I refuse! Well... Maybe next week.

My barber was ill, so...

€192 at Thomann. https://www.thomann.de/nl/behringer_grind.htm Available "in a couple of months". We'll see.

For us harware addicts, Behringer just launched the GRIND. In the same formfactor as the Crave and Edge (and upcoming Spice). I think they only sell through their own website nowadays (or from now on, older synths are still at places like Thomann), but I haven't found a buy link yet on either. Price: $199.

Perhaps sales weren't going as they hoped...

Thanks for the comments!

I love that distorted atmosphere where certain elements have this grit they are not known for. The Matriarch for example has this lovely saturation when you fully open the mixer. The distortion on the Prophet 6 adds a lot (! be careful) of character.

Don't sleep on the free Gain suite. Use it all the time.

Thank you both for the comments. As a little hint of things to come, I might have a guest singer in 3 weeks...

I really like how the Matriarch and Prophet 6 give you these beautiful lush arps. Enjoy!

https://digital.undertoneaudio.com/products/uta-d-unfairchild-670m-mkii-v1-0#product This plugin is a painstaking recreation of the coveted Undertone Audio UnFairchild 670M mkII Vari-Mu Compressor. A design and development collaboration between MIXLAND and Eric Valentine, it is a process that starts with testing and measuring then, listening and experimenting and tweaking and refining over and over and over for over 6 months. The result is a plugin that unquestionably captures the unique vibe and character of the hardware. For a limited time, you can purchase the UnFairchild 670M mkII Plugin at a special introductory price of $199 (reg $249) ------------ Well this is basically a steal! A 199 vst plugin, that's completely normal...

I had the idea to hum or sing a certain part. Then I was fooling around with the mic, made a click sound and that sounded cooler through the fx chain. So, all plans overboard and 'beatboxing' it is! 😝

Thanks! I'm loving this live arranging. Makes the jams a bit longer, but the flow is better imo.

I thought I had, but I'm not seeing it anywhere in my account. Edit: I'm not upgrading for $49. Probably a decent price for such a synth, I just can't remember the last time, if any, I used it.

This week a bit of a copy (if that's possible) of last week. Droning chords and arpeggios which don't change a lot, but still keep interest. I really like this sound, so I will be exploring this some more in the coming weeks I think. It's more about atmosphere and the sum of all parts than something standing out. I like how it's constantly changing and evolving but never an abrupt change. This is more how I see techno / progressive. I hope this is something you also like. Let me know!

I can only imagine how frustrating it must be, especially in a professional enviroment. I've only had this issue just yesterday where I opened a project from 4-5 years ago to do some remixing and Kontakt was having none of it. Luckily I named the tracks with the corresponding name of the Kontakt instrument so I could load a new instance and fiddle around with it to get the sound I thought I had. I was just doing a fun remix so it could be a bit different. If I had to deliver the exact same thing, I was probably screwed.

Thanks! The setup is thought out specifically for that. There are still some items which don't get used as much as I like because of where they are. Work in progress.

Haha I saw your comment and I speeded over to the forum 😅

A fair bit of live playing, just letting the beat do its thing. It's not very structured like a buildup, break, drop kind of thing. It flows nicely and I like it! Edit: Oh and I had some trouble with one of the cameras, so I cheated and recorded another angle with me just standing around doing nothing 😂.

Just taking the oppertunity to say I still have an extra F'em serial lying around I'm wanting to sell for $29. A lot cheaper than the $107,40 it is now 😜

Yes I keep track. I think I sould be able to reach the 100 without interruption. Anyway, new week, new music, enjoy!

This sounds aweseome! I love that synthwave sound. -
https://www.orchestraltools.com/promotion/travels-in-sound €1,753 €599 +VAT. The individual products in the bundle are also 50% off. May I suggest the hauntingly beautiful and unique Fabrik Radome (I'm a fan of the entire Fabrik series). For €34 + tax you get a cello unlike in any other library.

I do this less than I should, but this one involves some improvisation on the keys. It's awesome to make use of the sonic range of the Matriarch. I should do that more often.

Ok this turned out to be a fun topic. I think the market is pretty saturated and people who are around for more than a couple of years (especially those under the care of cclarry), have pretty much all they want and need. I've been thinking and I guess what did it for me was 1) the realisation that they all do pretty much the same, the only general difference is workflow. And 2) the realisation that the YouTube reviewers are just salesmen who will sell you anything. Fueled by those companies. And 3) actually doing mixes and tracks multiple times a week showed me that what I have is waaaay too much. Don't get me wrong, if someone makes an interesting delay or distortion plugin which can do wild sounddesign things I might still bite. But for now I'm good...
