So if if I added a new folder of samples to my master sample folder it would not be accessible? Sounds like a major flaw if so!

Mike's videos, especially the tutorials are excellent. I even watch the ones that are irrelevant to me as he has such an engaging manner. A really nice, thoughtful guy too and very supportive of other musicians. His Facebook Cakewalk group is popular as well ( declaration of interest - I'm a moderator of that group)

Now that the free version of Loopcloud doesn't allow you to update your own sample library is this a better option for sample audition and management? I've stayed on an old version of Loopcloud but it no longer integrates with the DAW. A shame as I have 'favourited' hundreds of sample in Loopcloud

I had issues when I tried to install it to my data disc with my other VSTs and was advised to install on system disc and it has been fine since then

Your issues are nothing to do with Cakewalk being free. It is a fully featured, constantly improving software programme previously retailing at around £400 which has excellent developer support including in this forum. People here will be only too pleased to help with any issues you have - just provide more detail. I've never experienced the problems you outline in years of using Sonar Home Studio and now CbB and I learned everything from scratch

Thank- I tried changing it to 400 then clicked ''Apply' but it didn't change. I tried a lower multiple of 8 and clicked Apply but still didn't change

Just loaded up one of the free libraries FRCTURE I can get it to play but it crackles - just checked another project with other synths installed an no problems there When opened MNDLA comes up with a message that 'buffer size of 441 samples is not supported - please change to a buffer with a multiple of 8'. I have tried to alter the buffer size but CbB doesn't seem to allow me to I'm using WASAPI Shared onboard Realtek sound chip at 44100 sampling rate. I know nothing about Sample Rates so don't want to mess with this without advice in case it affects anything else! I'm not that desperate to use the free sounds! Any ideas?

I agree that it seems a bit of an odd policy. However, and I'm not sure if it is the usual reaction, but when I got Total Studio 2 and realised later that I hadn't downloaded one of the sample packs, I explained this to support and they allowed me to download it for free. So if he hasn't paid yet he could explain his misapprehension and try asking nicely if they would do the same for him ?
