Really liked your song, very good lyrics and nice guitar playing. Like your voice too. You've got talent.

https://www.bandlab.com/studedude/sahara-5c984f20 Little more rocky song with a middle eastern vibe.

Thanks guys! Yes I know the picture has nothing to do with the song, kind of lame on my part. I tried the Jam Origin and couldn't get it to work at all, although there are a lot of people that swear by it.

Barry, it's sounding good. I still hear a little distortion on the vocals on the last part of the song.

Yes, Steely Dan was the first thing that came to mind too. I've always tried to write a Dan song but have never come close. Very cool song. I was thinking that doubling your vocals on parts of it might sound good, kind of thicken it up a little to emphasize the chorus maybe.

This song I posted earlier is a better example of what the midi guitar can do.

Very nice! Must have been a lot of work put into this. Really like the acoustic and then electric guitar. The percussion is very cool too. Exceptional.

Being a guitar player it's a game changer for me. I can play chord progressions that would be way to much work for me to figure out on the keyboard and even be able to play on the keyboard. And of course all the cool sounds that come with access to synths, pianos and organs. The tech is not perfect, I usually get some glitchy notes that are easy to fix with midi editing, I wouldn't want to use it live (a lot o people to though). The midi pickup set up is crucial, if everything isn't perfect it won't work right, there's also a bunch of software adjustments that make a big difference in how it works.

Using the fishman midi guitar to play the piano and vibes on this one. Trying for the Jobim sound of the 60's.

It sounds nice Barry. I still think maybe real harmony vocals would sound good. But it like it as is too.
-
I know what you're saying, the guitar and keys fight with each other a bit. I thought about just having the keyboard only on that part. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks Andy. If I upped the tempo I'd have to re-record everything, I don't think I want to start over. Driving the amp more that would be easy, I'll check that out.

Thanks for the kind words. I usually feel like my songs are too long, I know that I have a short attention span when it comes to songs. There needs to be some pretty interesting stuff going on to get me past 4 minutes. I'm no shredder so I feel like I might run out of good ideas pretty quickly. If only I had Andy Timmons or Steve Lukather's gifts!

I always thought that the backup arrangements really made the Eagles songs special. The Beatles were pretty good at it too.
-
Nice melody. I like the bass line. Good guitar playing too. I was imagining some back ground singers doing some Ooo's or ahh's on or near the chorus.
-
Really nice, there's a lot going, many layers. Sounds great. The guitar is pretty subtle.
-
Good work, would be a good movie score.
-
Sounds nice, all the instruments compliment each other.
-
Wow, that's beautiful. Sounds like a movie score.
-
The basic groove is really nice. A change up of some kind would sound good, maybe a piano solo could make it great.
-
Another catchy song. I like the piano's, kind of reminds me of early Elton John style.
-
Lot's of interesting layers going on. Good playing.

Thanks man. I've never tried the burstbuckers. My wife's les paul has 490t and something else but they sound pretty good , hotter than mine though. Hate the weight of that guitar, don't like playing it. It was the only guitar we have that the fishman midi pickup fit so unfortunately I do have to play it.
