Actually between $179 USD to $499 USD a year, cheaper if you buy multiyear packages. Apple certs run around $100 per year. (maybe $10 if you consider splitting that cost over their numerous products) I've seen some cheaper Windows certs but they're issued per person not per company. But do 100% agree that a company IKM's size really should have their products signed. If I was IKM, I would probably do a quick nice group buy just for collecting money for the necessary signing (hint.. hint..) 1 3
Guest Heath Row Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) I hope no one is running the latest T-Racks 5, Amplitube 5, Sampletank 4 or TONEX? because guess what? ? I know they are to large for VirusTotal, but . . . ? Edited October 1, 2023 by heath row
simon Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 That's the third time you've posted your family photo - and it just gets funnier every time. Just wondering, which one is you and did you make that hat yourself ?

Canopus Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I don’t have anything from IKM, but I do have a lot of things from UVI. They have the same bad habit of not signing their Windows installers. I get a feeling Windows is almost an afterthought for many plugin manufacturers. "Yeah, right. What’s it called? Windows? I guess we have to make an installer for that as well. Oh, putain! I have to catch the bus in ten minutes, but I’ll try to squeeze it in! Isn’t there a Windows computer somewhere down in the basement?" 1 3
telecode 101 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I have yet to upgrade the IK products. Just waiting for all this to settle down. 2

Marvin B Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 (edited) I stumbled over this as well. Really worrying that a company in times like these does not sign the installers. Not sure how old this faq is: IK Multimedia FAQ, but it seems like they have troubles with virus scanners in general? Maybe @Peter - IK Multimedia could comment on this one? Windows is still the biggest market - the issue I think has more to do with the fact that Windows allows you not to go down the "certification" path and still release something. Anyone that has released iOS apps/products knows Apple requires a fair amount of hoop jumping. You can release something with Windows to a wide audience without any interaction with Microsoft or giving them a dime. The "warning" pop-ups for unsigned applications seems pretty new in the long history of MS where you really feel like MS is telling you it might be blocked or is a potentially bad idea to install something. DeeringAmps Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) The C drive on my office rig “puked”, Win 10 is reinstalled, CbB and all my ToonTrack. FUG it! I went ahead and installed PM; no issues with MS Defender... t Edited October 6, 2023 by DeeringAmps 1
antler Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Hey @Peter - IK Multimedia Just a thought: if IK don't want to sign their Windows binaries (for whatever reason), would they consider putting up SHA-256 checksums or something so people can verify their downloads if they want to? 1
Music Software Deals Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Cloud based software signing is around $500 for 3 years (literally just bought it recently myself) and let's you sign without the use of a hardware key. It's simple to setup and get approved for 4
Kirean Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 (edited) So I had to upgrade to 1.0.8 in order to access my software and antivirus software still lit up during installation due to "Trojan Lokibot" (or "Trojan.TR/AD.SessLogger.tixjz") found in availability.exe.
