  1. Yup. Have them both. But to be honest my experience with EZB is not very big yet. Played with it few times so there is a big chance I missed how to do what I have tried better and easier. Anyway comparing both I prefer ASBs sound over EZB so far but not tried too much to play with amp sims and EZB yet. There is a chance EZB DI + great bass amp sim would give more possibilities to create sound. There is however option to mix pickups (for some reason in Effects) what change tone significantly. AS Basses have been also extended by lots of new nice features in ver3 like amp sims, better fxs. So far they have also policy not charging for any updates even if major version is changed... Very cool... I started with ver1 - now have ver3 and no single dollar asked for such upgrade even if they changed sample libraries and rebuilt GUI significantly with lots new nice features (like amp sims) ! Riffer is also very useful. It is still a little pain as always when needed to modify single notes to add flavors but much easier to deal with than programming key switches in plain MIDI track (what I personally hate as lazy old boy). They could improve it with adding some smart tools to do some mass operations... EZB gives another things which I really appreciate. I like direction of VSTi development to automate things about creation although they seem not to be all fully completed. For instance I recorded guitar into EZB and while it recognized properly my articulation idea translation was pretty terrible so anyway hard manual work needed in that case. Strong point of EZB is automatically adjusting bass to chord progression (like in EZKeys). Not possible inside AS (but if you are in Studio One you can try to use its power however articulation things need to be secured against transposition). I expect Toontrack will be releasing lots of styles MIDI libs for EZB soon so in case of having libs with proper articulations coded it will be many ready grooves to pick. But it will cost additional money for sure. ? About MIDI grooves currently available in EZB well... I picked randomly some and rather was not impressed.... To be honest lots of them are not interesting at all. I had hard times to match groove to chord progression to be happy with results. But maybe I am doing something wrong ? ? Or maybe bassists are playing such rubbish and I didn't notice Anyway provided by AS riffer bass examples sound like from different league to my ears... Although they are static - no option to automatically adjust to chords. You need do it manually. So again something better something not... Also in riffer there are examples sounding badly like tapping example on ABJ... brrr.. pour plastic... And you are browsing over files/directories... so not really convenient... In EZB you have nice browser with multiple filters like playstyle, genre, type, signature etc There is also interesting option in EZB Tap2find but it needs big MIDI library to really have chance for something what is close to what I tapped (52% of similarity for result is often useless). So maybe after buying some MIDI pack I would have better chance... Sorry for chaotic writing, little tired today after work so just putting what raises in my head when thinking of those plugins The more I am trying to compare them it is harder as they are so different animals... It is easy to be lost. Maybe best approach what to pick would be starting from what you really need to have like a creating of 'internal list' and see which one is closer ? Bass is kind of strange animal as in many mixes is destroyed anyway by distortions/saturation etc But what workflow you are planning to use? If you are songwriter I believe you will appreciate EZB for many things to make life easier. It is more complicated to learn then AS but for those helpers it is worth to spend some time to master it to minimize manual work (it is my plan On the other side if you are good piano player you could master AS keyswitches and be able to be happy with it... If I need something really fast only for practicing or experimenting sake I am recording it on guitar using THU and preset guitar-to-bass but of course it sounds little odd (although articulation is kept nicely
  2. I think EZinstruments are shining most because of lots of available MIDI usable for a different styles so providing way to use real players grooves. style, 'tricks'. I am happy to have EZkey not because it sounds exceptional (I just bought 'by design' only 1 EZ extension) but as platform for running all their MIDI libs and use them with other VSTi. I had similar concept with EZBass but it gave me much more to be honest. Don't care too much about sound as have other bass VSTi which I like (MODO or Trilian). I have no bass so no way to play even simple tracks by myself. So previously I often recorded guitar, converted it by Melodyne to MIDI and then use bass VSTi. But articulation things were poorly translated of course (not mentioning I cannot play all spectrum articulation of bass on guitar to sound as bass player) But with EZbass instead I can use it directly, having also available lots of MIDI groove/styles to use. But about providing and replacing tracks for bass (or other instruments) please do not forget about power of Band in a Box. Maybe it looks not too pretty and modern but it gives possibility to generate tracks for almost any chords progressions and it is real recording of real bass player so is pretty cool. The 'disadvantage' is here as it is audio track so if you are not happy about something you cannot edit it easily other way than audio (cut/replace/move etc) and there is not way to fully control what BiaB generates (if you like it you can freeze it - if not try again etc) . Anyway in many cases it is - I believe - the simplest way to have track which sounds like real bass track. However BiaB is not cheap with all real tracks especially audiophile edition if you would like to have the best possible quality... edit: Forgot mention: There are also pretty good Amplesound bass VSTis with riffer as tool to avoid painful work with articulation in MIDI directly but not compatible in this area with other manufactures VSTi of course.
  3. I don't know how about you guys but this is a deal I am waiting for most
  4. Only if you are aware very good about articulation nuances to provide it sounds like guitar with metal strings not plastic ones That guy : Tremendouz is caring about details and his work sounds pretty nice...
  5. Larry probably collect money for UAD sales
  6. Or... you could wait a little for group buy start... Summer is quite close
  7. Neve name also sounds great
  8. Yep, not pleasant thing... I am also less and less involved... Well, their lost as I could buy something every month if deals would be interesting... But maybe they do not care... Anyway Nothing really exited released lately from my perspective except AMEK which is too pricey to even think of
  9. Still nope... That voucher CHOP-2999 is decreasing plugin price to $29.99. Not by a difference of anything... So I am afraid it works as designed... But don't feel regrets about useless $25voucher this month... My $50 voucher gone in vain as well... Till last day hoped something will appear but no... I don't even try to offer it to anybody not to be funny... It is completely useless... Much better is to have $25 voucher so do not spend more than $300 over year ever for PA... They do not appreciate it.... Instead you will get penalties... like $75 limit... so forced to buy more plugins at once to get good deal...
