I've found (at least a temporary) cure for gas. I recently picked up a new midi interface (a MioXL, replacing my old Motu), which resulted in a needed planned re-cabling/reracking of all my hardware. After that was complete, I figured I should look at the DAW computer. I thought what the heck, I'll just rebuild that as well....from scratch. Wiped the hard drive, installed the latest Windows 10, Cubase, etc. It took days of work to reinstall/reauthorize/reconfigure all the VSTs, Kontakt libraries, etc. What a total pain. And a clear fix for GAS! (Now how long is that Ethera sale on?!?!?!?!?)9 points

Well, after listening to all the great songs and musicians on this forum I feel kind of stupid posting my song about Beanie Weenies. Emeraldsoul Tom posted a song a while ago about mixing up a batch of... something. Forgot what it was but it was funny and I decided to write something along the same lines. I tried playing the guitar part live but I kept messing it up so I used OTS Stratosphere. I've never eaten Beanie Weenies but I like the name so I went for it. I still haven't eaten Beanie Weenies even after making up a potful in the video. My wife tossed it out because it wasn't all that great.3 points

BTW I am away from today visiting family over Christmas so won't be around to update this thread. Hopefully Larry or someone will update it though for the final three deals (although my first post should still be pretty close). I will still keep an eye out for any last minute deals on my phone Happy Christmas to all!3 points

Guys, this is a no brainer. Was supposed to crash and burn on the 20th Dec, but extended to Jan 1. Too many beers yesterday to get in a late post that there were only hours, maybe minutes left til the Dec 20 deadline... So many good things in the package, and software in the development stage that will be added to the personal GB link as they are developed through the next year. Me for one looking forward to the vst ARP machine. Check this out... http://wwww.wusik.com/w/index.php/purchase/Group-Buy-2019-c38233004 And happy holidays to all. John2 points

I noticed today the upgrade to Orchestra Complete is $77.61 on Kontakt Hub. Assuming they're trustworthy, that's the best price I've seen.2 points

Hi, here's a piece of music I did in Cakewalk. I've used Vienna Symphonic Library instruments. This is a journey in the woods, and I imagined encountering various creatures, either magical or somewhat frightening. I hope you'll enjoy it, let me know what you think!1 point

"Mind Games" (Rock) Hi, guys, It's been a while! Due to a very busy work schedule, I haven't been able to get in the studio for about three months, but this past week or so I was finally able to squeeze in about three hours over a couple nights and came up with this new song. Unfortunately, once again I seem to have lost my "studio ears", and hope you can help me out by lending me yours!? I just uploaded a Test Mix for a new song called "Mind Games". If you can spare a few moments to check it out, as always, any and all helpful comments, suggestions, constructive criticism, input and ideas are very welcome, and also greatly appreciated!?? Big thanks in advance for any observations, suggestions, comments and ideas!? Bob ==================================== "Mind Games" https://soundclick.com/r/s8b98r1 point

a tune from the new Bats Brew album, "THE WILD ANIMALS" ****************************************************** This one's a bit different, it's an acoustic based tune, with some cool electric slide guitar in it to help grease things along. it's a booty shaker. https://soundcloud.com/bats-brew/worlds-goin-down available here: store.cdbaby.com/cd/batsbrew131 point

*We the Living* is a book by none other than Ayn Rand. I started writing a musical with that book in mind and this is the first song, we the living. Years ago, I sequenced this in sonar 7. :D:D 1st version: https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/we-the-living 2nd version: https://davidsprouse.bandcamp.com/track/we-the-living-21 point

500GB SATA SSD makes a great boot drive. M.2 Ultra is overkill... and IMO a waste of that speed (use it for disk-streaming sample libraries)1 point

