  1. Have you tried mapping the drive instead of using a UNC?
  2. Capturing a hang dump might help May also want to try opening a project instead of just launching the DAW. If the DAW opens, check the folder the media browser is opening for zip files.
  3. The start screen is multi-threaded. When three processes are showing, there is only one instance of the start screen running.
  4. Internally Cakewalk uses 32 or 64bit depending on the 64bit Double Precision Engine setting in preferences and Render Bit Depth. If the exported file is going to be processed further such as mastering outside the DAW, it is a good idea to leave the project at the higher bit depth. Bit depth reduction and dither should happen one time at the end of processing.
  5. No, as already noted the project loaded and played OK. When opening a project created on a 32bit DAW in a 64bit DAW the only changes made are 32bit DX plug-ins (such as TTS-1) must be swapped out for 64bit versions. 64bit DAWs cannot load 32bit DX plug-ins. If the 64bit plug-in is not available, the DAW issues a warning message and uses a placeholder for the missing plug-in 32bit VST plug-ins are replaced with 64bit version if one exists, failing that the 32bit plug-in gets loaded using a 32 to 64bit bridge (by default BitBridge). No other changes are made to the project. Open the instrument/MIDI track in the Event List and review the data going to the plug-in.
  6. There are variables for this in the [Options] section TTSSEQ.ini called SendLocalOff and SendLocalOn. TTSSEQ.ini is located in "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core" For more info see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=INI_Files.5.html

    How to hire an expert

TH2 Creator was a special version of TH2 (the predecessor of TH3) bundled with Music Creator 7 the last of the Music Creator series sold by Cakewalk.
  8. 1. The demo projects are in a separate installer available in the Cakewalk Installer found at the bottom of this page. This appears a couple of screens into running the Cakewalk Installer. I have not installed them, but I believe the demo projects are installed in a folder under "C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core" 2. 10 minutes to scan 81 plug-ins seems like a long time to me too but it depends on what the plug-ins are doing when being scanned. For example, Softube plug-ins take a lot longer to scan than any other plug-ins I own. The good news is, by default, plug-ins only scan once. Subsequent scans do not rescan previously scanned plug-ins unless they run in a shell such as Waves and Presonus or have the rescan options enabled in preferences. Plug-ins that run in a shell must be scanned every time. Users that have these plug-ins often change CbB VST preferences to manual scan and only scan as needed.
  9. Whether the bit depth is changed during import depends on the Import Bit Depth setting. As a rule, Record Bit Depth should be set the same as the Audio Driver Bit Depth Render Bit Depth should be set to 32 (the default) or 64 Import Bit Depth should be set to Original (the default)
  10. Projects may contain clips at a variety of bit depths. ASIO drivers usually operate at one bit depth, so the Audio Driver Bit Depth drop down is disabled. The transport module shows the Record Bit Depth NOT the Audio Driver Bit Depth.
  11. There is no Win10 driver. The last driver made was for Win 8/8.1 see https://www.roland.com/us/products/v-studio_20/downloads/ There is a way to get the driver installed on Win10 http://forum.cakewalk.com/How-to-use-V700-win-8-driver-in-win-10-also-applies-to-some-other-Roland-drivers-m3206046.aspx Bottom line the hardware was discontinued around 7 years ago, the last driver was released in 2013 and the company that made the software bundled with it went out of business in 2017. The software will likely run on any version 32-bit or 64-bit Windows XP and newer but without the integrated LAME encoder. The user will have to use an external mp3 encoder. LAME is free for any version of Windows Guitar Tracks runs on. Not sure what sellers and buyers expect when dealing with antiques like this.
  12. If the image shows the "Sort by Category" layout there is definitely a problem with SI-Drum Kit. If SI-Drum Kit were available, the layout would show a folder for Drums. The section below Default (TTS-1) and above the Bass folder holds a list of up to 5 of the most recently used plug-ins. The list indicates SI-Drum Kit was available at some time on the PC but the folders below the list indicate the plug-in is no longer available. It is impossible to say with the information available what happened. If the machine has not been restarted in some time, this may be a good time to do it. Running a VST reset from preferences may pick up the plug-in again. The Reset button is in the scan option section. If not, then re-installing the Studio Instrument suite may restore the plug-in. If the Studio Instrument Suite was installed using the Cakewalk Installer, then the Studio Instrument Suite installer should be in a Cakewalk folder in your Download directory. To get a copy of the Studio Instrument Suite installer run the Cakewalk Installer available at the bottom of this page.
  13. At the time the V-20 was sold, the integrated mp3 encoder was a paid option. The integrated mp3 encoder was based on LAME. If one did not purchase the integrated encoder, it was still possible to make mp3 files by exporting a wav and using a free copy of LAME or another mp3 encoder to convert the wav file. When the patent royalties associated with MP3 encoding expired, Cakewalk started to include mp3 export for free. The information regard BandLab and access to the old Cakewalk accounts is accurate. If you want to read more about it see https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/categories/360001718094- BandLab did not buy the Cakewalk company, they purchase some its assets from Gibson. After the purchase, BandLab released a new 64bit DAW called Cakewalk by BandLab based on SONAR Platinum source code. Just like SONAR Platinum, Cakewalk by BandLab includes free integrated mp3 export. Cakewalk by BandLab is a considerable upgrade from the DAW bundled with the Roland V-20; it is free, maintained and supported by BandLab.
  14. Any text editor will work including Notepad and Wordpad. I have used the same text editor since the '70s...EMACS but it really is a LISP interpreter masquerading as a text editor.
  15. .ins files are text files too. Use a text editor to open "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\master.ins" in a text editor to see all the different sections or some of the .ins files in "C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Instruments"
  16. Did you try exporting a time-based selection? This may be done in the Range section of the export dialog or in the track view. Here are a couple of methods using the track view Click-drag on the timeline From the menu Edit > Select > All, then set the start time using either the Select Module or click in the timeline to set the Now time position and from the menu Edit > Select > From Now
  17. Fit Project has a default keyboard shortcut: CTRL+F It may be easier than using the Custom Module. If the control bar appears to be forgetting its setup, check your workspace setting. The control bar layout may be loading from the workspace. If this is the case, create a custom workspace that does not load the control bar layout or set workspaces to None.
  18. This won't help problems with MFX plug-ins. They, like the DX audio plug-ins, are registered when installed. The VST scanner does not work with these plug-ins. The default location for these plug-ins is "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared MIDI Plugins" The actual location depends on where CbB is installed. The "Shared" folders are in the same path as the "Cakewalk Core" folder containing the CbB program itself. If the plug-ins are missing, re-run the full CbB installer. If the plug-ins are there, unregister and re-register using regsvr32.exe. To see help for the program type regsvr32 in a command window.
  19. I don't use McAfee. I wonder if it is messing with activation.
  20. The plug-ins mentioned in the OP (Classic Creative Suite audio effects) have been included with CbB since 2020.08 Here is the list of all included plug-ins.
  21. Yeah, the point of Rapture Session was twofold provide a 64bit replacement for Cakewalk Sound Center and provide a taste of Rapture Pro, the paid replacement for Dimension Pro and Rapture Classic. That is strange. What version of Windows, Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software are you using?
  22. Focusrite supplies a decent ASIO driver. Install it and change the Driver Mode to ASIO and adjust Mixing Latency as desired. WASAPI Shared has a fixed buffer size.
