Old projects created in SONAR professional using TH3 from overloud

I have just changed over from SONAR professional to the new Cakewalk SONAR after my laptop crashed. I have a number of SONAR projects created in SONAR professional  which used the plugin TH3 for guitar amp effects but when I open one of those projects in the new SONAR the plug-ins are missing. Can anyone suggest how I can proceed with these old projects? Do I have to find another guitar sim plug-in and use that to replace all of the instances of tracks where I was using TH3, or is there a way to access this old plug-in? I'd be grateful for any advice. Thank you.

Re-install the Cakewalk version that TH3 came with. If you use the Advanced installation method you can skip installing the program files and just install the plugins that are missing. Then re-install the latest version of Sonar. That's what I would do, anyway.

If it was registered and you can login to the Legacy Cakewalk website you might be able to download the program from there. If it was registered and you don't know your password Cakewalk support might be able to straighten that out for you.

You can check out the Overloud site to see if anything interests and you can sign up for a free account. Sometimes they offer things for free. Other companies offer free guitar sims. Here are two that I use.

Guitar Rig 7 Player

IK Multimedia Free Guitar Sims and Other Stuff

This got my curiosity because when I rebuilt my computer I installed TH-U which I had bought the basic version for $30 I think last fall.

But it is missing stuff like the Compressor pedal and a few Amps that I had used.

Reading this I did a little digging and first yes TH3 was included with Artist/Professional and Platinum.

But oddly I don't see any installers for it on my Command center or products pages.

I guess it is in the program installer and I must of missed it while installing Platinum.

@warrickhale      A few things to understand. You will need to remember your email and password to your old legacy sign in. It was the same one used to get on the old forum. Then you will need to download and install the new version of the Cakewalk Command center, the old one won't work. It's found here ttps://legacy.cakewalk.com/Command-Center

You can also use that log in to get at all your products going back to X1.

If you get there membership version of Sonar, it includes THU which is backwards compatible with th3. Any projects containing th3 will be automatically migrated to thu

Noel, Many thanks for your for your response, I had just found out the information on THU. However although I have actually purchased the membership version of Sonar on Bandlab when I launch the program it says it is the 'evaluation version' and displays a 'Get Membership' button. When I press that button it says 'you are already a member'. So this is frustrating, I cannot access THU and I seem to just have the evaluation version.  Can you assist with this, I don't want to have to go back to an older Sonar.

If this new TH-U is tied to the membership plan then you might want to consider going directly to Overlouds site and purchasing a permanent license like I did. Then it’s yours for life as well as it is not just tethered to one Daw.
Sign up for Emails and get some great deals on more add on’s. I bought the American Classic addition for under $20. Only thing missing is that very cool compression pedal.

This was sort of mentioned above, but any registration associated with the TH line should be done through Overloud (support link here), not Cakewalk. Have you tried reaching out to them directly? Overloud was one of the few vendors who bent over backwards to support the SONAR refugees during the great Gibson debacle (even unlocking the Cakewalk-specific plugins for us). Their support team is top notch... I recommend reaching out to them directly and explaining your situation. You most likely have an account with them already if you registered TH3, but your situation is one I am sure they are aware of (the Cakewalk-specific versions "vanished"). Of the few times I have touched base with them, issues were resolved in less than a day with a single email.
