Hi Tom, Some were shot from my backyard in San Francisco, but some were shot under a dark sky in Northern California, about 3.5 hours north of where I live... Thanks for watching! Jerry -

I'm pleased you heard it that way Larry, for that was my intention. Thanks for listening. Jerry

You're reading too much right-wing propaganda! California is an amazingly diverse and beautiful state. The state has billions of dollars in budget surplus. It has some of the most progressive laws in the country in terms of pollution, climate change and keeping guns out of the hands of insane people. It's also got tremendous natural beauty--incomparable Redwood forests, many state and national parks, a large, diverse and well-educated population, particularly in the coastal cities, and is abundant in creative energy in the arts, sciences and technology. Does it have problems? Of course it does, like every other state in the nation there are criminals, defectives, sociopaths, ill-informed, mis-informed ignoramuses walking around. We've got our share of hate-groups, homophobics, racists and other scapegoating malcontents, but that's true throughout the country. ?

Hi! I am running CW 2022.11 build 021 I've confirmed the new bug regarding the SNAP function in staff view. It seems that when I first open Cakewalk, it "forgets" that the Snap Button on the control bar is in the ON position. Even though this button is lit up, when I insert a note, it doesn't snap to its correct position. If I turn off and then immediately turn back on the Snap Button, everything then works normally. But also, during a session, Cakewalk again seems to occasionally "forget" that the Snap Button is turned on, so I turn it off and back on, and, again, everything works as expected. Best, Jerry

I'm posting my entire 12th symphony for your enjoyment. I also want to say that I began using Cakewalk around 1990, so that's about 33 years ago. I love it now more than ever (is it weird to love a software program? (probably ☺️!). In any event, CW is an incredible work of art and science, so thank you to all the people who develop, manage, fix bugs and market this wonderful music software! This work was completed in October of 2022. I 10:03 II 5:56 III 6:25 IV 8:38 Composed for VSL Orchestral Cube and various softsynths. The 4th movement was recently accepted into the 2023 New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (festival has time constraints so I couldn’t submit entire work). PLAY

After further investigation, what seems to be happening is that CW "forgets" that the snap function is lit (on). If I click on the square snap icon on the toolbar to turn it off and then turn it back on, the snap function resumes working normally. I will send the file I am working on now to Jonathan Sasor. Thanks! Jerry

Hi msmcleod, I'm still experiencing this bug but it's intermittent. Of course the snap icon is on and the display resolution is always kept at 1/32. I'll check my trim and fill duration as well. I've never added UseGlobalSnapInStaffView so it's defaulting to 1 but I will double check that too. It's almost as though CW seems to forget that the snap function is on. At first I thought it might have inadvertently gotten turned off, but it's always on. When I refresh the snap function note value, i.e go from 1/8 to 1/16 back to 1/8, it seems to start working again. I'll keep paying attention and see if I can learn more about when it stops working. Thanks, Jerry

Hi! I am running CW 2022.11 build 021 I think that a new bug in the staff view has cropped up, it wasn't in the previous build (CW 2022.11.013) The snap function doesn't seem to be working correctly. Whatever SNAP TO note I choose, with the snap icon turned on of course, it fails to snap to its default position. It looks correct in the notation editor, but the event list shows it's not snapping properly. This was a very old bug that was fixed years ago but somehow has reappeared. Thanks! Jerry UPDATE! I am not 100% certain this is a bug. It may be a misunderstanding on my part. I will continue to investigate and if I think it's a bug I will update this...
