  1. There is always this. https://freelancesoundlabs.com/index.php/downloads/komplete-kontrol-vst-packs/itemlist/category/120-korg Freelance soundlabs NKS packs are pretty good, the prices are in Australian dollars so not as expensive as they first appear. Jason is also quite customer focused and open to comments and suggestions.
  2. I must not commit a TOS violation.
  3. In the settings one can turn the animations off. I have not tested to see what effect this has on resources, but it would seem like a good thing to do if you are having issues. Another concern is it seems to dump all the sample content to the C drive, I did not see any option to choose a location. (correct me if I am wrong.) This could become an issue for a lot of people if there are more product in this range. It does sound good!
  4. I installed the update before creating the Tonenet account. Amplitude would not connect to Tonenet, so I reinstalled Amplitube and everything worked.
  5. This is a really nice synth. Absolutely no buyers remorse with this one!
  6. This Twitter thread is relevant.
  7. Bandcamp is great with lots of options. I have sold a few copies and made a very modest amount of money but you can of course charge nothing or do it pay as what you want. You get a bunch of codes so you can give away downloads, good for reviewers or family. If you have sold some copies they give you more free download codes. You can add extras to the download, like PDF liner notes etc. and making a decent looking page for an album is quite easy, including adding lyrics. You also retain control of what can be streamed and how many times it can be streamed without a purchase. Normally they take a modest percentage of the sale but they have monthly "Bandcamp Fridays" where they waive their fees. The hardest part is promotion and directing people to your music.
  8. Pretty much the best Rhodes library I have come across.
  9. The folk EZKeys sounds like it might be useful.
  10. I suppose the real value here is learning how to program rather than creating a specific sound. Once you understand how the sounds are created its often quicker to create a patch from scratch for the sound in your head than scroll through thousands of presets looking for something close.
  11. There are always modules for Voltage Modular on sale at Cherry Audio. The challenge is deciding what modules will be useful to you. This one is a real keeper. https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/cm22x-distortion Currently $8.50 (I am not sure what the full price is). I have made some great sounds using it like a wave shaper on a oscillator and modulating the five controllable parameters with different envelopes. Its possible to create some interesting, harmonically evolving tones. Of course its also possible to patch it to effect external sources and my initial experiments with virtual guitars are very promising. Requires Voltage Modular.
  12. However each of the emulations has their own unique extra features which make them different. I have several Minimoog emulations (Artutia, NI, Softube) but use Minimonsta the most.
  13. Seems to be a big emphasis on the accompaniments in the blurb which isn't a selling point for me. I am pretty happy with pro and use it a lot. I have all the expansions so I think it would take a decent upgrade discount to tempt me. Let's see what transpires.
  14. I am mostly using Studio One 5 now. I use the Sphere subscription so I have Notion as well and like the integration. I do miss the pro channel though. I think Cakewalk is a lot better for MIDI though. If it had a chord track I would use it a lot more.
  15. I have nothing against subs, I have Presonus Sphere, EW Composer Cloud, and Roland Cloud ( core), all of which are working out well for me and give good value, but this a bit underwhelming. I think its aimed at new customers, I don't see anything to tempt owners of the latest version of complete.
  16. It's a good question. I don't see an obvious use FOR ME, but I do use EZkeys and the Studio One chord track as a compositional aids. I have scalar but have not used it in anger. I also have a large wall chart of scales and chords above my keyboard which is very useful.
  17. I think the existing presets will only be updated in the "full" versions of Syntronic 2 so you will not see the new edit page for existing presets. (Someone correct me if I am wrong) The edit page adds a lot of functionality like a modulation matrix and the ability to change waveform in a patch. All my Syntronic 2 Max content was installed to my E: drive where all my other IK sample content lives.
  18. It is a very good synth, one that covers most bases, but I I have not really got into programming it properly so I am not getting the full value. There are plenty of decent presets though.
  19. The un-authorise/re-authorise in IK Product Manager worked for me. Apart from ST4 getting unauthorised it went reasonably smoothly, the huge download coming through while I had dinner. (I do have fast broadband but the server on the other end seemed pretty quick.) I think Syntronic 2 has gone a long way to addressing my reservations with version 1. Sound design is much improved with the ability swap waveforms in a patch and the whole edit page with its modulation matrix looks very powerful, but I have yet to dig into it. Preset load times seem to be faster than version one. A system with so many presets would really benefit with an NKS style audio preview in the browser. Freelance Soundlabs third party NKS addon for UVI's Synth Anthology is a real boon. All in all I was in two minds about upgrading but I am glad I did.
  20. Even outside of the fixed bundles there seems to be increasing discounts if you buy several instruments. Not sure yet if its enough to draw me in but I have been getting into Riffer recently so at least one of the 6 string acoustics is appealing.
  21. Picked up Quadra at Plugin Boutique for a song as I had built up some virtual cash. (list £29) First impressions are very favourable. It sounds fantastic. There may be a teething issue in the standalone as a piano sound seems to always be present regardless of the patch. This does not happen in the VST.
  22. I got a bit emotional watching this today. So many words left unsaid So many deeds left undone So many tales without an end The transit of Venus across the Sun
