hhal9000
I've just installed Cakewalk and I can't get the instruments to work. I keep getting this error when I try to play them:
Mark Williams
I have a similar issue, the studio instruments are installed but when attempting to use them I receive a message that they are not installed correctly and to use the original disc?!? Jonathan Sasor
@hhal9000 Please try downloading it via the web installer as opposed to BA, and let us know if that works for you. @Mark Williams I'm sending you a PM.
hhal9000
Managed to install with the web installer after several re-instalations with the Bandlab Assistant. But I'm still getting the same error with the studio instruments:see attached image.Just re-installing the program doesn't seem to work. What is the fix for this please? would love to use this program but at the moment it's pretty useless. scook
There still may be a problem with the MS redistributable libraries You can download them from Microsoft or use this special installer @Jonathan Sasor built. If you elect to get them from Microsoft you will need the x64 versions for "Visual Studio 2012", "Visual Studio 2013" and "Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022"

scook
Probably need to wait for @Jonathan Sasor (or someone else from the staff) to return to the thread

scook
There have been several reports over the last two days. Jon knows about it and I am sure the staff is reviewing the issue.
Annie
Do I need to uninstall everything/perform regedit before installing via the Cakewalk Web Installer? Perhaps I should wait till I have more words...
hhal9000
I do think the web installer is a big improvement over the Bandlab assistant and once the problems get smoothed out should be the default method for instalation. Then maybe the Bandlab assistant could be re-introduced in improved form.It needs progress bars for instance when downloading and installing updates. THE JimmiChanga
Im having the same problem. Just installed the desktop version yesterday after using the web based version for a few months. Any time i try to open up the SI instruments I get an error stating that it wasn't properly installed and to reinstall through CD. The instrument itself still pulls up into the DAW, though it produces no sound or recording inputs.

abacab
Just updated to the latest Cakewalk by BandLab (2021.09, Build 145) from within an existing CbB installation, and no errors here [Menu > Help > Check for updates]. Maybe something is not quite right with the current full installer?

hhal9000
It would be great if this is fixed.I did use the web installer a few days ago but if it's been fixed what is the instalation procedure. i.e is it important to do a clean instal with all the various registry deletions or can I just update it with this new version of the web installer and write over the previous one.
