Pathfinder Posted yesterday at 02:58 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:58 AM (edited) OK I get it's free. I get no workspaces. But are we not allowed to view the synth rack? I truly hope I am just missing it.............I could handle that. Edited yesterday at 02:58 AM by Pathfinder
Chaps Posted yesterday at 03:05 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:05 AM I rarely use the synth rack so I might be missing something, but I can open it from the Views menu.

I have been doing that for many decades. I use it. But I restarted sonar 2X and still selecting with the mouse does NOT open it. The only one so far? Chaps Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM Maybe it's opening undocked and is hidden? The Keyboard shortcut for the synth rack view is alt+9 and that works for me, too. Does your browser open when you press b?

Does it have all the controls/parameter settings. etc. or is it a bare minimum synth rack? (I was looking at it myself earlier, asking these same questions, but I'm fading fast from a long day,)

Sorry, I am really tired. We used to be able to have rows of knobs that could be used to control parameters. But I am so tired and out of sorts from the heat and humidity, I can't find where they used to be. I am remembering them in the Synth Rack, but maybe in my overtired state I am misremembering how to access them and I can't find any forum pix I or others have posted. If you used those knobs assigned to synth params, you'd probably know what I mean. If you never used them, it probably makes no sense. From CbB Reference Guide: We could add a row at a time for knobs and assign params. I haven't used those param knobs in a while. I will try to see if the Free Tier has them tomorrow (assuming my mental abilities return). Edited yesterday at 04:07 AM by User 905133
Pathfinder Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 05:26 AM (edited) At least I can go to bed knowing that Cakewalk has somehow targeted people like me, who complained and had threads closed because of the OH SO POPULAR subscription without a perpetual option. OK I am ONLY KIDDING but for me, it's definitely to dive into Studio One and Reaper............................... Bristol_Jonesey Posted yesterday at 06:20 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:20 AM Synth Rack View is NOT on the official list of items not available in Free tier. (Neither are Workspace)
msmcleod Posted yesterday at 11:57 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:57 AM The SynthRack is fully functional in the free version.
dougalex Posted yesterday at 04:01 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:01 PM Not sure if this is related but... I (thought I) was not getting a particular floating window to appear, then I realized it was there somewhere on my desktop, but very small (a little rectangle). I do NOT mean "minimized", I mean the window was sized to a tiny rectangle (as in the "restore" size was smallest possible size). Once I dragged the edges and sized it properly, I was all set.

sjoens Posted yesterday at 06:15 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:15 PM Assigned Controls and the buttons to open them only show when Synth Rack is floating or in Multidock. They are hidden when docked in the Browser. You can add knobs by right-clicking an available spot.

PS: Unfortunately, the unexpanded quotation I used to reply "Verified" only showed the CbB Reference Guide section showing what the Docked module looked like; it had to be expanded to see what I had posted last night. Pathfinder
It was there-but had a small little pict to toggle it into view.. Thanks to all for the help... The synth rak may be old fashioned, I know I can just drag fx plugs, etc, etc but I find it easier to edit, make changes to the plugs this way. It's old school maybe but so am I. Thanks again folk-much appreciated!~ Edited 22 hours ago by Pathfinder
