I stepped on a Lego and upgraded from K12. I needed the Double bass for a project and also wanted Noire for quite some time. Those were $100 more than the upgrade so now I have a heap of Play-series instruments I’ll never install. Always happy to have some more expansions, however.

Well I managed to get Cosmos and KeyFX for $/€/£/¥0 including taxes, so I feel like a leech! Never checked out the company before so at least they sparked my curiosity for future visits👍

Wow! I completely missed this! It will be a day one upgrade for me. Thanks! -
I certainly agree with that! 😅 That’s why the first one I got was the SD+ with the four dials. I use one for jog, one for volume on selected tracks, one for pan and the last one for zooming in the project in Cubase and Logic. One swipe on the screen and they control sends. Buttons changes things like snap value and grid on/off, opening the UAD console etc. The SD6 I have opens and closes plugin windows instead of that tedious clicking with the mouse, opening close mixer, channel strips, some transport and so forth. It’s kind of neat. They are what you make them into I guess😎

That is pretty much what I was thinking the first time I noticed them. Then I was working in a studio where they’d set one up for repetitive tasks, which was great. And then the Stream Deck + came out and I was drooling over the dials. I got one, and then I wanted more buttons. Never looked elsewhere. But they’re not for everyone. Check out the free version of their mobile app if you are curious👍👍

I have two, one Stream Deck+ and a 15-button mkII positioned in front of it - and I use the hell out of them both! Best and most reliable DAW controllers I have ever used. I use them for numerous applications and various types of work, even for controlling or operating several apps in the background while doing things on the app in the foreground. And easy to reconfigure as you go along and what you need them for maybe changes. I love them and think everyone should have at least one 😉

Loudness Penalty Plugin - anyone using it - opinions?
projectm replied to Salvatore Sorice's topic in The Coffee House
This looks like a useful tool to me and I will probably use it just to keep an eye on things. When mixing and mastering in the good old days, you just needed to listen to the speakers. Now there’s a ton of numbers to pay attention to and none of them makes sense😝 thanks for posting about this, now I have more numbers to look at but they will probably tell me something when I need them to 😎👍 -
That’s 1000+ gold stars for him. What a guy

I remember when Deals used to be a good place...

It can still be good, but everyone needs to put in an effort and not just rely on one hardworking fellow gear junkie. (p.s. I don’t know what IBTL means) -
Hey buddy! Glad to see you’re still around here. 1: Damn that’s a beautiful studio! 2: I really miss my TriggerFinger… 3: How many Mac’s do you need?? 😝

I didn’t even know about the Absylon for guitar. I use the Rhino on my iPad and it’s a very good plugin. They make a lot of cool stuff.

Sounds like a pretty brutal bass plugin. Also on iOS https://auroradsp.com/front-products/absylon-bass

I usually don’t go around hating stuff…. but when I do, I’m hating on pandrums. Probably a nice HALion instrument, tho.

Ah, so that was what was causing it. Drove me nuts! I re-installed an earlier version, but will give this a whirl.

Steinberg Download Assistant and Cubase Updated to 13.0.40
projectm replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
This update made my Cubase crash every time I close the mixer window - but not in every project. Some serious mess somewhere, so I reverted to an earlier version. Anyone else experiencing stupid behavior on a mac with this update? -

Who’s saying farewell? The company of the instrument? -
Hmmmmm…. I think it’s time to finally get my own copy of Nuendo
