https://www.sonarworks.com/summer-sale Just picked up the Apollo monitor add-on for a nicer price than normal. Didn't know they had a sale. I was pleasantly surprised.

Machine activation was added today (v. 1.0.1)

This is pretty much the only thing I use from iZotope these days.

I believe it does but you can authorize it to your computer with the iLok software now.

Introducing Velvet, A smarter de-esser for smoother vocals | iZotope
projectm replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Itās a de-esser! In 99% of times you slap on the track in the correct place in the FX chain and it does exactly what you need it too! No need to pay attention to it. The video is well made, it makes de-easing look like art, but de-essing is not and will never be. I have de-essers that left me with wanting nothing, that needs less tweaking than what this thing seems to require! So screw this thing. After a couple decades doing this sound and music stuff professionally, a damn de-esser has never been anything I wished anyone improved upon. This is a product-dumbing-down-its-users, not an audio tool. Save your money and buy Soothe or Scaler or a weekās worth of Starbucks. This is snake oil IMHO. Iām sick of iZotope. Iāll get my coat⦠-
Itās greedy on the CPU but it sure is fun modulating its parameters. For the price, go nuts. This is an elegant sound design tool.
-
Hmmm for some reason I was expecting more than just a collection of flutes from this one. But Iāll keep it in mind in case the right project turns up. The demos sound great!

Not a bad deal. Old but still very good, and I have never found anything like their Focus Equalizer.

Toontrack Weekend Deals, Who put me in charge of this?

You canāt beat $9 MIDI! -
I feel that this would make Cubendo the ultimate eJay. Iām glad Iām not that into loops.

I bought a cheap preset pack for ā¬5 and got this. Itās actually a pretty cool tool. Tried to beef up some old drum samples with it and the difference was significant. Iām going to see what I can do with some mediocre recordings of an acoustic kit in a production today. So far Iām quite impressed!

I stepped on a Lego and upgraded from K12. I needed the Double bass for a project and also wanted Noire for quite some time. Those were $100 more than the upgrade so now I have a heap of Play-series instruments Iāll never install. Always happy to have some more expansions, however.
-
Well I managed to get Cosmos and KeyFX for $/ā¬/Ā£/Ā„0 including taxes, so I feel like a leech! Never checked out the company before so at least they sparked my curiosity for future visitsš

Wow! I completely missed this! It will be a day one upgrade for me. Thanks! -
I certainly agree with that! š Thatās why the first one I got was the SD+ with the four dials. I use one for jog, one for volume on selected tracks, one for pan and the last one for zooming in the project in Cubase and Logic. One swipe on the screen and they control sends. Buttons changes things like snap value and grid on/off, opening the UAD console etc. The SD6 I have opens and closes plugin windows instead of that tedious clicking with the mouse, opening close mixer, channel strips, some transport and so forth. Itās kind of neat. They are what you make them into I guessš
-
That is pretty much what I was thinking the first time I noticed them. Then I was working in a studio where theyād set one up for repetitive tasks, which was great. And then the Stream Deck + came out and I was drooling over the dials. I got one, and then I wanted more buttons. Never looked elsewhere. But theyāre not for everyone. Check out the free version of their mobile app if you are curiousšš
-
I have two, one Stream Deck+ and a 15-button mkII positioned in front of it - and I use the hell out of them both! Best and most reliable DAW controllers I have ever used. I use them for numerous applications and various types of work, even for controlling or operating several apps in the background while doing things on the app in the foreground. And easy to reconfigure as you go along and what you need them for maybe changes. I love them and think everyone should have at least one š

Loudness Penalty Plugin - anyone using it - opinions?
projectm replied to Salvatore Sorice's topic in The Coffee House
This looks like a useful tool to me and I will probably use it just to keep an eye on things. When mixing and mastering in the good old days, you just needed to listen to the speakers. Now thereās a ton of numbers to pay attention to and none of them makes senseš thanks for posting about this, now I have more numbers to look at but they will probably tell me something when I need them to šš -
Thatās 1000+ gold stars for him. What a guy

I remember when Deals used to be a good place...
projectm replied to GTsongwriter's topic in The Coffee House
It can still be good, but everyone needs to put in an effort and not just rely on one hardworking fellow gear junkie. (p.s. I donāt know what IBTL means)
