LP-64 Multiband compressor/limiter

Recommended Posts

The LP-64 Multiband was included in Cakewalk X3 Studio and I have used this on quite a number of projects. It works OK in Cakewalk by Bandlab, however, it does not work in the new Sonar (trial). The new Cakewalk Sonar (trial) does not recognize the FX in existing projects and crashes if I try to add it on new projects. I reported this to Cakewalk several months ago in the hope that there may be a fix but I have had no reply. The LP-64 was not included with Sonar Platinum, so I was wondering whether it has been ditched because of this, but as mentioned there are no problems with CWbBL which is has all the Platinum attributes.  Any thoughts?

@Cyril Johnson both of the linear phase plugins were initially additional purchases. I have them both and will check them in both CbB and the new Sonar. I see no reason why they shouldn't work.

Having reread your post I suspect the issue is as simple @Cyril Johnson as you are using the trial version. The LP's were locked to Sonar.

I just checked it in my Sonar - this plugin works completely normally, I have a rather old version - 1.0.3.84 from the "Additional Content" from the SONAR X3 I bought back then.
The most likely reason for your failure with this plugin, it seems to me, is either incorrect installation/activation, or the absence/outdated versions of dynamic C++ libraries, read the content of this post on this topic, here you can also download the necessary Visual C++ set:

Thanks for comments, I may have to take a leap of faith.

As I said I checked today and they work fine, I did have to make sure I was logged in to the old CCC to authorise there use.

Hey!

I'm experiencing the same problem as @Cyril Johnson. If I try to add the LP-64 Multiband effect, Sonar crashes.
Strangely enough, the effect loads in existing projects, but there is no sound output from the plugin until I flick the plugin power button off and on again. Then it works for existing projects, but I can't make it work for new projects.

I've used this effect extensively in previous projects and would love to see a solution to this.

While I suppose that would technically work, it's an unpractical solution, and the power switch in the plugin still has to be toggled to wake it up.

Oh I agree, and that power switch thing is a bit weird.

Send a dump file and we can see what's crashing
