I would check to see if Free G is a 32 bit plug? Maybe you're getting some sort of buffer over run - if you're hearing a cracking sound - and it's not in the waveform itself. There are other free and low cost meter plug-ins . You could try the free blue cat plugs - there's a gain stage plug in this free bundle. https://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Bundle_FreewarePack/

What do you mean by " only works sometimes" ? Is the list not there sometimes ? - or - does the list not show the latest effects that you have recalled ? I'm not sure , but maybe the project needs to be saved in order to feed the registry entry for use next time the project is loaded.

You must have set to ( fit project to window ). Hitting the "F" key is the short cut. You should be able to drag the scroll bars to set any zoom level you would like.

Were your original acoustic tracks stereo - or - mono tracks. The panning laws may have been different on your older versions of sonar. There may a different scenario if those tracks were ever rendered and subsequently exported. If they are original tracks from your older install - then possibly the panning laws were different - but hopefully can be made right by just adjusting placement and volume. Weather they were routed to a simple stereo master buss previously - or to a new stereo sub-buss shouldn't really matter.

I guess I sort of self banned..... Too many inane silly quests and questions over there. " How can I run 24 instances of x reverb " type of stuff.

Regardless if I can understand what the OP has asked - all languages should be welcome. A reader has the tools to respond should they choose - the writer has the tools to post in whatever language might get the most - or most significant response.

I think one great style of production to study is some of the older Eagles albums. How they can get 4 vocals, acoustic guitars and 4-5 electric guitars plus a keyboard and rhythm to play nice is still amazing to me to this day. Very dense - but everything sits right where it needs to. Apologies for going tangent to the original topic.

I've had luck splitting a signal from my amps effects loop and sending that direct to my DAW. I use S-gear convolver only for cab sims by bypassing the amps and effects. It gives me my tube pre-amp over drive and I sometime use just a little limiting on the front end to tame transients. It's been working pretty well for mid to high gain distortion sound. Just a home remedy I guess but It's been working ok.

Multy track selection then Archive tracks - crash ?
RBH replied to RBH's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Thanks for confirming the issue isn't a CbB problem. That's a relief - archiving works just fine as individual tracks. I'll do some more testing in the next few days to see if this is a plug or specific project issue. -
As the subject says. I've tried on 2 different occasions to select multiple tracks - then right click to MSR then archive. This has hung CbB on two different test tries. Wondering if someone can confirm if this a SW issue or if it's possibly a project specific issue. The track count when trying this was maybe 15 - 20 tracks.

I have number of faders grouped and notice that I can't ( ctrl key - offset ) a particular volumes with in the group when solo is activated on the some of the grouped faders. Is this default or normal behavior ?

Oh - I just assumed we were pretty much old boring people. Guess I'll just speak for myself then. Been using Cakewalk since the 80's.

Best you can do is make sure that all controllers are zeroed out. Check pitches from the instruments with a VST tuner etc. Not all sample sets are perfectly tuned - but most are and modeling programs generally are perfectly tuned.

I have the Orange Tree Instrument, At first I wasn't overly impressed - then I did something related to it's interface and it just came alive for one particular composition. I'm very glad I bought it. - also Tracing Arcs Thanks for the recommendation for the the Free Vibraphone - looking forward to trying it out.
-
Also - Do a bounce to clips routine on the track. This will update the graphics properties of the track.
-
Glad you have it sorted out - Can you amend the thread title to say [ Solved].

Hopefully @Craig Anderton will chime in and spill some specific examples and advantages of Midi 2.0

ASIO driver stops when resuming from sleep on Windows 10
RBH replied to Raj G's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It's usually not recommended to allow " sleep " mode when using DAW. Power options can turn monitors off - but Hard drives need to stay awake. There are a number of actual experts on this forum, hopefully they will see this thread and speak more authoritatively than I can about it. -
Anyone Around Long Enough to Remember MIDI New?
RBH replied to razor7music's topic in The Coffee House
I remember MIDI being first introduced. I bought a very early version of the Prophet 600 that had an add on option for Midi output . I think that was around 86. My first major Midi recording program was Texture 2.5. Cake walk and Voyetra were the about the only other PC compatible softwares back then. This was probably pre windows. -
Thanks Willsa - though it's not working the way I would wish. It does work with " all " strips - and it works with a single strip as expected. I was hoping to select certain groups of strips and be able to narrow or widen just that selected group. Maybe in the future, it's certainly not a biggie.
-
Wow - it seemed like it should work just as you describe - I think that's what I've been trying. I wasn't selecting all strips though, just certain groups. I'll try again tomorrow. It's seems too basic even for me to screw up.
-
Would be useful to power / or ctrl select multiple strips in Console view to widen or narrow console strips. I can understand that these sorts of workflow conveniences might require some major code work - so none are trivial to ask for. But it's useful to add them to the conversation. Hopefully it act as a batch collapse for closing all selected Pro channels views.... etc.

and vice-versa......
