  1. I'm not Jonathan, but the best way is to upload your project file to the cloud and message him here with the link. I think that's what you wrote. 😉
  2. If you've already read the above, that should be 'Aux Tracks' and not 'Patch Points" And it may not record on both tracks? To record an audio track that contains effects 1. Insert the desired time-based plug-in effect(s) in the effect bin on the audio track. 2. Click the audio track’s Output control and select New Aux Track on the pop-up menu. 3. Arm the Aux track for recording. For details, see “Arming tracks for recording” on page 355. 4. Begin recording. For details, see “To Record Audio” on page 363. copied from page 994 of the Reference Guide.
  3. I think that by using a AZux Tracks, you can direct the output of the track that's being recorded to another track and then have one track with the effect in the bin and the other track with the effected audio. A plus is that by deleting the FX in the original track, you now have a clean and dirty recording. Aux Tracks have been around for a while, so not new to Cakewalk Sonar.
  4. I seem to remember reading here that 32-bit DX will not work in 64-bit OSes.
  5. Here's what my reference guide says, "The following plug-in types are supported: DirectX and VST audio effects. MFX MIDI effects DXi and VSTi instruments".
  6. DX is/was native to Windows. It does not need to be scanned. If the Windows operating system 'sees' it, it may work in Cakewalk.
  7. Changing cables fixed it. For now.
  8. Put a MIDI note with a very low velocity at the place you want it to start, or other MIDI message.
  9. Cool. Now I need to check other things.
  10. Geez, Wookiee, I don't know. How do I find that out? I looked up my update history and checked out the latest info contained in each one and didn't see anything about MIDI 2.0. But I'm not fluent in technese. Read a little about it in Pete Brown's article Windows MIDI Services October 2024 Update - Windows MIDI and Music dev which was the latest paper I saw. It only mentioned 'possible backwards compatibility with W 10 API 1.0'. Or words to that effect. Will do some more troubleshooting tonight once the new cables arrive.
  11. Probably coincidental, but after the last update a week ago on this W 10 machine, MIDI has refused to record in Cakewalk Sonar, X3, and SHS 6. It will play back correctly through my Yamaha keyboard, but recording is hit or miss. Sometimes the app will record a few notes but get stuck. The keystrokes were only a quarter note or so, but graphically, the notes are never ending in the TV, PRV and Staff views and in playback. Other times it will begin recording several measures in. Rebooting the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 didn't help. Waiting for some new MIDI cables to test. It just seemed weird that this happened immediately after the update and my enrollment in the W 10 support extension.
  12. John and George seem to be having a good time.
  13. It's all the way at the top.
  14. Quoting HOOK will draw his attention when he checks back in, if HOOK does check in again. Otherwise, HOOK may never think to check a 3-year-old post.
  15. I'm wondering why you have so many muted tracks that are selected and the export option to render muted/soloed tracks? Plus, it seems like most of the tracks still have an input selected. Confuses me. Maybe confusing the computer, as well.
  16. Have you seen the latest bi-weekly post in News and Announcements on the main forum page? Greater customization is coming.
  17. That's cool, Steve. Started reading it but will have to finish another day. It got long. And you know how I like The Beatles. It's nice to see something I haven't already seen.
  18. Is that like nonexistium?
  19. That stinks. 😁
  20. That is really odd. I have a 12-year-old, 8 GB of RAM computer running through a Focusrite 4i4 3rd generation interface set pretty high and get 0 latency when monitoring through the interface.
  21. I aleays use the Master bus as my source for the bounce, making sure all the audio is flowing through that bus.
