ui UI goes crazy during playback

I am working on a project, when I opened it most recently the UI goes crazy, but only during playback. During playback the console section of the UI keeps turning on and shutting down. It looks like it is rapidly changing between different Workspaces, but the name of the workspace doesn't change. 

Anyone have any idea why this would happen?

It doesn't seem to happening with playback of all the different projects I have been working on recently.

Can you expound on this a bit? Is the console redrawing itself (flickering with a black space where it was) or is it actually opening/closing (revealing the view behind it)? I have not seen a redraw issue before, but if the console is opening/closing you might have stuck keyboard keys or sending spurious show/hide commands to SONAR via a plugin. If you can post a brief video of that it would help us understand what you are seeing.

I don't think that it is a stuck key issue because it only happens in this project. If there is a way to clean this project that would be a fine workaround, but I did a lot of precise time manipulations and I don't want to start from scratch.

You could try a "save as" and make sure to check the keep audio with project setting at the bottom of the save dialog. Don't know if this will fix the issue but it is worth a try.

Make sure you safe it to a different location or folder

"Looks like" a video driver conflict or a corrupt project.

If you're on default Workspace try opening in Safe Mode removing all plugins to eliminate them as the cause.  If it goes away, bring them back one-by-one until it happens again.  If it still happens with no plugins then it's something else.

If you need to rebuild the project you can drag all the clips to a new project.

I tried to create a new project and drag clips, but when I added the first synth Addictive Drums 2 and did playback, it started making the problems again. So I am updating what I can and hoping for the best.

I see OBS Studio in you taskbar. Does this issue persist if that's shut down?

OBS might have been used just to capture the video (thanks for posting that). If that is one project and repeatable, that is worth sending off the the bakers (sans audio) for them to take a look at. That is not merely the Console opening/closing as I was initially thinking, but does look more like an issue with work spaces cycling on their own. @Noel Borthwick may pop in and give better guidance, but only the bakers would be able to dig into that project file to see what is going on with it.

It could be a MIDI message that is bound to a keyboard shortcut.

Take a look at your keyboard shortcut settings, and see if you've got MIDI checked... if you have, uncheck it:

I dunno. Could be related to newest massive win update? Last few days I've noticed a different anomaly with Cakewalk UI.   GUI would  suddenly   shrink to 1/4 size  (all of it, like zoom out on whole thing) for a few seconds, then released to normal size, and be OK for the rest of the time while opened. I wonder if Win update screwed something up in graphics. Never seen this before.
