I touched on this subject before, but this is one jam I probably couldn't get with software. There is all this weird pitch dissonance going on which gives it this falsetto theme. But it was totally unintentional. The MS-20 patch just came out this way (well ok, I used the pitch modulation, so it was me who did it), which gave me the idea to implement some slight dissonance to other synths. Software wouldn't have given me that starting point.

I would say yes. But I seem to grow a bit tired of the standard chords and inversions. And my music doesn't really lend itself for an add9 into a major 7th in the 2nd tonic. So I use it for basic inspiration and tweak by hand from there. But it has many many many more functions.

I have/had the Adobe Audition Sound Fx bundle which you can (could?) download for free from their website. But there is some weird shannanigans going on with their terms & conditions regarding their use, so I don't trust them.

On the bright side (pun intended), I finally fixed the ceiling lights above my synths.

It's dub Sunday today. Great genre.

I've always been fascinated with dub techno. How something so apparently simple can captivate. Well, it's not simple at all for starters. There's lot's of movement and modulation going on. The Matriarch and the Peak are really excellent at this. I've thrown in my usual sauce of a bit of rougher work. It might seem out of place but I like it so much, I just do it.

But then my colleague caught corona this weekend, so I have to make it work somehow for next weekend. Anyway, I think this one is awesome.

Oh f*. I promised myself no more spending this month since I got myself new Hue lighting for my entire apartment and a new tv this month. But 2 new reverbs which could be like the Sunset (one of my favourites) and the Tascam series...I had to bite.

My upgrade is $99 and it gives me Exciter, Peak and Motions. Nah...
