He shoulda just stuck with bridge similes. Yeah, you can sort of hear the join lyrically, but I do like how musically it becomes real big and epic sounding. AG (if it really was him) called that right for me. Maybe PS was hoping that those in the extend it camp would think the same about his lyrical additions and he would get his way after all? 😀
Mr No Name
I don't listen to that song much, but if it ever comes on the radio I make a point of stopping what I'm doing or thinking about to have a proper listen.

With those great Eagles harmonies. Actually 'Best of my Love' is one of my all time favorites. There's a reason theyve sold so many dang albums.

AndyB01
Can't disagree with the choice of Bridge Over Troubled Water but my top choice would be She's Always A Woman by Billy Joel. Every time I hear it played, I just have to stop and listen to remind myself what a work of sheer genius it is. Andy

Heartfelt & clever lyric writing with beautiful music & melodies. And his bridges are MASTERFUL. Like the bridge in this song and "My Life". They're very long bridges that slowly and beautifully unfold with advanced chord changes. You can't fake that. That takes lots of talent & musical vision.
Sal Sorice
Chopin Nocturne in E Flat Major? I know, a bit off topic, but it's kinda like a song...😁

Btw, that's why I posted this thread. I was curious to see the varied responses. I was also curious if anyone would have a favorite that's uptempo or even rocking. So far, Seven Wonders is the most uptempo. I myself have always played mostly Rock & Hard Rock yet my favorite songs are all ballad type songs. The ballads just seem to reach deeper. Sal Sorice
Wow, I'm ashamed to admit that there are a bunch of songs that have been cited that I did not know (or have not heard in a looong time). There is so much great music out there - just wish I could write some of it... 🙃

You may still have a couple great songs in you. And if not, there's always the option of plagiarism 🤔

Chaps
Hard to pick just one (or three). These three are songs that echo in my mind long after the music stops.
