  1. There will be different answers for different people. I suggest people use their ears. Since my computer is powerful enough and I do not use more than perhaps 30 tracks, I can record using 88.2 or 96K and it does sound better to me. I appreciate the better latency when recording. I do not use tracks during recording that I do not need to listen to when recording new tracks. This allows me to have a smaller buffer size and retain the latency benefit. Then on playback, where latency is not an issue, I can increase the buffer size. I hope this makes some sense. But this does not mean that this should apply to everyone.
  2. Thanks scook. But can a higher sample rate theoretically result in lower latency?
  3. I thought there is lower latency at higher sampling rates? Isn't that a benefit to some?
  4. Since I mix out of the box, I am usually at 88.2/24 or sometimes at 96/24 Mix down I usually use several sample rates of the same mix. Who knows what format will be the most common in media in the future?
  5. I wonder how long it will take for this new cakewalk to have equaled or bettered the plugins from platinum? Oh well - I am not complaining, but it will make it easier when using a new computer and the old platinum may not load?
