  1. Thanks @User 905133

I bought it on intro sale and it has been updated regularly by the dev.

Incidentally, since v1.29 if you look in the zip you downloaded you will find a folder called "Harmony Bloom Expansion Pack V1".
You can drag and drop the whole folder to the UI to add 60 new presets. Alternatively, you can add them individually in the same way.

I tried it out and I don't like it. Playing single notes with it is very complicated and confusing. Weird design choices...

    I agree.

  4. I have TimewARP v1, and the Arturia Arp emulation.

I'm trying the demo of TimewARP v2, but I'm not convinced so far.

The main bonus with v2 seems to be that you can scale the display, so that you can actually read the text on a high resolution monitor.

  5. HouseEngine and ChilloutEngine have been updated to v2 during the last weeks, and now it's time for TranceEngine 2.

TranceEngine turns your chord progressions into uplifting melodies, driving arpeggios, deep basslines, and memorable hooks.
If you don't have your own chord progression yet, TranceEngine can generate one for you. Different progression algorithms make it easy to start a new song from scratch.

The plug-in is suitable for all Trance styles, but it is a good fit for other genres as well.

    Download:

    https://feelyoursound.com/download-tranceengine/

Price: $52 / €49 (Standard version) and $416 / €392 (Pro version). The update is free for all customers (simply download the demo and install it over your old version).

Introductory offer:  Use the code "TE2Std" at the checkout page to get 22% off on TranceEngine Standard. Use the code "TE2Pro" to get 50% off on TranceEngine Pro. If you already own v1, the update is free. The offer is valid until 2024/09/01.

    New in TranceEngine 2.0:

New: Package Browser. TranceEngine 2 ships with 13 different packages now (e.g. "Heavenly Arps", "Ethereal Keys", "Smooth Basslines",...). Use the package browser to explore the different packages and switch between them.

New: Favorite markers. Each preset has a star-shaped "Favorite" marker now. It is located to the left of the MIDI drag-and-drop field. Use the "Show favorite" tag in the preset browser to display your favorites only.

New: Preset type display. Hover with the mouse over the icon below the "Favorite star" of a preset to see the preset type. "Fixed playing style" reproduces a certain playing style, "Generative" can sound completely different for different chord progressions.

New: Generate a chord progression for a specific scale. Click on "Generate chord progression" in the start view, then pick a scale and a generator algorithm.

New: 47 new presets for different styles (10 "mid bass", 10 "mid bass on scale root", 8 "arpeggio on more octaves", 9 "acid", 10 "arpeggio on scale root").

New: News checker. TranceEngine will inform you about updates now. You can turn this off in the settings (cog wheel icon on the Presets Page).

UX: When you do a search or a reset, the Engine will jump to the currently active preset if possible.

UX: Crisper UI when working with higher DPI settings.

UX: New colours for active chords. This makes the Chords View easier to use for colour blind users.

UX: UI Scaling option in the settings (Presets View).

Bugfix: Now ALL chord progression generators will work for Major as well.

Bugfix: Sometimes the currently playing chord wasn't displayed properly in Edit Chords View.

Bugfix FL Studio: Reaching the end of a sequence led to erroneous pitch bend movements in external synths.

TranceEngine contains 514 generative presets for all occasions now.

    DANGER DANGER DANGER WILL RODGERS

I just read the following post on the Band in a Box forum in a thread about AI generated voices that included a couple of mentions of VocoFlex.

"I purchased, received a license and then received an email directing me to a site that asked for a copy of an official government issued ID before I am able to download the product that I paid for. Since you also have payment information, this violates many US and California consumer protection laws. As you are not an agency of the US Government, State of California, an airline or one of my medical care providers, this is absolutely unacceptable. I have filled out the form at https://www.complycube.com/. The next step is to file complaints with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and my credit card company. You are not allowed to do that here."

Here's the full post: Consumer privacy protection complaint re VocoFlex

So, my decision to wait has been significantly reinforced.

That's why I added the note at the end of my first post last night and I recommend people read that link as well.

I'm not going to spend $160 on this. I bought the Synth V Pro + 4 voices bundle for a little over $450. If I don't get an extra discount for topping that up to the Synth V + 4 voices bundle + Vocoflex bundle, I'll wait for a better deal. If one never comes along? Then neeeeever mind.

Ditto! For one thing I don't need Vocoflex, and I would also like an extra discount for being an early adopter and buying many of their VBs already.

  8. Vocoflex Launch link:

    https://dreamtonics.com/announcing-the-release-of-vocoflex-new-bundles/

The store now includes Synthesizer V Studio and Vocoflex bundles, as well as the usual single voices, all for 20% discount.

Might be a good time to grab a few voicebanks, although Vocoflex seems pretty expensive!

NOTE: Anyone considering buying Vocoflex, I would strongly urge you to read this thread first!

Im holding out for Absolute 6 at the $230 price.  Both April 2022 and 2023 had that sale. Hoping we’ll see it soon again in 2024 as haven’t seen it yet.

Interesting ?  My upgrade from Halion 6 to 7 is £42.50 (inc VAT) which I was planning to do, but now you have me thinking I should wait for the Absolute 6 sale (or maybe it will be Absolute 7 if they launch that soon).

The question is whether buying the Halion 7 upgrade now  would reduce the Absolute 6/7 crossgrade price more than the cost of the current Halion 7 upgrade, or will it have no effect in which case I will also wait for the Absolute sale.

  10. Thanks Larry.

I also had an update to Tonex SE from 1.7.2 to 1.7.3

    What's new in version 1.7.3:

    TONEX Player

    • Fixed incorrect cab loading when switching cabs on ToneNET.

    TONEX Librarian

    • Fixed USB communication problems and improved reliability.
    • Fixed incorrect cab type written in Preset when dragging multiple Tone Models to a TONEX hardware device.

    General reliability improvements.