  10. Well, maybe it is not bad idea to ask plugin owners for help with graphic files preparation in return for some voucher or so if they lack of men power ? I bet there are plenty of very skilled about graphic processing guys between us
  11. I am aware they need to prepare additional 4 sets for every GUI but the rest (like resize, switch picts etc is already in Windows API). I assume (maybe I am wrong) they have dedicated person(s) for graphic preparation. It is not so challenging for skilled person even if they didn't predicted it on beginning. Nowadays not only sound tools are very powerful
  12. Seems so I know I am little impatient Every update from PA I am expecting scalable'ish GUI for ALL and completely redesigned cabs loader for ALL amps which is the most terrible ever seen But every little child does know not to use in GUI design such windows control like drop-down list for longer lists. Especially with risk to be longer than screen height...
  13. Very nice, but buggy as hell... In CbB cannot use keyboard to search plugins and is listing in menu structures all possible Waves plugins (I actually have 4 available on my covid location machine so lots of useless clicking to find anything). Also when trying to figure out why using keyboard is not possible it seems to display something invisible with focus on it as cannot return back to CbB, remove it or do anything other then kill CbB by Windows task manager.
  14. I am disappointed... Adding scalable GUI for ALL plugins don't require so much effort as they have only few fixed values and are not really scalable (what is ok for me). So probably the 'hardest' thing is to prepare 5 different size pictures sets for all plugins (not that it would be nice to have it in design like license register support/checking etc). Just few plugins updated with possibility to scale and many still hard to see on smaller screens ?
  15. But actually it is the easiest way, Zo ... Going to folder with your VST2, marking all not wanted and DELETE ?
  16. I could successfully drag & drop between EZBass <-> explorer and EZBass <-> CbB both direction... 1.03
  17. Wow, wow, wow... Devels are working harder than when our beloved DAW was paid... Excellent update seems to be coming to us
  18. I am using the same strategy with EZKeys. Only 1 sound pack on bigger sale bought. Only buying MIDI packs and using them as MIDI track to feed other piano VSTi which I already have... But.... In this case I am afraid it could be not such simple... Straight notes probably no problem... But articulation things I wouldn't expect other bass VSTi react exact in the same way and sound the same way...
  19. And also few others in the same price. Using UG15 code even lower (-15%). https://ugritone.com/collections/midipacks/products/progressive-death-metal-essentials-midi-pack https://ugritone.com/collections/midipacks/products/deathcore-essentials-midi-pack https://ugritone.com/collections/midipacks/products/hc-essentials-drum-midi-pack https://ugritone.com/collections/midipacks/products/skate-punk-essentials-midi-groove-pack
  20. Hm, I must say... I am very disappointed... I was excited about Fender amp RIG but after hearing demo I just don't want it... Not interesting sound and not fenderish... While I respect Choptones guys for great job they should concern better demo video preparation... Still the same guy with the same tricks but different amps and different guitars sometimes shine when used differently... Not so many guitar players are so versatile that are able to provide all possible sounds. I think a session player could show much more... I know such guys like Wayne Krantz are rather pricey (although sounding like million dollars:) but there are now available so many session player stacked at their home so I guess there would be a chance for cost effective deal. And because there is no demo for RIG so no way to give it the second chance... The other RIG is showed with much more skills but still boring and after looking other video demos of other RIGs I am little tired constant soloing with switching presets in between... Why not play simple and characteristic motives for a preset? Who cares about scales, zylion notes/per second if she/he would like to judge quickly if another RIG really gives anything more Hm, or maybe it is only me and the others think those videos are brilliant ? ?
  21. Yep, I am aware, but current situation in my country is still not quite predictable. Not sure if when I will be moving to my prev location. If in few months I will go for it (anyway interesting how fast Waves would react and permit for it) but if it will be June I will survive somehow with 'thousand' of other plugins... But of course for some reason when I have no access I would like to use some Waves plugins badly Stupid human nature
  22. It is kind of my habit to forget about something... Sometimes towel, sometimes shaver, sometimes ilok... Not proud of that, maybe packing last minute is not best approach...
  23. To be honest it will be solved totally only when I have 2 licenses ? Unless I have usb stick implanted under my skin ?
  24. Don't be so cruel I didn't think of it and constantly moved licenses from comp to cloud and then in other location opposite direction... Now I feel sorry I didn't buy any dedicated usb stick for it. Anyway I could forget to grab it with me as well but after few times forgetting of iLok I pay more attention when packing things for move
  25. Well, maybe kind of "devil's" advocate job is tempting so I would like to express little different opinion... First of all, let's not forget they started 29$ revolution and without it many manufacturers would like still to sell with very high prices and having nothing to compare we would buy it... Another thing, yes, this deal is disappointing, after a short happy moment reading comments I realized what it really is... But... They just started... It doesn't matter too much it is bad deal as it will not hurt us, we will no buy and that's all. Nothing will change. What matter here imho is they started to consider providing 2 licenses for one plugin. First try probably will fail... from our point of view and also from theirs... But some time ago they started to consider completely different model of selling, different main target (not only profi but also homie and they gave us possibility to buy many great plugins for really affordable prices Believe me, I am really for getting more licenses as currently I cannot access my plugins as leaving my previous location 2 months ago I forgot to move them to cloud ? So currently I have what they gave free lately... But I am looking optimistic. They will observe market reaction and I believe their next moves will be more interesting... Anyway they picked kind of aggressive model of selling so they need to provide constantly something new and tempting... Sooner or later they will come to us with much better offers about it
