  1. Now if they could just release Ozone 9 Advanced for 50 bucks, I'd be there.
  2. I'm not familiar with Ben Burnes. Does he have a history?
  3. I remember when they first launched the site. The free license kept NOT working, so I picked up about 3 of them. Unfortunately they were all linked to my account and cannot be transferred. Great plugin though
  4. It might be worth keeping an eye on them. I remember when Nembrini started out with one or two plugins. I wondered the same thing... Now I'm buying their stuff (when it's on sale).

    Landr NOT A DEAL

Really insightful, thank you so much!!!! I spent most of the day ploughing through this, and there is a lot of info that you don't get from scanning the various distributors sites. Really really helpful stuff. I'm more confused than ever

    Landr NOT A DEAL

That is very good to know. I found Landr misleading too.

    Landr NOT A DEAL

Well, disctrokid offers $19.99/yr unlimited songs or $35.99/yr to do all the things that landr do on their complete package, but without the extra costs per song/album release. That means, if you sign up to disctrokid and release one ep, it's already cheaper than landr...and you can keep on releasing without paying more. I also found landr's offer worded badly in the past. They used to say, 'you can release 10 songs per month' on a particular tier. What they didn't say was that once you release those 10 songs your limit is full, and if you want to release 10 more songs next month, you either have to pay more, or you have to take down the 10 songs you put up last month.... so what they really meant is. You've got a 10 songs limit. ? I want to add. I'm not with disctrokid yet, so I'm not promoting them over another. Just a comparison for you.

    Landr NOT A DEAL

Yes, I have.... That is why I've written in the title REALLY NOT A DEAL. Landr is now charging a fee for the year PLUS a fee per release (unless you pay the full 89/year) That's pretty poor considering they used to charge a flat rate per year.

    Landr NOT A DEAL

Those prices are not for mastering. They are for distribution.

    Landr NOT A DEAL

Has anyone seen the new prices for Landr's distribution services?
  11. But that is totally what I don't get. I see similar music to mine getting onto playlists, getting heavy rotation, getting placements but I don't see any marketing strategy going on. It's like the Wizard of Oz. How do I get to look behind the curtain? And please don't tell me I have to follow the yellow brick road. ?
  12. It's like 'the force' but with more pins.
  13. @Bruno de Souza Lino I totally get it.... but I totally don't get it too. ? It's really easy to say 'it's all marketing', but really hard to understand how to do that. You sure it's not Voodoo?

  15. Are the FXs in Pro Studio worth the upgrade from Recording Studio, in your opinion? I've seen a lot of tube style plugins that might be interesting, but I don't know if they warrant the upgrade. Does anyone have experience of using them? Thanks
  16. If you got the Acoustica Recording Studio in the Humble Bundle, you should have received this email to upgrade: I'm facing some financial difficulties at the moment - does anyone recommend the upgrade for the additional instruments and fx? Or should I save my pennies?
  17. I've been seeing a lot of people on Facebook forums having problems with the latest release of CbB. Splash screen hanging, install failing,...etc. I might just sit this one out for a while....wait for the next round.
  18. Do you realize how much church mice are going for on Ebay these days?
  19. Larry, you forgot to mention the 'pound of flesh' in the price.
  20. Sad truth is, just about every site now harvests our emails and data and sells it on to third party resellers, who sell it on again - ad infinitum. The only way to be safe is to never use the internet ever again.....or you could follow Fred Flintstone's example. Think about how many apps you've downloaded over the years, how many sites you've signed up to. Sometimes those apps and sites go broke and are bought by less trustworthy owners....who now own your data and can do with it as they please because...heh...it's written into the terms and conditions of just about every site and app that they are allowed to change the terms and conditions at any time without informing you of such....thus, they can 'legally' change them to include selling your data on to third party assholes. I remember a story a few years back of a computer repair service in the UK which started charging old clients small fees on their credit cards. Small enough so that most people didn't notice. When they looked into it they found out that the company had kept all the credit card details of their clients (information that was supposed to be automatically cancelled upon completion of services) spanning back years, and were slowly harvesting money from people's accounts. This is why you should never give your credit card or bank details to any internet service. Pay Pal at least give you "some" security against theft. Or, just keep buying up all of Larry's deals and keep your account permanently empty. Works for me.
  21. Any good? I've never heard of this before.
  22. I installed a new SSD the other day and I had to reactivate all my iZotope stuff. That was on the same PC after cloning the drive.
  23. Starise, sorry for my flippancy. I hope you didn't take offense. The truth is I appreciate what you said and can understand where you are coming from. But there comes a time in every middle-aged musician's life when they ask themselves....why can't I seem to capitalize on my successes? To give you some context. I've been making music/gigging/recording etc since I was a teen (over 30 years ago) and have had highs and lows throughout. In my late 20s I had a chance at the big time, but I bottled it and missed that boat. Back then I was briefly A-listed to radio stations having my music played on rotation, but I never managed to capitalize on any of that. I was even courted by XL records and The Verve's management Even now, I have had my music used by Joseph Gordon Levitt's HitRecord in numerous projects (Zappos, TV series etc..) but I never seem able to capitalize on any of it. Do you know how much money I made from radio and TV plays back then....something in the hundreds in total. Then I see people on Bandcamp with 1,000s of subscribers or making $10,000s on Spotify, and I ask myself.....how the ***** did they do that? And why can't I? What I post to the forum here is a very small part of my output - introverted passion projects. Hope this clarifies a bit where I'm coming from.
