Camero Jones
What is wrong with the engineers and software developer at Band Lab. You should be washing pots in a taco truck instead of creating software. How could you take one of the most stable DAWS on Disk format and turn it into an absolute buggy piece of crap with a subscription service. Your software crashes every single day. Every new update is worse than the last. Every time I click the mouse something unexpected happens. It adds a lane, a single track expands to the whole screen or clip properties opens up when selecting multiple clips. When you click the help button it takes me to your update page that tells me how much you suck by listing all the bugs you fixed instead of a help reference page. Its an all day pull my hair out **** show dealing with your software. It sucks!!! This is what happens when you rely on AI to write your code you lazy incompetent smucks. Learn how to code!!! Kevin Walsh
Come on, friend, don't be shy. I know there's something on your mind so just spit it out. Seriously, though, my system is always connected to the internet, is used for software development, and is always having products installed and removed from it. I also have my machine setup to receive preview releases of Windows 11 updates and features so I'm a pretty good candidate for instability. In spite of all that, sonar runs well on my machine. It does crash from time to time if I've installed a product that delivers an out-of-date MSVCRT library, in which case a simple reinstall of sonar will fix you up. If that won't fix your install, you could try reinstalling your ASIO drivers for your audio interface, and then if that doesn't help, check your machine for malware. Failing those things, you might consider trying to narrow down the problem areas you are experiencing and posting them here. In a lot of cases, many crashes are caused by ill behaved plugins, so if you have a list of the ones that you use, that may help. There's a great many people who participate in this forum who are happy to help you. If all you want to do is rant and swear at people, you probably won't get anywhere and you may as well just go buy another product. Best of luck! noynekker
@Camero Jones So , 2 posts, and over usage of the word "suck" . . . makes me wonder what was your first post ? . . . a glowing review no doubt. @Kevin Walsh . . . nice post, though, I would be surprised to see this OP actually reach out for help here. I would offer to help, but all I can offer is my experience that Cakewalk software has recently become even more stable than ever before, and that's the main reason I continue to use it, despite subscription confusions. Anyways, it's kind of an over the top misplaced critique of some amazing software, maybe this belongs on another forum, or nowhere at all.
Camero Jones
I have been using this product exclusively for over two decades, since windows XP and have never had a problem until I switched to their subscription service. I have two decades worth of Cakewalk projects that I can't work on because the behavior of Cakewalk is as unpredictable as it could possibly be. I know I have the requirements to run the software or it would not install. Just in the last hour I got ten minutes of productive work out of that hour of recording because windows pop up out of nowhere and I have to re adjust my Cakewalk recording panels all the time. I have scanned this computer thoroughly for viruses and I disconnect from the internet when recording. I have it installed on two different computers and have reinstalled Cakewalk twice on both and still nothing but erratic behavior on both computers. And it's been like this for over two years both on their previous free version and now there paid subscription. This current software is like driving an AMC Gremlin in the Indy 500. But my number one gripe is that, if I was so incompetent when I was a web developer for GE, Sunoco, Payless Shoe, etc, etc, and I linked the button that said Help and it went to the 'how many bug fixes page' of the latest update instead of the help files I would have been escorted out of the building. That show of incompetence I cant comprehend which in my opinion is carried throughout the entire Cakewalk software package and now I am stuck with Cakewalk because I would bet I have over twenty thousand hours of project time on this DAW and don't have another decade to master another DAW. And yes I tried all of your suggestions and then some but it has gotten worse.

Nice rant. And due to the vast amount of relevant information you've provided about your pc, your system in general and what you've tried to so far to fix the problem, I'm sure people are queueing up to provide you with the unique solution to your problem. 1
Wookiee
Due to your unnecessary personal attacks on the staff there is only one option, but to lock your post. Now if you would like to post again, with a better attitude, giving actual details of your systems issues, along with details of your computer, CPU, make model, RAM, sound card, etc we might be able to help. On a side note CbB, Cakewalk Sonar & Cakewalk Next all run fine on two different PC 's for me one running Windows 10 the other Windows 11. In the 33 years of using Cakewalk products I can honestly say I have never had a serious issue. 10
