freddy j Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Veeerrryyy nice guitar playing indeed! Love the sound. It has a bit of a jazz-blues feel to it with a touch of B B King thrown in. Good solid mix with good separation! Nice Work! 1
RikF Posted April 6, 2023 Author Posted April 6, 2023 Hi Freddy, thanks for listening, glad you like it, you're spot on with the BB King reference ? RIK
mark skinner Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Enjoyed that Rik. Cool how you can Nail a blues song shortly after Nailing a classical nylon guitar song. mark 1
Kevin Walsh Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Nice playing! It sounds like you had great fun, and the tone is very sweet. Love that progression, I noodle over it too but I'd never let anyone hear it. 1
RikF Posted April 7, 2023 Author Posted April 7, 2023 Hi Mark, thanks for listening, variety is the spice of life ? Hi Kevin, thanks, it's fun to noodle ? Rik
Bajan Blue Posted April 8, 2023 Posted April 8, 2023 Real cool playing Rik - like it very much. Blues was my first love when I got my first electric Guitar when I was about 13 - i hardly ever play it now, so its nice to hear someone who can play it and play it very well indeed Cool Stuff Nigel 1
RikF Posted April 8, 2023 Author Posted April 8, 2023 Hi Old Joad, thanks for listening. Hi Nigel, thanks, glad you like it,I've got the blues for 50 years now, no matter what style I'm playing ? Rik
Keith Wilby Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I wrote some lyrics and added vocals. Perhaps someone clever could put the two together? https://www.bandlab.com/post/65048b73-7fd7-ed11-9f73-6045bd31b578 1
RikF Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 This is very disrespectful, you don't post your own tune in other peoples thread, see first post of the forum. You want a free guitar solo but can't be bothered to ask me directly, but put me on the spot on this forum, not nice. I made my project forkable on bandlab so if anyone wants to add something to it, be my guest. You didn't make yours forkable btw. Sorry about the rant. Rik
DeeringAmps Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Tasty licks and tone to be sure. Personally I've never delved into BandLab at all, and have no idea what "forked" means. Pretty sure though that @Keith Wilbywas just trying to get some collab going and did not mean to be disrespectful. (I'll get me hat as they say...) t

Yes indeed, disrespect on here is the furthest thing from my mind, plus this isn't "my own tune" [sic] anyway, and a "free guitar solo" wouldn't benefit me in any way, I just thought it would be a bit of a hoot and bring a smile to peoples' faces. I thought we were all one big happy band here and, for the record, I did invite you @RikF to collaborate on the Bandlab project. I'm a complete newbie to "forking" but if I set the project privacy wrong or got the etiquette wrong then, in the greater scheme of things, it's not really a big deal is it? And quite how I "put [you] on the spot" is a mystery to me I'm afraid. 1
Guest Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Forking netiquette aside for a moment (I'm sure you guys will work things out - I also doubt any disrespect was intended) - this is nicely played - very enjoyable. Andy
RikF Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 Hi Deeringamps, thanks for listening. Hi Andy, thanks for listening Rik 1
