Mine arrived and they sound great, as expected. But I assumed it would come with a storage pouch like my other high-end phones, but no. Just this huge padded box, which is too big to store anywhere. Still, this is a pretty good deal.

And now there's the Beatnik Roots Folk Fiddle.

Just listened to Westwood's new untamed violin. It sounds pretty upfront to me. Lots of stuff there I wouldn't use, but it seems pretty raw to me, which is good.

Thanks for your insight, Tim. The Taylor Davis violin is on sale right now, too!

I heard some of those Celtic trebles here. Thanks for sharing!
-
Hi Jerrydf, regarding Joshua Bell, there's a Celtic articulation that involves a quick little flick of the right bowing hand to produce a quick little scratching sound (called a treble). Can the Joshua Bell instrument replicate that? I asked on the Embertone forum quite a while ago and never got a response. I guess no one there knows. Do you determine if it can do the treble articulation? Thanks,

... and AAS will swap any duplicate sound banks for you. There are 6 here!

Wait, there really isn't anything to download here. It's just a way to combine existing cabs in parallel paths to get 342 new sounds.

Izotope Everything Bundle Crossgrade from MPS4 or RX Advanced
fret_man replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
But this still doesn't include their PRO series from what I can tell. -
Couldn't withstand the chance to get these well-reviewed headphones at this price. I'm in....

What is the relationship between this and Ozone? Is it part of Ozone? Do I use it instead of Ozone?

I still have dogs scratching at the door, lawn mowers outside, the icemaker in the frig dumping ice, my LED lights buzz, the clock ticks (but I can move the clock), and my wife keeps starting the laundry. My mics seem to pick up EVERYTHING. Plus, there's a constant thermostat battle between my wife and I. I have been able to turn it up while recording but there are complaints about "Aren't you done yet? It's getting hot in here!" In the interest of peace, I need to find another way. Luckily, I can plug my mandolin in directly and use an EQ to get a really nice mic'd sound. I can't do that with guitars and banjos because their transducers are not good enough to get an untainted sound regardless of how I dial in EQ. I think it has to do with a transient/compressive/non-linear effect the transducers impart. An EQ is not enough to fix it. Maybe it's OK for a dense mix, but not for solo instrumentation, which is what this picked nylon VSTi seems to be targeted for.

Their Martin acoustic guitar bass is really nice as well. That's what got me hooked on their whole ecosystem. I needed some non-electric basses for some folky/roots music.

Any ideas how long this is on for? I need more time to argue my case to justify this expense.

Me, too, except I don't have a good tracking room so I will STILL use a virtual instrument.

Indiginus The Resonator for SampleTank (intro pricing)
fret_man replied to Peter - IK Multimedia's topic in Deals
Comparing the IK Resonator vs the Indiginus Resonator, is the only advantage to the IK version that it doesn't require Kontakt? I guess ST4 has some features not present in Kontakt? I have both Kontakt and ST4. What would cause me to favor one version over the other? Thanks for sharing insights. -
EWHO Diamond Opus Edition seems to be on sale for $795 right now. Is that right? That's a little much.
-
Hmmm, the Taylor Davis violin!

Soooo, how do you like Opus vs Bdio or Spitfire?

I can't get the website to stay in $USD. I see the drop down list that shows a variety of currencies and I can select "Remember" but I cannot select any currency. It remains stuck at Euros, which is more expensive to me than buying directly in $$. I tried both Chrome and MS Edge. Any ideas? I contacted VST_Buzz but no reply yet.

in Session Audio Riff Generation: Outside - In Edition
fret_man replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I believe it was in their summer sale which just ended. -
Maybe I should start a new thread here, but Spitfire Audio is also having a sale right now. If I were to start getting serious about orchestration, which ecosystem would you recommend I invest in? Or maybe 8DIO (also on sale)? Or maybe Vienna Symphony (also on sale)?

A little late there, Larry, but thanks for letting us know what we missed.

What is the V8P program? Their website search returns Error 404 when I search for that.