Actually, I did read the post fairly thoroughly, and your suggested changes to PRV tools are exactly what I was referring to. I don't have the time and patience to respond to everything at once, especially knowing that I might have misunderstood some of them, but here are a few quick examples: Screensets, Workspaces and the Multidock have already been mentioned as solutions to getting persistent and desired window layouts, and will also likely account for Control Bar and Autozoom persistence issues. As you may know, holding Ctrl while changing a control in one of two or more selected tracks change all of them; this is Quick Grouping. It works with I/O assignments as well. That should already be happening. Make a separate post to troubleshoot. Cakewalk deliberately differentiates between selection (the source of a copy), and focus (the target of a copy). This facilitates all kinds of track-to-track and lane-to-lane editing that wouldn't be possible if clicking in a lane moved both selection and focus. What might work would be to have clicking in an empty part of a lane move just the focus there, but the possible consequences to other workflows would need to be considered.1 point

Thanks, man! I didn't know that, and it's actually really useful information. I'm probably gonna have them docked in every project from now on. I'll still leave that suggestion there, though, because it would make dragging and dropping easier than having to flip through windows back and forth, on the dock bar, for every intervention. And it could be achieved very easily, with just adding the double arrow button just above the up arrow of the side slider, which is also its natural position in the Track View. Happy holidays!1 point

Thank you for the clarification @David Sprouse if you allow Google translate to auto detect it thinks it is Swedish and implies a reduce mentality. i.e. Stupid Guy. The German Translation equals Nice Guy!1 point

While waiting for this to be implemented - try creating a category folder at the top of the "Sort By Categories" to hold favorites or create a custom layout and add the plug-ins either directly to the top of the layout or in a folder1 point

Why am I even reading this.............? You don't need any more synths Paulo, FFS. How many more times do you need to tell yourself........?1 point

That shouldn’t have anything to do with the latest update. Most likely you have activated the option “Recycle Plug-In Windows” in Preferences > File > VST Settings > General. Unselect that checkbox and you should be able to display multiple VSTs again.1 point

I see your point re orchestral stuff, The RD2000 has the best of both worlds...... I have occasionally tried to justify buying one to myself but the unfortunate truth is that it's OTT for what I need. I always figured that their d-beam controller would be good for stuff like that too but I've never tried it.1 point

Hello friends of the forum. I am new to the musical adventure. Finally I was able to complete my first three songs on Cakewalk. 99% with midi synthesizers. I will be grateful if you have any comments or criticisms, they will be useful for me to improve https://youtu.be/4LbJK4w1-hQ?list=PLYxA4Xd613eSfmlOBiE-fCMTCAf5ieUj3 https://youtu.be/l1sVkck4qbU?list=PLYxA4Xd613eSfmlOBiE-fCMTCAf5ieUj31 point

To be honest, at least for me, 34 euros was worth it for the Europa synth alone. Plus, you get the Dual Arpeggio and Note Echo effects.1 point

If I understand what you are asking for, this is currently possible (1) by dragging and dropping the Synth Rack and Browser onto the MultiDock and (2) by using the Docking Options and choosing Dock in MultiDock--at least on my PC. Also, the MultiDock can be undocked as a whole so the Synth Rack and Browser are there as tabs. Also, for some of your other points, have you tried (1) Screensets and (2) Workspaces? I have quite a number of workspaces with very different Control Bar Settings and when I load them up, the Control Bars are fairly consistent in returning to the ways they were stored.1 point

Some Two Notes packs by Celestion were on my shopping list, but while I was waiting for a discounted offer, I got rEvolution by OwnHammer and created MCabinet presets for it. Now, comparing TN cabs to OH+MCab the latter wins. Maybe I miss something about the WoS. Would appreciate any insights and thoughts about this plugin.1 point

Which leads to one of my favorite JP (Peter Green cover) songs to play on guitar! (I even played the drums on this one before.)1 point

nice guitar playing and singing. I as well would like to hear another snare than the main one, (even though the snare hits right before the tom fills seem "normal" less thin). The chorus and your performance are really catchy and growing on me. Nice...1 point

Nice song Rex and well sung. Guitar mix was very clear. I found the drums to be a little on the flat side. well done.1 point
