Get 61% off Beatskillz Synthwave Keys until September 1st.
Christian Jones replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Thanks. Yeah that's what has to be done with Dark KZ; you have to make daw presets and sometimes they're not recalled correctly or consistently. Is it common for a lot of synths out there to not provide for user presets to be saved? Just about all of my 3rd party synths are for Kontakt and I dig it's individual preset file mechanism that it and the other NI synths have. So it's pretty lame when I get a synth that can't even at least save presets within its own, thing -

Do do you know if this lets you save your own presets? I know Dark KZ doesn't and I don't get that -

Any have and use it? -
Not if you incidentally already own k12
-
Have you done that? Sounds tedious

Stuff like this is cool. You know if you have Komplete 12 you have Session Strings 2 and there's a few Motown presets in there.

I always forget that you have to buy the Pianoteq player thingy for several hundred bucks to use the other pianoteq things *sigh*
-
I did buy it, I got that and the Nembrini Marshall update today. I could have sworn I bought something else too but I seriously forgot though maybe it was the Emotional Cello update I got free. Oh I bought an area rug too and some orange light bulbs

I thought it was very clever sweetie Yeah he wouldn't let true iron go for that, I want that as well

I got a deal on the 1.0 version recently and installed it but haven't tried it yet, so I'll be starting with the new version and deleted the 1.0

https://honestampsimreviews.com/2019/07/13/mercuriall-audio-pedals/ I discovered that pedal right before I saw him review it but I agree with everything he says about it. YMMV I guess but for me and my baritone strat it beats any number of tube screamer and other dist pedals I've put in front of that amp and I have all the good ones -

With the Nembrini Marshall I recommend Mecurrial's Greed Smasher in front of it https://mercuriall.com/cms/details_freestuff -
What do you mean?

I have it and it's cool but there's no way to save presets. You have to make daw presets.

Scale Lengths and Tuning - Baritone vs 8 String
Christian Jones replied to Voda La Void's topic in The Coffee House
String guage. String guage and scale length go hand in hand especially the lower you tune. I play a Warmoth baritone strat which has a 28 5/8 scale length. I tune to Bb standard (technically A# but whatever) using D'Addario EXL157 14-68 guage and I've got perfect tension at that tuning, it feels like a regular strat tension because the scale length, string guage and tuning are all balanced out right. String brand also matters even at the same guage. Tosin definitely has a very heavy guage going which is why he's able to make that happen, probably a custom gauge. The longer the scale length the more snap and definition the strings will have. You can actually take a Les Paul with its 24 3/4 (or 24 5/8 of you're down for that argument) scale length and tune that thing down to C with the right string gauge; a lot of death metal guys would do that. You can get good feeling tension there but the tone will be really dark w/ not a whole lot of definition because of the short scale length. You need the right balance of scale length and string guage for a given tuning if you still want to have some twang and spank left at those low tunings. That's why a 34" (and especially a 35" scale like I play) bass guitar has that twang in the strings when plucked w/ a pick; scale length and heavy guage. -
I'm waiting till they pay me to get it

Signature Grand | Piano Library For Kontakt $49
Christian Jones replied to Simeon Amburgey's topic in Deals
Hmm, I'll be surprised if they get back to you, as they haven't been responsive to me. Anyway as I was typing this I just got an email from PayPal saying simple sam refunded me with no explanation and I didn't ask for that or do a dispute yet so I guess they must have read Simeon's thread just now or something idk. -

Signature Grand | Piano Library For Kontakt $49
Christian Jones replied to Simeon Amburgey's topic in Deals
Thanks Simeon. I guess it's ok.. but just about all of the "LA" presets in the Film section and some others need to have the direct mics rolled back a lot to get rid of the distortion, but then a lot of the body of the sound is lost. Do we not have direct control over the under-the hood effects? That would've been helpful. "Playing" this piano w/ the mouse is very revealing though, because every note when clicking on the bottom of the keys is full 127 velocity so I can hear what each notes sounds like at full 127 w/ every click; real chimey/pipey/clanky and metallic - not in a bad way per se, though I personally wasn't in love w/ how a lot of them sounded at full 127, but Idk. I need a proper midi keyboard
