This is a screen grab from their site. You need to go to the manage devices section of your account. Like I mentioned before, I wanted to make sure I was understanding things correctly and I tried contacting Tech Support/Customer Support. The intent of my original post was to find out if their new customer support ticket system was working correctly because I had not heard from them yet. It wasn't to bitch and moan about their licensing policy, just kind of ended up there.

Well, I still haven't heard from Plugin Alliance, Izotope or Native Instruments. I submitted IT Tickets to all three. They all have the same interface. So, yeah. I moved forward with the BIOS update and so far all is good. All my plugins still work, yet the machine ID is now different and doesn't match what is on PA's website/my account. Funny, IK Multimedia told me to deactivate before I flashed my BIOS and reactivate after the fact. Well I didn't do that and just like PA, everything is fine and no extra authorizations were used. What the hell's the point of the licensing system and threats of limits on activations if they don't even work?

Funny how that works, looking for support with using their support. At some point we're going to discover a paradox that will blip the universe out of existence and none of this will matter...

I'm just basing it off what I read on their site so I was looking to their support for clarification.

I'm not having an issue with any other their products. I'm in need of a BIOS update and it's my understanding that their method of licensing uses your computer ID. If I update my BIOS my ID will change. Their suggestion is to deactivate my machine before the BIOS update and then reactivate with the new computer ID after my BIOS update. Here's the issue, you're limited to 7 deactivations before they require you to buy a new license, which is a crock. So you're basically being punished for basic computer maintenance. I want to talk to customer service to find out how many deactivations I have left, which the website doesn't show. If you're going to put limitations on licenses, you need to give me more information.

Sorry for posting a non-deal in the deal area. Has anyone noticed that they are all using the same customer service interface? I feel like their response isn't what it used to be. I would usually hear from customer support well before 24 hours and now I'm creeping up on 24 hours. I think I'm just becoming more and more impatient the older I get. Thoughts?

Yeah I figured, but I didn't want to pollute the Deals sub with Non-Deals things. Just trying to be polite.

Did Plugin Alliance change their tech support interface? Anyone experiencing delays?

Plugin Alliance - Big Al or SSL 4000G
LittleStudios replied to LittleStudios's topic in General Music Discussion
I ended up going with the BX SSL 4000 E... it just sounded so good on drums -
I'm torn... not sure which I like more. FYI I have the Waves SSL E-Channel. Or any other suggestions in that $24.99 range.

Looks like Crave DSP has released a new plugin, Crave Transient EQ. Looks to be lining itself up as a competitor to Eventide SplitEQ. Crave DSP appears to have some features (for example dynamic eq) that Eventide SplitEQ doesn't have, at least I didn't see on SplitEQ features list. Looks interesting, I'm going to have to check it out. I have Crave EQ2 and love it. https://cravedsp.com/crave-transient-eq Would have been nice to see intro pricing to compete with Eventide's current sale on SplitEQ.

They weren't clear about what was happening.

I think Focusrite realized they made a booboo and making it only available during the stream was their way of not giving out a buttload of licenses. I watched the stream, if you didn't have the chat up, you missed out. Kind of crappy. You could maybe argue that depending on when you signed up, you signed up under different pretenses. When I signed up and gave out my email, it was based on receiving the PARSONSFREE code, without the requirement to watch the stream. Other people who signed up later signed up knowing it was only during the stream. I missed out, I'm ok with it, but I could see feeling like the wool was pulled over your eyes.

You would have to point that out. I just want to reach into the screen and stand them upright.

How many times can someone say "Lindell '69" in one video. They should've just called it the "Lindell Nice".

Introducing Cakewalk Next and our new brand identity
LittleStudios replied to Jesse Jost's topic in News & Announcements
My guess is Next will be web browser based, you know, running through Chrome or Firefox or whatever web browser you use. This way they can reach more people. I think Sonar will be the version that runs as it's own application installed on your machine. Next will be free and Sonar will be paid. -
Thanks. Good to know I'm not crazy.

Introducing Cakewalk Next and our new brand identity

Will they honor the lifetime licenses sold a few years back? Will they give Sonar to the people who purchased lifetime licenses?- 715 replies

Has anyone noticed a slight change in the Cakewalk logo, font and color? Particularly on this forum site.

MEGA-20-OFF plugin alliance 20 usd voucher RESET - used it AGAIN
LittleStudios replied to Kreveta Puket's topic in Deals
Just tried this and it worked. Pretty cool. -
It's funny, they were able to switch there system over immediately, removing perpetual licenses and going subscription only. You blinked, and it was switched over. Their website was completely overhauled and Waves Central was updated as well. Now, for whatever reason, Waves can't seem to switch back as quickly. Their website still doesn't show prices for individual plugins and it's almost as if they're holding out, just a bit longer to see if anyone bites at the subscription. For example, someone new to plugins, who isn't up on all of what's been going on. They may have heard about Waves and will visit their site and see that they only offer subscription, and possibly buy into the subscription thinking that's how you get Waves plugins. Maybe a bit of a conspiracy, but I wouldn't put it past them.
