As part of the changes resulting from the recent product announcement, the old Cakewalk website was moved to legacy.cakewalk.com Don't forget to add this site to your browser's insecure content to access web-based help images. For Win10 Edge, add legacy.cakewalk.com to Edge Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions > Insecure Content

This product (the web-based DAW called BandLab that runs on a variety of platforms including Android) is made by a completely different group at BandLab Technologies. It has nothing to do with Cakewalk or this thread. -

is a DAW made by a different group within BandLab Technologies, It is not a Cakewalk product and not part of the OP. -
Hopefully, the final release of the FET for ProChannel won't crash the DAW.

This is true. There are those who are still rolling the dice with pre-X series SONAR and I occassionally read something from a ProAudio fan...30+ years and going. I prefer something a little more modern. -

No, thanks. Next is the web version. It cannot work with VST and VSTi This is incorrect Cakewalk Next is a native Windows/Mac program that supports VST2/3 format plug-ins. BandLab Technologies has a group who make a web-based DAW called BandLab. This is not a Cakewalk product. -

don't pay retail -
Never heard of it but just checked the Klimper website at it looks like another MIDI generating plug-in this time in VST3 format. the setup in CbB depends on whether the plug-in scans as an FX or a synth. See the post below for info on setting up MIDI generating FX and synth plug-ins

Isn't that how all evaporative AC basically works? The problem I see is the unit is all in one room. IIRC, roughly 10 degrees F translates to 1% relative humidity so all one can hope from the one room unit is an adjustment in the temperature vs humidity and this is why it is not a "true A/C" Before products like this was a wet towel on a fan. -

this is the puzzle -
You need to install the legacy stuff more frequently to really appreciate what it means to be a long term Cakewalk user.

I thought X1 was the first fully downloadable version. At least, the download version is the only one I have installed ever. SONAR 8.5 was partially available as a download relying on SONAR 8 for a complete install.

No need for a fresh install of Windows. Re-run the Cakewalk installers as needed, use full or advanced install options as desired and if you end up installing a legacy Cakewalk DAW (the actual DAW itself not just the plug-ins only from an advanced install) make sure to re-run the CbB install when done. Here is a more detailed discussion including a link io a legacy plug-in spreadsheet
