  1. Not sure why they call it a flash sale when $29 is the expected norm.....especially around here. Now $15 would be something to flash at...... ............wait, that didn't sound right.

  2. That didn’t sound right either ...

  3. Excellent UI. Fully MIDI mappable. The large number of factory presets, samples and multi-samples do a really good job of showing off its capabilities. Smooth-sounding so far. I don't own Serum (but have Cthulhu), so can't compare, but it's way more fun and way easier to get into than Codex. Seems odd not to support ASIO in the standalone version. At least I can play the VST through ASIO in Gig Performer, so no need to load a DAW. The current version is not yet a year old, so this isn't just some corpsical software risen from the dead. Money well spent.

  5. So here’s my first and quite possibly last Light Theme for Cakewalk, as I much prefer dark themes I find it more difficult to make a light theme, so all I can do is hope the light theme likers like it cause I don’t, lol. Many greys and whites have been inspired by those of the metal ‘Titanium’, many colors have been used from my previous M-Lux Blue Theme except those I’ve had to change due to incompatibility with a light theme. Most other backgrounds, buttons, knobs etc are also from my previous theme but most with modification to match a light theme. Enjoy! (Hopefully) :~} Free Download Here.... M-Titanium Cakewalk Theme A combined total of around 150 hours, sometimes much more, goes in to creating each Theme I make, then there's more time spent to update them whenever BandLab makes changes or additions to the Cakewalk GUI to ensure any changed or new items display correctly and match the Theme, I also don't make all these Themes for myself, it's more of a hobby and to share the end results with the Cakewalk Community for their use and enjoyment at no charge, Any Tips/Donations via the following link for my time and efforts in creating and updating these are greatly appreciated, however small. Thank You! ❤️ https://www.paypal.me/MatthewJohnWhite

  6. Sorry there was a holiday and I was also out. We do have other direct methods of contact if you don't find answers here timely. You can use T-RackS 5 which you can get for $49.99 to host your current set of plugins and you get resizing, new GUIs, full new metering, and other features that are listed here https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tr5cs/ (you'll see the features only in T-RackS 5, Deluxe, and MAX have an asterisk next to them)

  12. According to Noel this fixes several things As with all recent Melodyne releases, I save my old installers, just in case. Actually, I save all old installers regardless of the manufacturer.

  13. Couple of notes. 1) Sektor standalone does NOT support ASIO, just Windows Audio and Direct Audio (really laggy) 2) The installation SUCKS. It places all executables, both 32-bit and 64-bit, in whichever folder you specify. This includes the VST3 file. I had to manually move the VST3 and standalone EXE and ICO files to more appropriate locations. Re install size... The VST2, VST3 and EXE files are 49 MB each. Note that I deleted the 32-bit versions. The expansions (Factory, et. al) show 4.24 GB of used disk space. It took a minute to find them. On my system, they're at: C:\Users\Primary\AppData\Roaming\IgniteVST\Sektor

  14. Good morning, at least it is morning over here in South Africa. Could you please kindly make for us on future updates a Tape stop effect plugin. a plugin that would bring about the same effect as vari-fi on pro tools or vinyl off in fl studio gross beat. I apologize for referencing other company's products, I all but mean to get my point across. this will be highly appreciated.

  16. Wow, The Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter $29.99 but on site Everyplugin it is $26.25. Now using the code YNY23, it comes down to $24.67. I'd buy that for $1.00 x 24 and add .67 at the end ?

  18. Be careful with the effects in your softsynths. Many of the presets are designed to sell the product to someone who is soloing it in a well spaced listening environment, and often the reverb etc. is designed to make that particular instrument sound huge. If you play a few of these scary monster sounds at the same time, you often get a result that is totally confusing as to the placement of the source. You will probably do better by pretty much recording each instrument dry (disable the effects in the synth patch) to its own track, and then trying to put it in space within the mix. Otherwise you end up with the effect of a bunch of waves of different sizes crashing into each other and creating a chaotic choppy mess, when what you want is a spaced series of distinct breakers rolling ashore so you can see the direction they come from. The issue with vocals is similar, in that modern recording technique tends to see reverb/delay as a method to improve the sound of the voice, or a substitute for vocal technique. If you are using a space-defining effect as a way to fatten up the voice, especially if you are doing it while tracking, then you are potentially bringing in a false cue to the location.

  21. I'd say it has absolutely nothing to do with sample rates and it's really down to the skill of the mix engineer. What sort of instrumentation are you using?

  22. The new version of Melodyne Essential is out now (ver. 4.2.2.004). I tried it with ARA integration in Cakewalk and it works good. Great thanks to @Noel Borthwick for help.

  23. Thanks husker and Matthew. I like the look of that Streamworks Audio course and it works out at around 26 GBP with the current discount so a definite contender. I will also probably get the Groove3 one on offer and wait for the others. I will also check out the Ask Video and SOS Tutorials although I don't have a sub for SOS magazine. I have subscribed to the Steinberg YouTube channel so maybe I should work my way through their content before spending too much money on paid for tutorials.

