  1. Thanks for the replies. I’ll look at this when I’m back at my computer. Still, would be nice if you set a virtual instrument track’s input to None, it would be none and we could move on.
  2. I have multiple virtual instruments, each on their own track. They are all responding to midi input from my Nektar keyboard. when I select ‘None’ on these tracks for Input, they remain on Omni, so obviously they can still ‘hear’ the midi input. Can’t figure out why None for input doesn’t mean none, it stays on Omni (ie. All). In preferences, I also have the setting that means listen to the track that’s in focus. How do I break the signal flow of Midi to tracks I don’t want responding? The track I want to respond is in focus, and the monitor button is active, and the track is responding as expected. But so are all the other tracks. Thanks.
  3. I’ve always been a little confused by the Amplitude product vs Tonex product. I always thought Tonex kind of worked “inside” the Amplitude product. But it has slowly dawned that they are two completely different things. I know you can buy “packs” like the Fender collections, Hendrix, etc. for Amplitude. And with Tonex, it’s a lot easier for people to share presets they create. And I know Tonex has a physical pedal you can load into. What is the advantage of one over the other? Is Tonex like Amplitude on steroids? Thanks.
  4. Long-time user here. I never received such an email? I’m signed up for notifications in my account. 🤔
  5. That's what I suspected, thanks.
  6. I've been around since it was Sonar before CbB, so I tend to think of them as the same. But, this update is for those who paid for a membership to access the "new" Sonar, is that right? I don't see an update available in my current version, 29.9.0.98 (according to the toaster pop up). However, my help window pop up says Version: 2024.02 (Build 98, 64 bit). Not sure why there seems to be a conflict in the version number.
  7. Let me ask you this: if a person was to pick up something like the Jam Stick MIDI guitar and record strumming and picking patterns, could they then be used to “play” Evolution Steel Strings?
  8. I did watch those back in the day trying to get the program figured out. It’s a deep program and top-notch sound. I just rewatched them and, for me, the patterns are very, very limited compared with others in the same space. More patterns I could drag out and tweak would be a game-changer for me. I’ve never been able to get a realistic sounding performance using strum keys, not just with this, but with any of the guitar VSTi. Maybe it’s the feel of my keyboards? I can’t seem to finesse it very well with the various strum articulations. Creating patterns from scratch and getting them to sound good is just so tedious. Again, just me. Maybe I shouldn’t be so lazy and should have more patience with it! ?
  9. Evolution Steel Strings was my very first guitar VSTi. Mostly because of the raves about its sound quality. I’m picky as well. I play guitar, piano and drums, but don’t have the recording environment to make them sound studio quality. I agree, NI sound quality is great, with a good selection of useable patterns I use VTS almost exclusively for strumming parts. Unfortunately, I found Evolution GUI/workflow really daunting when it came to strumming patterns, whereas NI seemed much easier. Maybe because I was so new to the basics of Midi. Now, it’s like sticking with what you know in terms of NI line. LOVE Evolution’s tone and would pay you for usable strumming patterns for Steel Strings! ?? it’s been collecting dust on my VSTi shelf. ?
  10. With the latest Session Guitar releases, this one and Mint, you can now drag the patterns out into PRV and manipulate them. What drives me crazy is the keyswitches for ending strums. Sooo tedious to get them to work, if you ever can. So many times, in my experience (and I have every NI guitar), you can’t find a way to end things, as in smoothly stopping the instrument to transition into another song section.
  11. Hey John. Just to let you know, I’ve been toying with Studio One while Cakewalk/CbB/Sonar lets us know what’s happening. S1 has both features you mention.
  12. I don't mind paying for Sonar, either. But, I have a sour taste on subscription plans, here or anywhere else, To me, it's just a constant money grab.
  13. I've never been able to figure out how/if a subscription was involved. I don' t use Bandlab and won't subscribe if that's required to use Sonar.
  14. I hope they don’t go to a subscription model for Sonar. If so, I’m definitely out.
  15. Good to know. I’ve never seen one before on a folder.
  16. THAT fixed it! Thank you! I've been working with IK's tech support and will let them know that appending .vst3 on a folder name is suboptimal.
  17. Agreed! I always hold my breath and hope it doesn’t break something.
  18. This error has been reported with a number of plugins over the years. Did you recently update Windows? I think that’s usually a common's denominator.
  19. I updated IK multimedia Tonex, installed, scanned VSTs, CW "saw" in the scan file path in the pop-up toaster window, but when I tried to load it I got the error message in the attached. I checked the scan paths, and the Tonex vst3 path is in there. Any ideas? Thanks.

    UAD $50 coupon

1 $100 minimum spend for the $50 off is the catch. Tried it on a $99 plug. No joy. Seriously? Trip you up for $1? 2 Picked up Sound City for ~$50 as part of a $99 select-two bundle during holiday sales. That same bundle option is now $199. So you could get Sound City for about $100 as part of that, if interested. Will probably come back to $99 at some point.
  21. There’s this stem separator. https://www.lalal.ai Currently 50% off for Christmas sale.
  22. ??? Distrokid is one of the major distributors, and this is from the site: What Audio File Formats Can I Upload? Audio files should be WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC, AIFF, or Windows Media (WMA). If you're sending a WAV, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz WAV is typical but pretty much anything works. https://support.distrokid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013647753-What-Audio-File-Formats-Can-I-Upload-
  23. Worked great! Exactly what I needed! Thank you! All I need to do is import the MIDI from Project 1 to 2. Thanks again!
  24. Are you using any Soundtoys plugins? The last update has caused known intermittent glitch issues in CW. There is a thread on it on this forum. Like others, I’m waiting for the fix.
