Hi Steve - I like this a lot - as KS said, a bit of a Peter Gabriel vibe, in a very good way.

this really is a well written and recorded track

cool stuff

Nigel

Many thanks for listening, for me it's a bit bubblegumy but my concentration was on production and mixdown, something you do in spades Nigel !  I absolutely love to think this has a  Gabriel vibe ... so thanks for that KS

I liked it best of all for the varied tonal palette, and the "Pink Gabriel" vibe. The chorus hits in a good way, very catchy.

I wonder if your guitar lead noodle in the chorus might mask the chorus vocals a bit? Might be worth a check.

You might also be prepared to explain to the kids what "writing letters" was. 🙄

Excellent tune and a polished production!

This is so good! Great feel to melodies, vocals and the whole arrangement. Love this, don't change a thing.

Thanks for the compliment and listening 👍

I seem to be going through a dry patch at the moment and the song has taken me some 6 weeks to write and finish. I always take on board your observations and I'm made up you listened and commented .. so thanks. I'll have a check on the guitar as I'm awful, even after all these years of playing !

Thanks again M8

I like the slightly dark undertone and the arrangement, my only minor crit is I am not a huge fan of the instrument at around 2:30 (is it a pad)? It just seemed a little out of place with being such a high register, but this is just a matter of taste and doesn't mean you should change it.

Overall really nice job.

Hi Andy,

I take your crit and not sure I agree, but as you say, it's a matter of taste ... I guess if I was honest I would love to have dropped a guitar track in there, but I'm not that proficient so it's the Irish pipe + FX     LOL

Thankyou for listening and your comments much appreciated.

Beautiful song, Steve.  That percussive beat in the background works really well.  There's something about the guitar during the chorus that really boosts the emotions (in me anyway)
Great job as always.

Hi M8 ..Wishing you and the misses a great new year 👊

Many thanks for the comments, The story is for my eldest daughter ( Plus 3 kids ) she had a pretty bad relationship with her husband, unbeknown to us how bad he treated her and the kids ... really screwed them up ... she is trying to move on and doing well ... this song was just a message to let her know we're always here.
