  1. The stars mean "you contributed to this thread". The bullets, if you click them, takes you to your first unread post. I think.
  2. Thanks for the options. I should have mentioned that GC is where I have credit. Pretty much anything musical I buy from them. Other folks have mentioned problems dealing with them, but I've never had any. This whole fred has been rendered moot, I think, since the guy there told me that if you order something online and a local store has it, they will ship it to you rather than from some warehouse in Nebraska, so I would be getting the floor model anyway ? in which case I'll just go pick it up (if I buy), reducing the chances of it getting damaged or lost or winding up at Bit's house.
  3. I have found that they all are pretty much alike (in the store). I may not be as discerning as others, but they pretty much feel like 'guitars'. I probably don't know what to look for, but they're all fine instruments. I doubt I'll ever be modifying any guitar, so that is not an issue. The only time I did something like that was converting a 6-string Trutone guitar into a bass when I was 15. ?
  4. I don't know why I feel the need for a new guitar. I have hardly played in months. Maybe because the ES-335 is the last of the guitar on my Guitars I Want To Own list. I've had Stratocasters and Les Pauls. I've had SGs and an EB whatever (we just called them SG basses) and a Precision. Telecaster, too. Of all the guitars I saw being played by people I like, the 335 is missing. I would like to have one before the end. And I'm a lot closer to the end than the beginning! ? Maybe something new will spark a desire to play more like that new Strat did 5 years ago. I have played them in The Store That Shall Not Be Named, so I have a good idea which one to get, but I was wanting one that wasn't greasy or sticky or Jimi-tongued to death. Lots of good advice and experiences here. The general tone is, buy online but there may be problems or buy online and there will be problems. Thanks!
  5. How many of you have bought guitars online? Of course, you can't play them first, but I've played those models in the store. Were you satisfied with them? You probably had to do a little setting-up but that would be expected. I would rather have one that hasn't been played by every pimply-faced EVH wannabe in town. I like the smaller size of the 339 versus the 335 (I'm not a big person) but over the years I have read some folks here saying they were 'crap' or words to that effect. Why? I didn't notice any difference from the 335 (Epiphones, not Gibsons). If you have played these guitars, what is your opinion of them? Thanks.
  6. So, last week almost killed you and this week made you wish you were dead?
  7. Is the guy in front's name 'Sunglasses'?
  8. Apply the effect or Bounce to Track(s) then delete the effect. No problem opening it again, ever.
  9. Congratulations! I assure you when the kid is 15 the kid won't worry about disturbing you.
  10. I think you can enter (almost) as many words as you want in the track name box. It's small and only a few of the words show in the box, but if you hover the mouse over it, the entire script shows, I didn't look for a limit, but I was able to enter a 10 word track name.
  11. If it's the CCC you need, yeah they should be able to set you up. I have read of some irregularities lately when trying to use CCC. Supposedly being looked into.
  12. The old Cakewalk site has been closed for almost six years. While the pages are still viewable, you can't comment, so no need to log in or edit email addresses. If you didn't create a new 'single sign-on' before it closed, you may be out of luck. What exactly is your reason for wanting to sign in? Just to change your email? Since you created an account here, I think you succeeded. ?
  13. On every one? They must have kept you busy, too.
  14. Did any of you catch the mass spamming last night? I haven't seen those here in many years. Somebody nuked them while you slept.
  15. Condenser microphones require Phantom Power, which I don't think the RealTek has got. From their web site: "1. Simple to use and set up The budget microphone is easy to use. The setting up of the microphone takes only a few minutes. It is highly recommended to use Phantom Power to run the BM800 condenser mic. You will therefore be able to capture audio without having to increase the input gain. This will reduce background noise and produce better audio." If your intent is to make music you will need better equipment. If you want to podcast you will at least need a different microphone or a source for Phantom Power, a preamp.
  16. Nice one. Like the Bapu, it is a little out of my range. I like the white "Emily White" model. And the natural model with the dog ear P-90s. I saw a pic of John Lennon playing that exact model on FB last week. Some are available with pick-ups that can be switched from single coil to double coil for more versatility. Probably a pipe dream anyway, but I am going to make a trip to GC next week to get a guitar string, so I'll check out what they have.
  17. You don't mention where the clips come from. If from copying then pasting, uncheck the 'link clips' box
  18. Congratulations! I've been retired since '19 and was loving it. Since last year I've been semi-retired due to the state of the economy. Just 2 days a week. Enjoy it while you can!
  19. Lately, I've had this insatiable desire. Along with a dream wherein the desire is fulfilled, with great satisfaction. It has been infiltrating every thought, every action reminds me of this yet-to-be-attained goal. I need a 335.
