  1. Usually the installer is pretty good at detecting the CPU. There is a setting in Aud.ini called ThreadSchedulingModel. Read about it here. Verify or change the setting in Preferences > Audio > Configuration File. If this is not visible in preferences, click the Advanced radio button at the bottom of the preferences window.
  2. Use a different synth for the carrier signal. Here is how Also consider retiring square 1 and any other 32bit in your installation. There are quite a few free 64bit synths and plug-ins for practically any task. Using 32bit plug-ins in new projects is not a good idea.
  3. This is a good exercise. Try it an see. When experimenting, work on a copy of the project. Please, report back your findings. Non-destructive alternatives to Process>Apply Effect>Audio Effects are freeze and bounce to tracks and archiving the original tracks. Both have options to apply effects while rendering audio.
  4. BandLab has not released Pentagon I. A good free alternative vocoder plug-in is TAL Vocoder. Here is a thread about using TAL Vocoder in CbB.
  5. A little more testing with Entire Mix. My first test just checked the file format. Subsequent tests put audio on the tracks. Entire Mix relies on hardware mains so in order to create six channels of audio requires six hardware outputs. I ended up using 6 ADAT channels on the Babyface. I have nothing connected to the interface ADAT ports.
  6. I don't work in surround and should have tested before posting the first time.
  7. OK, I just ran a test. Export using the Bus failed so I switch to Entire Mix. Going to write a bug report on this. All data was routed through a surround bus configured for 5.1 (film/alternative) in surround preferences Pulled the wav into SoundForge to confirm it was a 6 channel wav. I use an RME Babyface Pro as my interface.
  8. In the export dialog use Buses as the source category select the surround bus from Source Buses use Entire Mix set the channel format to multichannel update - uses Buses did not work for me
  9. It is the velocity for the note Deselect "Show Velocity" on the PRV Notes menu For more info see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=EditingMIDI.12.html
  10. The Mix Module has buttons for Solo, Exclusive Solo and Dim Solo.
  11. While it is possible to split each MIDI note or groups of notes into separate tracks all of this may be done by breaking out the audio from EZDrummer into separate tracks and use a single MIDI track as its input.
  12. As long as "Unload Synths on Disconnect" is enabled Probably a better idea than archive for those using sample based synths.
  13. Updates to Anthology XI Physion * and the H9 style plug-ins - Blackhole * CrushStation Crystals MangledVerb * MicroPitch Rotary-Mod ShimmerVerb Spring UltraTap * Undulator (I think this is all of them excluding the one released today) * part of Anthology XI Fix an issue in all H9 plugins where the clip meters did not always illuminate when clipping had occurred Internal DSP improvements in Physion Download updates from https://www.eventideaudio.com/support/downloads
  14. https://www.eventideaudio.com/products/effects/chorus-plugin/tricerachorus Intro price $39 check resellers for deals Classic Chorusing for the Modern Producer TriceraChorus is inspired by the classic Tri-choruses and stompbox choruses of the 1970s and early 1980s. It pairs rich BBD-style Tri-chorusing with another classic effect of the 1980s: Eventide micro-pitch detuning. This effect can be used to thicken the sound, to add static chorusing, and to spread the stereo field by detuning the left and right signals in opposite directions. The combination of these effects makes it easy to create syrupy, smooth, and deep modulations on synths, strings, vocals, guitar, bass, and more. TriceraChorus is a great way to add richness and spatial depth to your sounds. TriceraChorus was designed to inspire experimentation with a UI optimized for live performance. Whether on your desktop, laptop or iPad, TriceraChorus will expand your sonic palette.
  15. Could use MIDI-OX to see if the MIDI data is making it to the PC It's pretty easy to use download run the installer run midiox.exe set input in MIDI-OX to the drum kit hit the drum pads the notes should appear in the MIDI-OX display. If they do not the problem is before Cakewalk. If the notes show up in the display it is a Cakewalk configuration issue.
  16. You are most of the way there with the drum map. Use the virtual controller as the input and the drum map as the output on a MIDI track. Enable input echo on the track. It may be necessary to modify the drum map to use the note range of the virtual controller. IOW in addition to the channels in the drum map, there may need to be some changes to the note in/out columns so that the virtual controller operates in the range needed by the synth.
  17. @Jim Roseberry when running the Basic Workspace, the Event List View is unavailable. It is removed from the menu and the keyboard shortcut does not work.
  18. Both track 2 and the master bus show audio passed through them. Arm the MIDI track for recording, the press the record button in the transport and record the MIDI data being received. This will give you some data in the DAW to test with.
  19. Something happened The audio track shows it received a +2.0db peak signal from somewhere (MT-PowerDrumKit maybe) The audio track is routed to the Master bus. To make the buses visible click the near the bottom of the track header pane. Just to the left in 7 MT-PowerDrumKit Stereo in the image above (n.b. the image is reversed in the Tungsten theme you are using). This is likely an audio setup problem review the setup in preferences.
  20. Recording or not In order for the DAW to do anything with the audio generated by a plug-in there must be a track for the audio. Audio tracks and simple instrument tracks serve that purpose. One thing you will have to contend with when using software to generate sounds in place of your hardware is delay caused by audio interface buffering. You may find this delay to be a problem. Most use the hardware sound module instead of monitoring a soft synth through the DAW to avoid this delay.
  21. A soft synth requires both a MIDI and an audio track or a simple instrument track (a simple instrument track is a hybrid displaying MIDI input and audio output controls in a single track) in order to receive MIDI data and return audio to the DAW. The last 2 images show the synth and a MIDI track only. Add and audio track to the project and set the input of the audio track to the synth.
  22. It works like any audio track and has always been this way. Typically tracks using a patch point as their input, such as an aux track, never record; they simply stream the data they receive. To hear this signal requires enabling input echo. This is why an aux track has input echo enabled by default.
  23. If I had to guess https://www.perforce.com/blog/vcs/what-team-foundation-server Most VC systems don't do much with binary files like CbB project files. The existing versioning built into CbB is how most VC systems handle them - opaque blobs of data.
