FYI: I *always* run installers as admin and when I set my shortcuts for an app I always set them as run as administrator. That approach has yet to fail me unless I (occasionally) forget the 2nd step for the shortcut and it's needed.

Please do, as it is one of the ways it will get better and out of this open Beta phase.

I picked up new (in the box, never used) Audient SP800 expander for a crazy price of $500 off reverb. List price new is $909 from sweetwater. I had a Behringer ADA800 or whatever it's called. sold it off for peanuts. That will give me all the inputs I'll ever need with my 25 Appollo inputs and now this.

For right now VSTi multi-outs are not a deal breaker, nor is extensive MIDI editing. When I get tracks from other collaborators they are 99/100% pure audio (just like Ivory Soap). 99/100% of my "midi" is using EZdrummer/Superior and EZKeys (sometime EZBass) for skecthing out a song. This just might be the straight forward approach I need to KISS it at demo stage. We'll see.

Yup, FaderPort 16 and Console1 setup were easy as pie. I'm sure my Axiom will work out too. Just did not get around-tuit. Comping is how I need/want to record drums. All inputs need V1, V2, V3... etc. and then group those inputs to comp all tracks at once. I'm going try a rudimentary test on that tomorrow.

Yep, that's the one.

Just remember this is still open BETA, expect hiccups like this. FYI I opened LUNA (as @cclarry suggested in the other thread) and did the update there, not UA Connect).

Update to 1.6.2 solved one of my two VST3s causeing LUNA start failures. I restored vocalreverb.vst3 and LUNA started as expected. When I restored PAs obsolete SPL DeVerb LUNA failed to start (just disappeared)

This update did not affect my usage of the updated products.

The WHO won't get fooled again trying to regulate craigb (ITIHRN).

I only lost 2 VST3 (move them to an isolated place), one obsolete SPL DeVerb plug from PA and a reverb I don't think I've ever used (probably a freebie) called vocalreverb.

I had that error too. I think somehow my installs got borked up. I manually deleted all my installs and started over making sure I used the app to put the downloaded installers in an isolated place in the settings. Then for every one that errored on new install (some did, some didn't) I went to the downloaded installers folder and ran it from there. Long and convoluted and this was about a week ago. These new VD updates went without a hitch.

For the way I record drums using the Apollo ecosystem, yeah, it just might. In Studio One it takes bouncing between the SO Console and the UAD Console quite a bit to get the levels set. LUNA does away with the use of the independent UAD Console since it's integrated. One stop shopping and all that rot.

From their FAQ "While an iLok.com account is required, LUNA is authorized to your computer. No need to be online or buy a dongle to get started. Don’t worry, if you don’t have an ilok account, we’ll create one for you during the signup process. LUNA Extensions and UAD Plug-Ins are authorized using iLok Cloud or iLok USB."

Since I own every UAD plugin and instrument as well as 28 Unison channels on my Apollo ecosystem, LUNA could possibly be my go to for live recording (mainly drums).

Doing Anything Wrong

Success! I have a LUNA take off now.

I found the culprit for the scan fail. The old SPL DeVerb (not SPL DeVerb Plus) from PA and something call Vocal Reverb. These were both in the VST3 folder. I moved them to an isolated area for now.

I own them all. And of course...... Installed!
