Jude Lugari
Howdy, I recently downloaded a VST plugin from ghosthack.de. It turns out that all of the loops are .wav files, and there are no .dll files. I'm assuming that this is why the VST scanner in Cakewalk isn't picking up the plugin? So, can I still use it with Cakewalk? Thank you
scook
A VST plug-in must include at least one dll binary file or there is nothing for the VST scanner to scan or the DAW to load as a plug-in. A collection of wav files is just that...a collection of audio clips. Audio clips may be added directly to audio tracks, loaded into the Matrix view or loading into a sample playing plug-in such as the ones mentioned in this thread
Jude Lugari
Thanks, I'll check out some of those options!
Nigel Mackay
Ghosthack is sample packs only. Not a VST. You put them somewhere on your hard-drive. Preferably where you will store any other samoples you get. Then you follow the last line in @scook's post. Enjoy.
