Ian Macpherson
Have just moved to Cakewalk Sonar. I used the Si-Bass soft synth a lot in the past but now it is impossible to choose one of the sounds from the Program browser. The list of sounds is all screwed up. I tried using 75% and 150% in the Preferences screen menu but nothing changes. Anybody have an idea please ?

Reinstalling from the Product Centre cured the problem.

Ian Macpherson
Forgot to say the same thing happens for the Si Drum kit and the SI Electric Piano I uninstalled the whole Suite and re-installed Chnages nothing. i'm using Windows 11 but it all worked fine when I was using the Bandlab version due to expire end september. Should I fill in a bug report ?? Cheers Ian Mac
Glenn Stanton
just curious - i now if you move the SI UI (say to the center of your screen) initially i've found the drop list stays in the corner (where it opened) until i close the UI and re-open it. you might go ahead and file a bug report in case it is something to do with screen resolution - maybe try 1920x1180 first though. sjoens
List won't scroll to bottom? Just grab the bottom of the list and pull it down. Scrolling to the bottom of the list is now possible. This issue was reported years ago and is as old as dirt. It affects many Cakewalk instruments. The list opens in it's own window and can be moved separately from the main GUI. Edited Saturday at 03:40 AM by sjoens
Ian Macpherson
Gooday to all effectively with 1920 x whatever resolution the info in the SI window be it drums or bass or keyboard is perfectly visible and you can choose what you want. It starts to become illisible from 2560 x 1920 Regarding the comments by sjoens you can effectively resize the Si window BUT the contents of the window are NOT resized ! I re-installed Cakewalk by Bandlad to have a look ... the SI window is much bigger and when and if you resize the window the contents of the window are resized too BUT they are always readable. There is a new thing in the SI window in Sonar if you open it up horizontally there is a parameter button .... not in the previous version .... and an option <Improved display scaling> You hit that and the SI window takes up almost half the screen BUT the program names are still completely unreadable. best regards
Glenn Stanton
i'd post a bug report
sjoens
Thanks for clarifying. Simply saying the names are all screwed up doesn't describe the actual problem. 🙂

mettelus
That is definitely something to report to Cakewalk support, and it looks more like a font issue when I see that. Years ago I had Staff View go kerflooey and the underlying reason was the font that Staff View was dependent on for notation was missing from my machine. The proper font got posted (on the old forums) and that fixed it. If a font is missing from a machine, Windows (or a browser) will substitute its "best guess" as a replacement, but if that is totally off the mark, you will see things like what your screen capture is showing (in my case, Staff View was populated with Wingdings!). Only someone who can look at the installation package (bakers) would be able to see those details, so that is something to report back to Cakewalk directly. This has nothing to do with my post so disregard it. Curious tho if the Program browser does the same thing? Click "PROG> default" to open it. Not sure if Display Scaling or Ease of Access settings would affect this but maybe something to check. The SI window, and possibly Sonar itself may need to be closed and reopened after changing these.
