  1. Get the latest version of BA using the direct download link https://www.bandlab.com/download/assistant/windows
  2. The suggestion to use an external virtual keyboard and MIDI cable was for driving the Matrix view. It could work as a virtual controller for soft synth like SI-Electric-Piano but the built-in virtual controller in CbB works too. Unfortunately, the built-in controller does not work with the Matrix view. As a rule, the keyboards on synths like SI-Electric Piano are intended to audition the synth. It is not possible to record MIDI data from the SI-Electric Piano using its keyboard but it is possible to record the synths audio. To do so instrument tracks must be split into their audio and MIDI tracks.
  3. My guess is messing with the DP engine the way the OP reset it. I was not going to follow up with the OP. I can understand running 8.5 but ignoring the free updates to DP and just now having issues with a 9 year old synth seems odd.
  4. This and tempo map creation will kill a CbB project dead without first setting the algorithm.
  5. It may be a big deal if one forgets to perform the requisite workaround and the project hangs with unsaved changes.
  6. The only time I know Cakewalk sfz synths go silent is when they receive unexpected MIDI data usually from 3rd party MIDI files. Once silenced the project must be restarted to get the synth back. The fix is either clean up the data or enable "Do Not Intercept NRPNs"
  7. CbB includes these plug-ins but can use any 64bit plug-ins bundled with SONAR. Can't tell from if you have Platinum, Professional or Artist. If Platinum or Professional, the only thing that could be missing when opening a CbB project in SONAR may be zplane Elastique. IIRC, this is mentioned in the warning message when opening the project. Any CbB project containing patch points or aux tracks will not open in Artist. For Pentagon issue see this thread
  8. CbB started out as an unreleased version of Platinum. It uses essentially the same project format as Platinum. When opening CbB projects in SONAR there will be a warning about the project being created with a newer DAW and some features may be unavailable as a result. Which version of SONAR are you planning to use?
  9. The media browser in CbB will display anything the OS permits. Because there are no predefined links in the media browser to where ever these samples are stored, it is necessary to navigate to the folder using a combination of the Up one level button (G in the image) to move up the directory tree and click folder names in the browser to go into a directory. To add to the Content Location menu (C in the image), click the Save Content Location icon (L in the image). The media browser usually only shows file types recognized by CbB. It is possible to see all files and folders by select the option under Views on the Browser menu (B in the image) For more info on the media browser see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Browser.03.html
  10. Uploading images to the forum get reduced in size. There is also a 50MB quota. To avoid these limitations I use imgur.com and post links to images. These to not get resized or affect the image quota. I took a snapshot of how the image appears in the browser and posted it to imgur.com then posted a link to the image here so you can see we. I will let you decide how legible it is. I am sure you can see all the clips in the take lanes have menus and that clips overlap when the lanes are collapsed. doubling the size of image - here are the places where clips overlap in the image
  11. Or select the clip without a menu. The entire clip should appear Or move the second clip to the right and see if it is hiding anything
  12. The image is too small and the Event list does not show clip boundaries. Try opening the track lanes. Its the button in the lower left of track 2's header. The clips are in different lanes slightly overlapping.
  13. The track icons tell the story. There are two ways to add soft synths to a project with an instrument track or with at least one audio and MIDI track. Either way is OK. The image above shows a MIDI track then an audio track. It is possible to convert the pair of track shown in the image above into an instrument track by right-clicking in the track header and selecting "Make Instrument Track." Conversely, instrument tracks may be broken out into audio and MIDI tracks by right-clicking and selecting "Split Instrument Track." By default the Add Track menu creates instrument tracks. Every other method uses the Insert Soft Synth options dialog. Here are the instructions for using this dialog to create an instrument track. To add synths using audio+MIDI tracks using the Add Track menu, click H then J. To put the audio and MIDI tracks in a folder, click I too. To add synths using audio+MIDI tracks using the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog select MIDI Source and one of the three audio options below the Synth Track Folder option. If you have messed up the defaults and unticked the "Ask This Every Time" at the bottom of the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog, click icon E in this image of the synth rack to bring up the dialog
  14. Are Windows and CbB set to the same sample rate?
  15. AFAIK, every clip has a menu. I suspect the OP will return and confirm your answer.
  16. In addition to indicating the default editor for a MIDI clip, it is a menu to select the default editor for the clip.
  17. The feature in CbB that comes closest to this is the Matrix View.

    Now Marker In Staff View

Well I have an image in my head but it may be different than what you are describing. The last time I messed with floating views was a few years ago and then just to see how they looked in SONAR. I prefer to work views docked using the view shortcuts, D and SHIFT-D to manage the views in the multidock. If there have been any optimizations to Windows visual effects in System Properties performance options, they may be messing with CbB. AFAIK, practically no testing is done on Win7. Development and testing shifted to Win10 years before CbB.
  19. Keep a copy of the original tracks. I have not tried but you may be able to duplicate the track before rendering the melodyne clips and archive the duplicate.
  20. Have not used sf2 format for some time. sforzando is a free sfz player that has a built-in sf2 converter tx16wx claims to read sf2