  24. Ask Video (which is also the same content as MacProVideo , SOS Tutorials and most likely a few others due to NonLinear Educating Inc. syndication ) has a handful of newer Cubase 10 videos (made by Matthew Hepworth). I've watched two of them (I have a year SOS Tutorials sub) they are decent but if your goal is learning all of Cubase each of them is pretty narrow (I'm sure they want you to buy a subscription). They have coverage of older Cubase too, but a lot of it has changed so much I'm not sure how useful it is. The courses on scoring and scoring to picture even though done with Cubase 8 seem useful. To be honest I've gotten more out of Steinberg's YouTube videos than any of the online courses I've watched so far.

  25. There must be hundreds of reverb plug-ins. Not sure what will sound good to you. Have you tried the other two reverb plug-ins bundled with CbB, Sonitus fx: reverb and REmatrix solo?

  27. I have all the Groove 3 courses you list here. Pretty decent. They just had a "Cubase" sale a week or two ago where everything was half priced. I have this as well - much more in depth. https://streamworksaudio.com/tutorials/swa-complete-cubase-pro-10/?fueid=18608&qid=27162 6 Hours worth of instruction. It's 35% off right now (until 5/31) with Code ELFF-6KRH-DHHE

  33. Honestly , I wont list all the DAW's I have currently or have used .. I will say when I was buying them and going through the honeymoon phase , I thought I was having a good time . Then I woke up one day and realized I was becoming a Jack Off All These DAW's and a Master of None ... Now I keep it simple ..Cakewalk , Reaper , Mixbus . Alright , all you extra DAW's , I want you all to line up over by the front gate single file . Get Off My Lawn Now. You are clogging up my workflow .I ain't got the time to read the manual . Kenny

  34. For those who like me have some of the instruments in the bundle and haven’t noticed, it is possible to buy a single instrument from a drop-down on the page linked in the OP. The VSTBuzz price for each single instrument is €49. I’m only lacking Strategy (Stratocaster) but don’t know how much would be gained already having the Telematic (Telecaster). But I would say that €89 for all four is a steal.

  35. This is indicative of a video driver that does not support OpenGL 3.2 Fortunately, there is a config option for the LP EQ and LP MB to handle this - Go to C:\Cakewalk Content\LP EQ\Settings Open LPEQ.cws in notepad Locate the string EnableOpenGL="1" Change it to EnableOpenGL="0" and save the file Repeat the process for LP MB using the LPMB.cws in C:\Cakewalk Content\LP MB\Settings I do not have the other plug-ins and cannot offer any suggestion other than to contact the manufacturer. Their plug-ins may be looking for features not available in the video driver as well.

  36. @cmbrowns after upgrading to Windows 1903, I had exactly the same issue. I found this fix: https://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/index.php/2019/04/23/fixing-korg-usb-midi-driver-issues-in-windows-10-may-2019-update/ The "distilled" instructions are: Open up regedit (windows key + R, type in regedit, followed by return), then follow these instructions: The two registry addresses to copy/paste are: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32 Note: If you've more than one korg device, you'll have to do this for each one. So for me, my NanoKontrol was 0011 / midi5, and my nanoKey was 0012 / midi4. Each device should have a different alias.

  38. Totally support this idea ^^ I always store my back ups and active Project files uncompressed in their per project folders. But when I have to send something, I always use WinRAR to send it if I need to.

  39. A friendly suggestion, switch from using bundle files and just .rar your project folder...you can even use a nifty little program call Quickpar- Quickpar Quickpar allows you to create repair files so if your files become damaged you can fix them easily. Too many people have had trouble opening older bundles...and todays bundles become older bundles tomorrow Even broken .rar files can be partially opened, damaged bundles are toast! Bill

  41. I use the start screen but also wrote a replacement which allows me to launch projects using different versions of CbB (64 bit SONAR Platinum and Producer too). It also allows deleting entries from the CbB MRU used by the file menu/start screen and several ways to create and maintain lists of project, project template and MIDI files to display in the tool. The program is called Cakewalk LaunchPad and is available on my google page.

  43. I've done it with 50 or so tracks without issue. It did take its time though on some projects. Out of all the methods of importing stuff, I've found the media browser to be by far the most reliable. Even projects from ancient versions of Sonar that would refuse to load normally could be successfully imported by dragging from the media browser.

  44. @Michael McBroom your are no dinosaur, I like to use the staff view as well. It was one of the things that really attracted me to Cakewalk back in 1993 when I first got Cakewalk Apprentice. For me the staff view makes musical sense the PRV useful from drums and percussion and a few tricks but it just does not look like music to me. I can understand the music in staff view and hear it when I read it. Whilst 128th notes might be of use I can definitely say that 64th notes would be useful. It would also be useful to be able ti import MXML we can export why not import?

  46. Dear Noel, in the animation the clip gain is moved too (after the fades). That's the feature I've tried to show. But anyway, I'm glad you are in this thread paying attention the clip gain request. Thanks!?
