  1. When playing live guitarists usually want to have two base tones - clean and overdriven. Then two variations of each - rhythm and lead. And then some extra effects thrown in occasionally, like wah, delay, chorus, etc. With pedals I used to do this: 1. Set the amp for a nice clean, slightly saturated, but below the breakup. 2. Use an OD/Dist pedal to get the crunchy tone. 3. Use a boost pedal to turn the above two basic tones to lead sounds. 4. Apply effects when needed. With a nice two channel footswitchable amp - same as above except the point 2. This setup can be emulated with multiFX digital processors. Now in a virtual studio environment plugins provide such a vast variety of options, it can quickly become confusing and make one dizzy. What is important is not to loose your focus. In other words - get your basic tone and stick with it. This is, probably, the main reason I decided to pay for the BST100, despite having almost every amp sim on Earth. One simple solution that doesn't distract from recording and arranging.
  2. Often the case with guitar gear. I have three points for each amp sim when testing: 1. Sits great in the mix. 2. Feels like the real thing. 3. Sounds great standalone (soloed). In this order. Usually emulations that meet all three criterias are easy to dial in, kind of set and forget. All others require more complex processing with plugins like EQ, compressors, saturators, reverbs to work well in the mix.
  3. No bass amps, no rack effects, no wah... Better is subjective. Peace! ?
  4. There you go! Depeche Mod riff DI 48k-24.wav
  5. There are many good IRs, and there are Celestions. 'Nuff said!
  6. I use Melda Mcabinet because it has some unique features, but you can use any IR loader, like https://www.stltones.com/products/stl-ignite-emissary-plug-in-bundle https://www.two-notes.com/wall-of-sound
  7. I can share my presets for Melda Mcabinet, based on some Celestion IRs. I think it's legal to do so. Or you can pick what you like here https://www.celestionplus.com/
  8. Wanted to share this. Just reamped a little set of guitar recs through my Laney IRT-Studio and compared results with the BST100 processed tracks. In a blind test I wouldn't be able to tell the tube head from the plugin. It's good. With Celestion IRs, of course!
  9. It's not a DI riff. It's processed with the preset. I can make a DI for you. Won't take long,
  10. Audio https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OfmCtuAvbdauYrHxRdhtNQYnjfIEmrPh/view?usp=sharing BST100 preset https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OVpiDbos_1FNTLzeOJj19yLV1ekjdjUv/view?usp=sharing Done this in 30 seconds. Depeche Mod riff.wav DM Slow riff.xml
  11. Exactly! My demos had expired long ago, so I had to judge by listening to the online reviews. Well, now that I purchased the BST100 license and tried the plugin with Celestion IRs - it's just what the doctor ordered! FWIW, I still doubt the MRH810 tracks will have good separation in the mix. At least, easily dialed in.
  12. I don't see a point in checking something overpriced. Sorry, unless they have some sales, I won't even look there.
  13. This review sold the BST100 to me And this just confirmed, that 2210 is ... ermm... not for everyone.
  14. Nembrini amps undeniably boast the highest details, clarity and response. But, summed together, all these factors make your guitar sound wooly and mashy in the mix. This may be due to the Choptones IRs. Gotta give it a try with other IRs and compare with the real tube heads/preamps I have.
  15. Interesting. I'm not impressed by the demo. How do you know it's good? Nevermind. It's not the droids tones I'm looking for.
  16. My thoughts exactly, word by word!
  17. I don't really want or need duplicates, but, since it's a Group buy, I'd be happy to give away my extra slots to people I know.
  18. It's a dangerous set of mind. ? I'd rather thank them for creating this plugin. ?
  19. When I bought MCabinet hoping it to be a regular IR loader with 6 slots for IRs, I was very surprised and upset it's not what I expected. I requested a refund, but the good folks at Melda refused, saying, "you should've demoed it first" and "we don't do refunds for already registered licenses". So I decided to give this plugin a try and guess what - it's super useful! Now it's my goto virtual cabinet, coupled with Celestion IR library I have. I get excellent results, much better, than what was possible with normal IR loaders, including the WoS.
  20. I doubt you may use it for videos. We are not allowed to publish works with these stems involved.
  21. Vouchers are nice to have if they get you something useful. Hopefully they'll have a flash sale this month too.
  22. or ... for you favorite plugin vendor with every plugin you buy.
  23. Gotta get me some British Classics.
  24. This Sonivox offers many nice to great sounding instruments, but the poor UX turns people away from using it. The only Sonivox VI I have no complaints about is the Eighty Eight Ensemble piano. All other libraries are ruined by poor programming. What a drag!
  25. That's exactly what I meant by saying, that AT4 is mix ready. ?
