Very nice Barry.
I really like your vocals and how you have brought them forward.
Story line is good too.

We all paint different pictures...  but for me the snare is very monotonous with the same tone all the time.

Beautiful acoustic, built in bridge mic or couple freestanding  mics, vocal great to.

Only one suggestion and its a big one: 100% learn to program those drums, i would hit he odd crash or ride and some basic fills, maybe something like a double tap on the kick when the progression changes.

Apart from that great tune

Excellent point. I actually planned on doing that, but it slipped my mind. Back to the track!

Great stuff Barry ! The vocal, lyric and the acoustic guitar are magical to listen to. You've really captured the right intonation and range for your vocal in this recording. Others have mentioned the drums . . . though, the song is not about drums. Even so, if you made the drums splash along with the arrangement some more, an exceptional song would be made better . . . just a fan's opinion. I'll go leave my like on SC.

Great vocals Barry ! Very cool lyrics and Really Nice guitars. I heard a single guitar/vocal song the other day and immediately liked it. Realized afterwards he sounded like you but not as refined.     Enjoyed it ..   mark

Lovely guitar and vocal - great storyline too. Agree on the drums - have you had a listen to it without them?

Just a thought... 🤔

Enjoyed it.

Enjoyed it. Sentimental. Like traditional story telling song with fuller instrumentation. I like that your pleasing voice is so prominent and easy to understand as the words are meaningful and the theme universal. Nice choices, works well. Since the drums are plain I'm guessing this version isn’t with revised drums.

I spent some time on the drums. Added some fills and dynamics, plus I experimented with the "no drums" suggestion and decided it would be good to hold them off until the second verse.

What do you all think?

Very nice Barry.
As I said before I love the vocal.
I prefer this new version... well done.

We all paint different pictures..  I wouldnt be afraid to bring the kick up and knock a little top end of the snare..

A great story, well played and sung.  The lyrics are very nice. I like it. The drums are ok for me except the timing seems off just a hair, but I have a cold right now so that could be why.

If any timing is off, it's mine! Those drums is digital, man.

That's my, er, analog sound, striving for authenticity, yeah, that's it, that's the ticket... 😉

Thanks, Gary. I think this is one of my better ones.

I think the point I was trying to make is that the drums are out of sync with your playing.  Your playing is in time as far as I can tell.  You could try to nudge the drum tracks to see if that makes any difference, especially if you programmed them in clips.  As I said though, I have a cold and it could just be my hearing.
