OK... Nice to have the finer resolution for the controllers... and being able to see them behind the notes? Currently useless for me. I can't see that view while editing them. Is there a plan to add this soon? On suggestion from the forum I tried the inline editor but no difference there. Am I missing something? Is there a way to edit the controller while seeing the "normal" notes view with controllers behind? Ouch! Just found another... In PRV. Select controllers with notes is enabled. I lasso a group of notes that has controller events. Moving the notes is leaving the controllers where the were...

I plan on checking out controller editing in inline editor, but if indeed we can’t edit such in PRV while displayed behind notes, it’s somewhat pointless. Opening the controller view removes it from the notes view leaving us the same as if we didn’t have this new view. Is this expected? Is it planned for an update? I like what I’m seeing as it appears a finer resolution but that may only be perceived. Most of controller editing is still a royal pain for me much of the time. I am (was?) hoping editing behind notes would somehow improve this?

Interesting. I’ll have to check it out tomorrow. I haven’t used that view in a long time as it always felt too small/confined for most of my needs. Handy for aligning midi notes/events to audio though... Thanks for the idea.

Is this new to the early release? Wait. Some of it. The orphaned automation has been around longer.

Love that I can see controllers behind notes, but can I edit them there too? So far I haven't stumbled on how to enable such (if available). My attempts to edit continue to deal with notes only unless I open the controller in a controller view below the note-screen

Yeah... I run into this a lot. Need/want to revert or change zoom is always a manual zoom in the PRV. I think it would be very handy to have the various zoom methods available in this view as well as the manual method.

Strange... I seem to be at 1.14 and not getting any updates shown available? Logging into my account online only shows a v2 that I can (will) install Ha! Downloading and installing gave me v 3.01! So only the info page is in need of updating?

I just filed a report at KV331 as well. I pointed to wrong forum though. Just realized. I will see about correcting that now Done!

Wow! Amazing work. So we see there’s some common issues going around. Now for me to try remembering how to post a proper trouble report. I take it the Bakers are still doing things that way? Thanks ? OK. I submitted a tech request. I guess that’s the path now? I also referred to this thread for them.

Could be. ...but could also be that two different routines are used in Cake. One saved with current settings (typically I change settings on synth and Cake remembers the changes without the need for me to save a preset. Doesn’t appear very necessary fir such a simple task. The other saving that data to a preset?

It might be a common programming technique used by some but not all... BTW, I did save the patch with fx disabled as a preset in the Cakewalk frame. When I use it, the fx status is correctly returned (fx disabled)

Thanks abacab... As it's happening with Starship too, it's not just my system. Some stuff does indeed get saved, but the simple task of muting the reverb and delay is where I discovered the issue. Closing and re-opening the project returns to the preset, not with these changes.

Thanks Starship... I thought posting here would be enough. I guess I need to make a "real" problem report? I haven't done that in a while... I'll have to remember how... ? I have many other synths including Analog Lab Lite. My issue here was simply a patch with an arpeggio I liked for the part... I have mostly duplicated it with a few other synths to further develop the sound/part. For the moment, I froze the Synthmaster part so I needn't worry (for the moment) on this project. I still don't have one synth with an arpeggiator I actually like. I rarely use one, but... it was an accidental part discovery... ?

Wow. Very detailed. Thanks. Mine is always the same. Even on different machines used over the years. I don’t use Workspaces. I leave them set at none. I don’t use the browser at all. I only use the Multidock for Console and Melodyne . I float the synth rack and open with alt-9. I close it from the upper right X (a la windows typical). I never minimize. Without fail on every project, if the Synth Rack isn’t open when saved, it will be back in the browser. Maybe there’s some setting I have inadvertently changed?

Yeah, it's free... Has lots of power... But for me, it's currently a joke to work with. Of course it doesn't allow the actual sound patch editing, I understand. It does allow toggling fx on/off etc. That could work except I'm finding it does not retain any of the changes I make. Upon next open of the project, I'm forced to manually recall the preset (at least that part works). I am about to replace it in the project I was using it in as this is not acceptable for me. If there's some way to change this behavior, I would appreciate the info but so far I've been unable to uncover any such. It's also a very difficult program to locate sounds. Even with the extensive feature set they include for doing so. I am continually overwhelmed with the huge number of arpeddiations and one-key playable grooves. Nothing wrong with having them though I don't use them, but it's hard to locate the playable sounds! OK... I've said my piece. Now to find something to replace it with...

I wonder if anyone else cares about this. I've mentioned it many times and no one seems to... Unless I leave it open and visible during a save, the synth rack always moves itself back into the browser without my doing so. Once the rack is closed it will continue to re-open properly during that same session, but once the file has been saved, the rack is back in the browser on next open. This has been this way for so long I don't remember when I started discussing it! Though a minor detail, it's a PITA to have to re-address this issue constantly. I don't want my rack in the browser. I prefer it floating.

Thanks Zo! i appreciate your joy immensely. Outside is my 12th solo album. My 13th (Hear Me Calling) is being released 11/23/22.. The first 2 were released on vinyl (1st 1985) and second on cassette (1989). The rest are all as In Exile. All (both names) are on Deep Space Records and available on all major (plus) streaming/download sites as well as original media (yup, I still have stock of my vinyl album if anyone ever is interested). Whew, that was a weird sentence. The first 2 were recorded to tape (pre digital audio) synchronized to my collection of synths playing live during mix. I used Roger Powell's MIDI sequencer program Texture. The third album (and all after) have been done with Cakewalk software. The first as sequencer only and digital audio recorded to a device of Soundscape (first company (British) who made a free standing digital audio multitrack recorded which used a Windows pc as controller. Then Cakewalk Pro Audio, Sonar, Cakewalk yes! So please enjoy! I enjoyed the making! ????

Thanks treesha! Yeah, yeah, yeah! It was a challenge at least. My wonderful parents supported my joy even though they didn’t feel it a good life path. They believed in me anyway. I had to take piano before they would allow guitar lessons. I went to 2 then quit and began teaching myself... until two weeks later when they signed me up for guitar lessons! They both continued to support my love of music in any ways they could for the remainder of their lives! Though they still wished I had become Dr, Lawyer, Indian Chief! ????
