Thanks to all who contributed to helping me out, Try adding the plug-in to the MIDI FX rack. This applies the plug-in to the whole track, The "Insert Effect" in the clip context menu adds the plug-in to the clip FX rack. Just like audio FX racks, every track has one. Every clip has an FX rack too but, the OP a track level application. Instrument tracks do not show the MIDI FX rack in the track view, it is on the MIDI tab in the inspector.

What is not clear from the OP is if the Melodyne VST3 is installed.

It is not built into the DAW, it relies on the Melodyne VST3 plug-in. CbB includes a time limited trial version of Melodyne as an Add-on. When the trial expires, the plug-in still works for monophonic drag and drop audio-to-midi and tempo map.

Can't import audio into instrument tracks so the menu option is disabled.

Not sure what you expect. The Vocoder is not in the project. It must be added to the audio track FX rack, the plug-in must have "Enable MIDI Input" set in the VST drop down above the plug-in UI and the MIDI track output must be set to the plug-in. The project has none of this. I modified the project to include the VST2 TAL-Vocoder [link removed] Download and open it in the DAW.

Try using MFX Transpose in the MIDI FX rack instead of the Key+ setting

Only one ASIO driver may be selected at a time. To change ASIO preferences, deselect both Input and Output settings first.

I run the default values Step size is 960 (Preferences > Project > Clock - Ticks per Quarter-Note) Auto Advance Offset is 0 and everything lines up OK. With settings like the images above Step size set to 192 Auto Advance Offset set to 8 I get the same result as the images...notes offset by 2.

This thread is not about plug-in layouts. I answered in the thread you created

Make sure the synth layout is set to "Sort by Category" When the layout is set to "Sort by Category", categories may be maintained in the Plug-in Browser. The plug-in manager has nothing to do with category tags.

I am not sure, have not used a Presonus interface in some time. Presonus support should be able to provide the definitive answer. If I had to guess... Studio USB ASIO Driver Export the ASIO entire entry Delete the entire ASIO entry from the registry Create a copy of the export, remove all but the Studio USB ASIO Driver and import it then start up the DAW.

I believe all of those except for the RealTek were installed by Presonus. The RealTek should be removed. It is a problem driver. Of the Presonus drivers, the Studio 1824c only uses one of them. The rest serve no purpose but the DAW has to check them every time it starts to see if something is connected to the driver.

It may be helpful to know a little more about the other entries. Even though they may be for other devices (such as the ASIO driver from RealTek or a Generic ASIO driver) does not mean they are harmless.

The Presonus driver may be the only one needed. What are the other entries?

Is Presonus the only entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO?

Ran against 2021.01 and 2021.04 again. Both updated OK, full installer for 2021.01 and update installer for 2021.04. Ran Studio Instruments Add-on only against damaged SI install (missing files). Fixed OK. Bonus, now I know which installer contains the demo files. Would rather have them in a separate installer.

Yes, that is what I meant.

This and grabbing installers for machines without an internet connection. All it needs is the logic to handle activation and BA would be redundant (at least for CbB download, install, activation and update).
