mark skinner
Hello , here's an instrumental (for now) that I've gotten far enough along to post for suggestions. It's pretty bare boned with a high strung acoustic and an electric guitar . Both in a raised DADGAD tuning with bass and cello. MT Power drums and a single kettle drum from TTS. I've already heard a cello part that needs addresed. Funny how you hear different things once it's uploaded to a streaming service. Thanks for the listen and any crits or suggestions. Link now reflects New mix and "Gary Brun" master. 1/20/25 Thanx .. mark https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14919168 Edited Monday at 04:12 PM by mark skinner
equality
Great sounding pentatonic, folkish, jazzy mix. The two(?) guitars fit perfectly together as do the rest of the mix. Perhaps I miss a lead vocal, flute or saxophone, perhaps not. It's very good as it is. Nice!
noynekker
Mark, sounds excellent ! . . . sounds like you have a main theme and then variations of that theme. Overall, it's a very "lay back and chill" listen, I really enjoyed all the guitar creativity. My main suggestion (if you wanted to make it more into a song format) would be to somehow get back to that guitar riff you start out with (right when the drums first kick in) . . . that's the money right there, very catchy, and stood out strongly to my ears. I can hear a lot of vocal possibilities as well . . . so hope you explore that as well. Great stuff, as always Bruce
PJH
Hi Mark, I really like this! I agree that you should concentrate on the melody at the beginning. Definitely worth developing! Well done!

mark skinner
@equality , Thanks , yes it for sure needs something .. @noynekker , Appreciate it Bruce , I only found one spot I can get back to the opening riffs without it sounding strange. This alternate tuning is a litttle hard for me to some find good changes. @PJH, Thanks for confirming Bruces suggestion. I for sure consider you the King of melody's from all of your past posted songs. @jack c. , Thanks Jack. I'm not for sure what I'll do with this one yet but a guitar melody lead would probably be the easiest for me. All I've got to do is find one ! I thought the song was dragging some so .. the version that's up was sped up a couple of bpm. @garybrun sent me a master at the original bpm. It sounded so Good I'm going to slow it back down and send him a revised mix when I get it done. I'll be playing in this Alabama snow for a few days first .. Thanks for the support .. mark
