yourselves. I also kinda really like the non-destructive MIDI editing per clip from Logic for velocity, quantisation, etc

  16. Hello all! We're pleased to announce our last release of the year, a 100% FREE instrument... Shreddage 3 Precision FREE! This is an edited version of our flagship electric bass, which features a legendary 5-string American p-bass sound that can be heard across countless records, soundtracks, styles and genres. Performed by Tony Dickinson of Trans-Siberian Orchestra fame, Precision was captured through a lovely UA|610 analog DI and has flatwound strings for a superb, warm tone. Our FREE version includes the most important playing technique - fingerstyle sustains - with accompanying pops and finger noises, all in the same exact Shreddage 3 engine with loads of tweaking and FX capabilities. The sampling depth is exactly the same as the full version (24bit, 4x RR, 4x dynamics), and we've included two octaves of playable range starting at a low B. Though not as much as the full version's 3.5 octaves, this still allows you to write a wide range of basslines! https://soundcloud.com/isworks/sets/shr ... free-demos https://impactsoundworks.com/product/shreddage-3-precision-free/ You'll also see that we're now using the Pulse Downloader. This cross-platform app allows you to easily download + install libraries and virtual instruments from multiple developers, all in a convenient interface. If you don't have Pulse yet, you can download it hereand make an account. (This is separate from your ISW account, since you can access multiple developers' products from there.) In early 2020, we'll be transitioning ALL of our products to Pulse so it will be easier than ever to download, install, maintain, and update your purchases!

  26. Got this last week and have used it on a couple of tracks..... This is a top of the line plugin with great aesthetics as is the case with all Arturia plugins and instruments. Has multiple functionalities including drive and advanced parameters which are optional and useful for those who love to tweak their sound a lot and go into details. For beginners, the best aspect is that there are a good number of presets which will have you do A/B for a number of days. I don't see it replace my Waves Abbey Road Plate but whenever I need a lighter CPU load or a different plate sound for one of my instrument tracks, this will be the one to go to, along with Soundtoys Little Plate (Although both of them are plate reverbs, they're very different beasts). But yeah, this is an awesome Xmas gift for sure.....

  27. Hmm. I rather like the Bill Withers song. To each their own I guess But it's just Song Association, liking the associated song might be nice, but not necessary. How about this one... The Hunter - Albert King I think Zeppelin did a nice variation of this one but here's the original...

  30. I love this. ? Like all ujam products, it is incredibly simple to use and designed to integrate perfectly with the other ujam products. Play some ujam drums and start messing with this. It is awesome. I don't know what it would be like with other company's instruments, but it works like a charm with theirs. I don't know if it's a magic spray, but it sure is JUICY!

  32. Is there a way for Staff to mark individual posts with consistently used generalized keywords/phrases, like "Did-you-know . . . " [DYK?] or maybe "Tips-and-tricks . . . " [TnT?] or "Often overlooked feature . . . " [OOF?] or "Mini Tutorial" [MiniT?] so users can do a search for whichever keyword/phrase is designated and go through on their own to find these kinds of gems (something sort of like an updated, forum-based "Did you know . . . " series of tips from the old SONAR line)? Just a thought.

  34. This is an amazing package that includes a lot of cool 3D type they've never introduced before. It is $3, but is free with code FCB in checkout. Also some fonts and illustrations and some 3D backgrounds, in case you want to release your own ambient software. Of course, as I am a big collector of 3D type I went nuts for their $6 package. So I used their 40% off code 40CNY and got it for $3.60. I hope this makes you all feel better that you only have GAS for music software. I am dealing with graphic design GAS too.

  38. It's unbelievable that such tools are available to us today. What a time. For this choice, I think it depends on who you are. If you have music school training, or have spent enough time on the internet to know how to compose for all the instruments in the orchestra--maybe Amadeus wins by a hair. For learning. And because it's designed by Tracy Collins of Indiginus it has an easy, easy interface. I'm somebody with a bit of training who is learning and will keep on learning, so buying it on release for $99 was a purchase I've never looked back on. If you're not a smartie and you just want to play a C chord, select a preset, and hear amazing orchestral music, then The Orchestra is for you. Plus... you can still compose for the orchestra in the conventional way. The Orchestra is all about a 5-part arpeggiating machine. And if you get it, you can keep adding to it with their other 5 parters like Elysion and Mallet Flux. Not to mention that The Orchestra itself just got a string expansion and there will be many more expansions I'm sure. But I think that Amadeus has a bit more to offer for traditional orchestral composition. More instruments and articulations.

  40. I prefer to have one master and multiple sub-busses, which achieves the same result. It's useful any time you want to apply an effect or automation to a subset of the full mix, such as running all instruments through a flanger for an Itchykoo Park type effect. Or to fade out some elements and not others. But to answer the question, your technique is perfectly legit and there is no real downside to it other than lacking a true "master" bus (for example, where will your mastering limiter go?).
    1 point
  41. IMO, I don't think that's good idea. You can make a fade on any tracks and buses, so... Make a bus for fading pattern 1 and draw volume automation on it. Make a bus for fading pattern 2 and draw volume automation on it. Route these buses to the Master bus.

  42. Sonsuscore The Orchestra is on sale for $179.40 right now at Best Service https://www.bestservice.com/the_orchestra.html
    1 point
  43. They are similar and both sound great. The Sonuscore product is more sophisticated. It has more articulations, lots of presets plus some surprisingly useful arpeggiators. I'd suggest going with that one if you're really into orchestration. But if all you want are simple backing tracks for pop and rock tunes, ASO gets you there very quickly.
