You can try ReValver and see if you like it. All modules are available for demo. Only real limitation is that you can't save your settings for modules that are not licensed. RV4 has a spectacular power amp emulation. It is fully functional with free amps that don't require any purchase. Full ReValver has lots of great cleans. Even free amps are very usable for that purpose.

I have it. AFAIK, the original amp is designed with power amp saturation in mind, which is not the strongest side of most amp sims, including BX (Nembrini) plugins. Only ReValver has got it right. GR5 is close, but not spot on. All other developers use some simplified approximation of power amp impact on the overall tone and feel.

Jon Lord loved guitar amps! $5 or $25? Have they got rid of their license transfer fee?
-
Spent my voucher on this one. It's a tone heaven. And unique. Not just yet another SSL knockoff. ?

Thanks for your video, Zo. My impression of Overloud is that the 'overall approach' is about being silky smooth and precise, while Waves' plugs are transparent and punchy. Generally speaking. Your review proves this point.
-
Actually, I'm OK with that. I also think, we must support developers we like with our money, loyalty and spreading the word. But since it's a group buy, I'd be willing to share my slots with other people, if it were possible.
-
I still have 4 unused slots. If this GP will hit its last landmark, I'll have 6. I wonder if they can be used somehow.

I never owned or played real Bassman or Chandler, but I do like Brainworx implementations. Since you don't play the guitar yourself, I would suggest to stick with Amplitube because, although other ampsims may sound and feel a bit (or quite a bit) better, Amplitube tones are mix-ready, i.e. require less hassle to make the mix sound good. That's just my experience, of course, so take it with a grain of salt.

bx megasingle and megadual blow the competition out of the water. I'd use them for heavier stuff, if I played it. ?
-
I did. Official Mesa Mark models are a lot better than the old ones. As for Rectifier models - it depends. In most cases I prefer old ones. Here the main lead theme is processed with the Metal Lead T. https://www.bandlab.com/soundwise/alisa-miller-secret-d6057

Got it from everyplugin. First of all checked the Finger Bass. It's not perfectly in tune according to the ET system, but it definitely sounds like a normal bass. Not as versatile as Ample Sound or IK MODO basses, but very usable nevertheless.

Waiting for Koby's help to upgrade to the Inspire Collection.

Who's gonna need us, guitarists, with instruments like this? /*gone taking piano lessons...*/
-
I love AiR instruments. Been eyeing this upgrade for a while. This instrument sounds so good, it seems I can stay awake all night, going through its great presets and playing... Worth every cent.
-
IMO, none of the existing plugins comes close to this complex, rich tone. If you must pick just one, AT4 is more versatile.

This a track, mixed with just TR5 plugins. https://yadi.sk/d/mzT1freFejR2Ug This was intended to be just a mic test, to figure out what mic to use with my new 1x12 cabinet. I took a drum loop, played a simple riff and improvised over it. Then added a bass line and some Hammond pad. Then I decided to give T-Racks a try and put some modules across the tracks and busses. Honestly, I didn't expect it to sound this good for a roughly put together test. It took me only 3 hours from start to finish! That's including swapping mics, recording, etc.

You can easily stay within $200 range and get Fender or Epiphone acoustic guitar that will play and sound excellent. This track has been recorded with me Epiphone DR-200CE Na (CE = cutaway electric, NA = Natural finish). https://www.bandlab.com/soundwise/alisa-miller-augustin-21818?revId=b684723f-e61a-e811-80c3-00155d60d108 Minimal processing applied. If it doesn't sound acceptably good, I don't know what does.
-
Thanks, Cap!? It doesn't really help in this case.

The way I see it after some testing (with the most neutral settings): 24 and 80 when used across individual tracks have a subtle cumulative effect. On the master bus are almost nonexistent. 99 and 440 are not so subtle across individual tracks, but give great results on the master bus. Bear in mind, these plugs are CPU hungry and can easily cause dropouts, if you have too many tracks. In such case you'd want to use them only on buses, not individual tracks. HTH.

SVX1 has an upgrade option to SVX2, comes with more gear, including pedals and mics, IIRC.
-
I agree, the Fulltone collection is great, especially chorus and delay modules. As for distortion, I think Wampler Pinnacle is better. But my opinion is based on playing real pedals. It is possible, that OCD implementation in AT4 is better than the Pinnacle. FWIW, will we ever see other brands' units grow into collections? Like T-Rex, Wampler, Engle, DrZ?

This video convinced me, that IK version of Orange amps is pretty accurate

I think subs like this are a great opportunity for hobbyists to: a) thoroughly test plugins; b) finish a project, committing changes and then cancelling subscription till the next time.

Thanks to Peter, the support request was instantly solved. I'll save my money for MTMs. Hopefully, will get a pair by the end of the year. ?
