Lol, I thought it rang a bell ?♂️ Thanks that saved me installing/uninstalling another ?
-
Yes that is annoying Simon and makes them harder to search/use. I am in the process of renaming/categorising them to something more useful otherwise they will get stored with other foley samples and then forgotten.
-
Thanks, still not tempted by any of the offers in my account but I noticed that Sonible Balancer is available for free. https://www.sonible.com/balancer/

Running the latest version of Orb Producer Suite 1.1.2 (full) also seems very stable for me (no crashes) and pretty low CPU loading (6 to 7% reported in CbB). I'm using all four modules and they all play back fine simultaneously with the latest version.

Not that I have found Fleer. It let's you download it as per all of the other packs but, unlike the others, it doesn't then show up as something you own in your account. Strange.
-
Good choice Fleer - I did a tiny review of the freebies on this thread.

Exactly! But as it happens they're pretty good if, like me, you aren't a keyboard player first and foremost. A quick run down... The FX Toolkit is sample based and covers things like white noise, foley, ambience, risers, downlifters, buildup drums and impacts. Lots of good stuff in these for use in EDM, Cinematic or anything else for that matter. Comes in at just over 3Gb unzipped. Essential MIDI is 350 MIDI files of keyboard patterns covering every major and minor key but I didn't find any duplicates in the quick sample I did so the first Cm one is different to the first Dm one etc. Being MIDI of course it means that you could use all 350 in any key you like. One of the 7 packs is dedicated to ARPs and includes WAV examples (for some reason). Topaz - another 80 MIDI keyboard patterns so could be used like the one above.

Same here. Actually I think I only have their free stuff (first one was a Halloween pack from a couple years ago) but I think it has all been useful.

Wow! Brilliant work from the King ? Thanks a bunch Larry

There are a couple of accordions in the free Halion Sonic SE library which sound good. I used one of them layered with the Melodeon from the Kontakt library in a cover I made of Alan Parson's Nothing Left to Lose. UPDATE: I think the accordions I referred to above may have been in the paid version of Halion Sonic 3. Apologies for any confusion as I upgraded from HS SE to HS3 then full Halion 6 and I thought I had recorded the song when I only had the free version.

Thank you for your message Piotr and I wish the same for you and all of your family and friends. ??

Glad you got it sorted Simon ? I have had a few oddities with LABS since its inception. Just now, after clicking optimise my dulcimer samples folder disappeared! It's back again now though after doing a repair within the app. The difference in size for the download vs the hard drive content I can only assume is due to the download being compressed. I used to get Error #0 a lot when I opened LABS which I eventually fixed and the LABS log file was useful for fault finding (under settings - troubleshoot - show log file). Looking in the log file gave some clues (load failure on patches/presets) and I ended up repairing and optimising pretty much all the libraries within the Spitfire app. After doing all the repairs I still had error #0. The log still showed errors for Soft Piano and when I looked at the presets and patches subfolders I found some older versions of soft piano. I removed these (moved them elsewhere temporarily) and it then worked fine with all instruments.
-
Mine showed an update to 1.0.4 and I have just updated. I also had an "Optimise" button underneath Strings 2. This is one of those odd things which I have seen a lot in the Spitfire Audio program - you hover over the Optimise button and it goes grey but when you click nothing happens and the Optimise button remains there. After exiting SA and restarting it the Optimise button is gone ?

Lol, Dubstep's not my genre either Probably not much of it is my genre if I'm honest but you never know if there's a loop in there somewhere that will inspire or that can be mangled in some way to add something unique to a track. I quite like getting MIDI stuff as it can be used in things like EzKeys, Band-in-a-Box, ReMIDI etc and takes up hardly any space. I started going through the freebies I listed and there are some potentially useful to me but I guess it depends on what you are looking for. The ones I listed are mostly quite small (100 to 300Mb) apart from Oracle (700Mb), Eternity (840Mb) and Life (2 x 1.2Gb). The MIDI pack (Python) is of course tiny so just get it. Potentially Useful Python (MIDI pack) - 51 MIDI files in various minor keys which would work for keyboards/strings or edit for your needs. Oracle - Melodies and MIDI but will delete the 808 bass notes as I have 808 well covered Melody collection - 40 melodic loops plus the individual instrument stems for each loop. Life - Lots of Ambient/Foley sounds - useful for background audio in videos or maybe some tracks. Covers things like rain, fire crackles, city ambience, crowds, calm ocean sounds, waterfalls, rivers, streams, vinyl crackles, farm noises. Eternity - useful for Lo-Fi vibe. Cobra - Hip Hop - mostly useful plus some hi-hat and melody MIDI. Euphoria Vocals - good selection of dry and effected vocals. I like these as they often cover things that I could never sing myself ? Millenium and Roses - Future Bass/EDM - lots of drum loops, FX, melody, Serum presets and MIDI Drip - Hip Hop - some nice guitar/drum loops in this one plus MIDI I think that's about it for now. Hope that helps. Now to check out the download vault ?

Ok will check them out in the morning. I have had a few Cymatics packs in the past and found them to be ok. With all of the recent free or cheap sample packs I have filled up my downloads area so I am spending a bit of time most days installing/auditioning/archiving/moving and often deleting things. I think I’m going to have to be more discerning about what to keep.
