David Sprouse
I'd sequence the third phrase of each stanza (in the verses) down or up a whole step for variety(it can help to avoid that iambic bouncy-ness). Otherwise, I like the musical performances, and it's an interesting perspective on this whole mess that we call society. :D:D (democracy is messy <col. rumsfeld>) Edited May 3, 2020 by David Sprouse
DeeringAmps
A+ on the guitar tone, the kick is hitting me. Like that change up in the chorus, yeah man. Piano solo in a metal setting, wowser! tom all ready used my "backfield in motion" for the day, but ? from me...
Harry C.
@David Sprouse: down or up a whole step for variety is a good idea which i actually only know from pop songs. Ok in this song could it work. Thanks. @DeeringAmps: Tom thank you for listening and for your ?
bjornpdx
Not your typical metal tune, esp the piano and the vocal, but a very good song. The organ stood out to me, as did the excellent guitar work.
Harry C.
Thank you very much Bjornpdx, I am amazed that you can still remember my older songs. The song Slave Of The State has a very special meaning right now. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/584-sos-slave-of-state/&tab=comments#comment-4125 My Songs on Youtube can you find here:Ciodontrax Videos
Douglas Kirby
I really liked that organ - it added a cool flavor to the song. The guitar solo was quite nice. Your lead vocal was intense - that's how I would describe it - it fit the song. I thought the mix worked well.
Lynn Wilson
You have a very powerful voice which conveys the lyrics very well. I think you've broken a mold here, but who's complaining? Thanks for putting the link to your videos up for view, can't wait to check them out. Kudos!

Bapu
Hi Harry, nice toon. Guitar tones are schweet. Vocals are nice. The double speed feel change is an excellent choice. I kept waiting for some doubled harmony vocals and they came in a little too late for me. A personal taste thing I'm sure.
Harry C.
Thanks a lot babu for listening. Yes the harmony singing is always a big thing for me. I wish I could choose the best singer for each song. Thanks again.
freddy j
I echo the comments above concerning the use of a piano in a metal song and that interesting change up. The song was not what I was expecting but it all worked very well indeed. Thanks for posting the link - I look forward to listening/looking at your other creations. Well done!
Harry C.
Hi Freddy, thanks for your nice comment, but why do you think this is a metal song?
freddy j
Hi Harry C. -- good question! I guess for a number of reasons: the picture; lyrical subject; and to me it brought up images, not of the many varieties of today's metal, but what was called metal back in the olden days (late 1960's and early 1970's). To me that seemed to be a transition time from psychedelic to what was to be called metal. However, that is an opinion and you know the value of opinions. ? Anyway, I enjoyed it.
Leadfoot
Nice job on this Harry! I listened to it a while back, but forgot to leave a comment. Guitars sound great. I like the vocals too. Mix is nice!
